    Hello Sir can you please explain about why we need to create range start and range end parameters what is used of that and can we choose any random date for that parameter as we set set all parameters in incrimetal in incresmental refresh ther we set archive year as well last days to refresh but i I'm confused as we created these things in incremental refresh then why we need to set range start and range end parameter and is there is relation about this parameter or we can take any date for creating this range start and range end parameter

    Great Explanation just one doubt
    how do you decide start date and end date while setting up parameter
    or is it i can set any random date too ?

    • @LearnAtHomewithGulshan
      @LearnAtHomewithGulshan  7 месяцев назад +1

      You can set any random date. It will not effect incremental refresh.

    Great Video... I have a query - can we schedule a Full Refresh weekly while applying incremental on daily basis because historical data can also change?

    • @LearnAtHomewithGulshan
      @LearnAtHomewithGulshan  3 месяца назад +1

      After applying incremental refresh you can refresh only incremental data.
      For full refresh you have to use XMLA endpoint for refresh every partition

    Incremental Refresh takes the current date from the system and 60 days will be updated from current date?
    Bhaiya incremental refresh hamne 60 days ka diya he, jab bhi ham refresh karenge to vo current date se 60 days tak karega ya fir jo date hamne dali thi incremental refresh me sirf wahi se karega.
    For example: hamne incremental refresh me value dali 04/07/2023. lekin ham refresh kar rahe he 08/07/2023 ko, incremental refresh 08/07/2023 se 60 days tak hoga ya fir 04/07/2023 se hoga

  • @akshaypatil8155
    @akshaypatil8155 Год назад

    Does schedule refresh works with import mode as well as direct query mode? The reason is, in database suppose new data is loaded, automatically power BI report/dashboard won't update itself, we will have to manually press the refresh button or automate it with the help of schedule refresh. Am i right??

    • @LearnAtHomewithGulshan
      @LearnAtHomewithGulshan  Год назад +1

      Schedule refresh is work only in Import Mode. In Direct Query, there is no need to refresh. (because for every user intrection it would fatch new data)

  • @akshaypatil8155
    @akshaypatil8155 Год назад

    Why did you made Manage Parameters ? It was just a matter of how many Years data has to be archieved and to give number of refresh days??? What is the relationship between Manage parameters and Incremental refresh?

    • @LearnAtHomewithGulshan
      @LearnAtHomewithGulshan  Год назад

      Power BI use these parameter to identify data between archive and data which need to be refreshed.
      These are case sensitive and use same I mention in video.

    • @akshaypatil8155
      @akshaypatil8155 Год назад

      @@LearnAtHomewithGulshan Power BI understood when you gave 10 as a input number for number of years to be archieved, then why was their a need to do manage parameters ??????????????? bhai thoda elaborate karoge please???

    • @LearnAtHomewithGulshan
      @LearnAtHomewithGulshan  Год назад

      RangeStart and RangeEnd these 2 parameter Power bi use to apply filter. This will dynamically change over time.

    Hello man, 1) if we know for sure that new data will be accumulated each day or each month or each quarter, then why Power BI Developers use Import Mode. Their is always fear what if the data size exceeds 1 GB over the time. But also, import mode allows us to create all types of measures which Direct Query don't. Can you please tell me how to handle this scenario. How can incremental refresh helps us in this scenario. 2) If the project is about creating a dashboard where new data is loaded every day at 5am, and their is a fear that over the time size may increase more than 1 GB, and manager forces you to do import mode only, how would you handle this situation.......eagerly waiting for your reply. Please try to give a detailed answer so people in the comments will also get benefit out of it....

    TO ENABLE NATIVE QUERY IN DIRECT QUERY MODE :
    Go to the table's Advance Editor (M Query)
    Make a variable :
    #"Run Native" = Value.NativeQuery("your Source","SQL Query",null,[EnableFoldings = true])
    Use this #"Run Native" inplace of the "Source" in further Variables

    Note: Ok Sorry, Refresh k baad, Entire report dikhne lagi😅
