The DA knows they'll be on the streets again because the judges don't see this as serious misdemeanors. SF Judges will give them diversions which means no jail time, no repercussions. You get worse punishment for a SF camera of your traffic violation than shutting down bridges. So people will continue to shut down bridges and get off scott free.

A felony charge for false imprisonment is crazy. If I’m stuck in traffic because of an accident, is that false imprisonment? The people could have gotten out of their cars and left, so I don’t get how that’s false imprisonment. If you want to punish people for protesting in certain places, make a law that does that.
