I was so psyched when Sniffers were introduced! My baby sister (14 now) had always wanted to be a paleontologist and we have been playing Minecraft together since she was 6 making up stories for the fossils and pretending there was archeology in the game. The Sniffer is definitely a dinosaur of some kind and definitely our new favorite mob. Such a cool addition and the dig sites are just so fun. Anyway love your videos man!

Enchants are a must on the brush. Mending and unbreaking especially if you go to a trail ruins. I like that you explored some of the 1.20 stuff here. Sometimes it’s good to shake things up. I was thinking you may want an iron farm or find a mineshaft if you are going to set up a sniffer farm. I have 8 sniffers and the rates are decent. The flowers as decorations are so amazing! Love the video! Keep it up!

Sus sand in the Ocean Ruins always generates down to the layer just below the loot chest, so always check to that Y level. On Bedrock, that also means even if you see stone - because just like the Trail Ruins bug on Bedrock there can be one or more layers of stone between the surface and the loot chest. That stone must be pickaxed through to find every possible suspicious sand or gravel block. Happy digging!

@@wattlesplays And using that knowedge I found 2 sniffer eggs yesterday in my 1.20 world and am busy farming with 4 sniffers to beautify my base with vase-placed potted ancient plants! :D
the only name for Wattles´ new and improved "starter"-base i can up with is: "Cherry Cliff Manor".
Fun fact: the sniffer is one of the only obtainable mobs if you turn natural mob spawning off 🤯
The others I know out of my head are : snow golem, warden , chicken, iron golem and the sniffer

I am shocked no one has figured out where the sniffer originated. It’s so obvious! The sniffer eggs grow faster on moss blocks, it looks a bit like it has moss on it, and it’s eyes are closed, (indicating that the sniffer lives somewhere quite dark.) we have all the evidence to say the sniffer originated in the lush caves!

@@kaitlin2019 that can easily be explained by shifting sea levels, collapsing caves, new caves forming, and the sea floor shifting.
I've just come back to Minecraft after not having played it since 2011, and this series has helped immensely in catching me up on things in the game. Thank you so much.

About archeology: craft a bundle, it will be really helpful. Especially if you live near cherry grow biome, there's quite a lot of rabbits.

Btw, for people who start a new world. There's a game rule called mobExplosionDropDecay. Setting it on false will make the game less frustrating. And don't forget bundles.

I think the next farm will be using a minecart track under the sniffer field to collect the seeds that the sniffers find. You can also breed the sniffers using the seeds they find.

I set up a sniffer farm with rails underneath and hopper mine carts to auto collect any seeds found. It helped a heap
Question: wattles what are your plans for the storage building. I know its a long way away but I would be interested to know if you have any plans yet. Your storage builds are always legendary. Is there a certain palatte/style you are considering?
i am hoping to one up the cathedral this time so the design is going to have to be immaculate
@@wattlesplays Wow one upping the cathedral won't be easy. I haven't got to that part of season 3 yet. but I remember seeing the jungle base in 2021 and being shocked with how insane that build was definitely a perfect example of how good large builds look if you put in the effort to detail them

Response to you response: After reading your comment and rewatching the video, I think this was an interesting idea! (I must say I was perhaps a little used to the older serieses😂, I kinda just watched them half a million trillion times because they're so great!) It's true that it makes the series a little more spicy to watch for older viewers which, let's be honest, are probably the main public of the guide. (It's just so great seeing you build all those little wonders AND it gives us so much inspiration for our world's!) I'm looking forward to see what the other people will say of the episode in the comments😁. Continue the great work!👍

recommendation for a couple builds to do that work well with each other would be a food farm, primarily a carrot farm and then a gold farm. golden carrots are prolly the single best food in the game, its what i use in my hardcore world. bonus is that when getting the gold from the farm, it's also a busted xp farm. you can also set up a villager breeding spot/trading area off the carrot/food farm for all those things as well. just a great combo that personally i feel is a must have for a world/base

B: You should absolutely build a barn. I built one that houses my wool farm and I keep my horses and camel in it. A barn stable would be a great place to keep Camelottle. You’d then have a home for any future horses or other animals. Maybe put the cow crusher in the barn too?
Idk why but I think the house should be called loggelldie (log-eld-y) cabin or "the house on loggelldie mountain". Idk I think it just sounds good :) 👍 top tier building by the way. Every time I see something I would have never even thought about using, you make a really cool build out of it. Keep it up

In addition to the new build challenges and your promise to farm EVERYTHING I think you should try to get every single advancement, especially the weird obscure ones. Trade with a villager at the top of the world, bring a Ghast back into the overworld, and so on.
suggestion: add a fountain with a "labyrinthine" garden surrounding it. I think it will look wonderful.

Hey wattles! Still catching up to the series, 3 episodes behind but I wanted to leava a life hack here in case you or others didn't know it. If you hold your sword in your main hand and the bow in the off-hand you can shoot the bow and you'll also get the looting enchantment effect from the sword. (because it is in the main hand)

I knew about the grass color in the mushroom biome. But it is very tedious to convert all the mycelium blocks into grass blocks. If you use some dirt and hope the grass spreads, the mycelium can spread before the grass.
Today I got my first sniffer egg and the wattles song of success played in my mind 😅

Literally the first time I went out brushing sand I found 3 sniffer eggs in the same area. And then they naturally bred and now I have 8.

An "ancient" built for the sniffers?
I gutted an ocean monument and then covered the entire floor with magma blocks and draining the water from below and above the structure and then I’m putting a mine cart system underneath the structure to make the most efficient guardian farm
it is on Minecraft tweaks if you go there and you go through it there is is a sus gravel and sand to see it more better

Replace the mycelium with grass and plant cherry trees on it. A serene and calm cherry grove on an island without mob spawining would be great. That is what Im doing with my world now.

fun fact: your able to place blocks on top of kelp, this includes a bed so if your traveling in the ocean biome, your more likely safer swimming away from land and sleeping on your floating bed.

The item pool really needs to be adjusted in archeology. Desert pyramid ruins offer decent loot- mainly diamonds but other than the sniffer and trims the risk of archeology just isnt worth the reward. You'll burn through so many tools excavating a trail ruins. Also there are 3 layers of sand under the stones in the ruins that are just a nuiscance to get to for the sniffer, which isn't an end game item but nearly requires end game gear to get. I meN its a fun thing but is just a pain to get.

My tip for using channeling to collect mob heads: After you've grouped your mob next to the super-charged creeper, get close to them and drop a water bucket. The creeper will blow up the mob once you get close, and the water will help protect you from the supercharged blast damage.
Water doesn't protect the player from blast damage. It only protects the landscape.
