Shadowhunters Fans Buy BILLBOARD in Times Square to Save Show

After raising thousands of dollars, getting millions of signatures and even buying a freakin’ plane to fly over the Netflix headquarters, Shadowhunters fans are back at it again with another attempt to save the show from cancellation. What’s left for them to do, you may ask? Oh, just casually purchasing a billboard in New York City’s Times Square.
Fans pooled their money together and rented an advertisement that ran briefly on Friday, June 29. The electronic signs broadcasted the words QUOTE “ALL THE LEGENDS ARE TRUE” and “#SaveShadowhunters” to the thousands of tourists, workers, etc., walking through the bustling section of NYC at the time.
One person wrote on Twitter after the billboard was revealed QUOTE “I'm so proud of us. We're really legendary.”
Someone else added, in all caps, QUOTE “THIS IS HOW YOU LOVE AND PROMOTE A TV SHOW!!!! THIS IS WHAT WE'VE BEEN FIGHTING FOR THE LAST EIGHT MONTHS SINCE OUR SHOW WAS ABANDONED!!! AND GUESS WHAT???? WE AREN'T LEAVING!!!! LONG LIVE SHADOWHUNTERS!!!!!!!!!!”
Harry Shum Jr., who played Magnus Bane on the Freeform series, saw fans’ latest effort and had a simple, yet powerful reaction. He tweeted in response to the billboard QUOTE “wow.”
Just days before, co-star Matthew Daddario got wind of what supporters were planning on doing and couldn’t help but be intrigued about what was to come. He replied with a curious emoji to a fan who said QUOTE “Very proud of this 😊😉 Looking forward to seeing the billboard.”
It’s been almost a month since it was announced that Freeform would not be renewing Shadowhunters for a fourth season, but fans are showing no signs of slowing down their efforts to getting the network to change its mind. They have a TON of reasons why the show shouldn’t be canceled, so we think it’s safe to assume the fight will continue for a long time. Do you think Shadowhunters should be picked up? It will be released. Once they finish that they'll film a 2 hour finale special and then the show will end, but it's ending because Constantine lost their Netflix deal so Netflix won't pay to produce it anymore which is a big chunk of where Freeforms budget comes from.

I think it's better as "just a show." Even if you put aside how different the characters are, it still isn't a good representation of the shadowhunters universe.

This show didn’t do that great with diversity or lgbt the fans had to fight them to make them do right by the poc and lgbt characters they had on the show and while they made improvements they continued to screw up and misrepresent these characters if they were really dedicated to diversity and lgbt they would make more of an effort to do better yet they continue to half ass it and why they continued to lose viewers, they can say ratings wasn’t part of the reason this show wasn’t cancelled all they want but ratings was part of it cause it brings in most of the revenue to make money and they said money was an issue
Why can’t they put freeform on a more global channel. This show has so many fans around the world that can’t watch it live because we don’t live in the USA. Let’s make this global. It’s filmed in Canada Paris and so many other places and we can’t see it with everyone else

Tali Dev Jenny Castillo if you check the show, be aware that the first season is super cheesy and super cheap. The show changed showrunners and got a much better budget to season two and just became awesome. So please hang in there until season two. You can watch just eps 1, 4 and 12 from season one then jump to season two if you can't handle the cheese lol but you will lose a lot of mythology.

Angela Zhang freeform can’t really do that cause they don’t hold the rights, the hold distribution rights but constantin films hold the actual rights to sh and only they can sell it to another network, freeform could sell the distribution rights for 3b to another network who wants to save it but constantin films has to be onboard as well that way 3b could air already and the new network it’s on can announce a new season so it really comes down to constantin films, they sell it to another network to distribute it or sell the rights but its seems they don’t wanna do that

The thing is, shadow hunters is really something you Absolutely love it, or hate it. Same thing with the books. I read the first two books and have watched one episode.. and I don’t know.. I’m just not feeling it. I hope that they will continue the show tho for the people who do like it

Eileen Davis But,netflix was a third party to freeform and they had dispute over the show and netflix pull out, and even after that ,they ask freeform to sell the show to them ,they refused ,probably out of anger that netflix pulled out ,so it is harder now cos freeform does not want to sell the show ,now they have seen what kind of fans the show has and thst thry messed up cancelling it ,yet they don't have enough money to go further with it without a second party ,so it begs the question,what did freeform want,they have gone crazy.
Very Impressive . Iam also a Shadowhunters Fan and to see that much Dedication from these Fellow Fans makes me Proud. I began to watch this Show randomly but i fell so fast in love with it and i watched all 3 Seasons.
