Thank you 💕 It is a beautiful peaceful part of the world. It doesn’t matter what time of year you go it is always stunning xx Little Roxy is 4 today bless her! 💕 Rachel, David & Roxy
Looks a lovely site again and pub 😁😁😁👍 The bike was a great way to see the local area, we haven't been here before at all so very interested to visit hopefully in the near future 😁👍 thank you both, 🥰
Thank you - We really enjoyed it despite the weather, we love the western lakes as it’s a little bit quieter than the main areas but just as, if not more beautiful- well worth an explore, I’m sure you will both love it. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Cosy pub and good for Roxy. The ( only) lake looked gorgeous. Like the look of the campsite. Nice to see you out on your bike. Looked very peaceful. Think we’d like it there. Take care 😊🐶❤️
It was lovely and peaceful had a nice relaxed feel to it, in the summer imagine it would be a different feel but the western Lake District is lovely as generally so much quieter than other areas but with lovely places to go and scenery. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Thank you, hope you are both doing ok, thank you for watching, means a lot. Have a lovely rest of the weekend, David & Rachel ❤️
This looks like a brilliant site to stay. Shame about the rain though. I suppose that’s standard for Cumbria… you should just expect it haha. I’m now considering stopping here, thanks for the great informative upload!
Thank you - really appreciated. Yes you have to be lucky for the weather - it was late in the season too - nice break and scenery all the same - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Would l be fantastic in dry and sunny weather. The Pheasant had a great atmosphere and was great to get in out of the rain. Thanks very much - hope you’re both doing good and still looking forward to the new van and Tyler’s getting plenty of treats 😄 All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David and Rachael Nice to see you've been to Lanefoot in Thornthwaite a nice little site In the summer months it does get packed with tents there's three area's to it Did you see the camping pods and the 2 1960s caravans and shepherd's hut also for hire We used to go there with our tourer at weekend's and would be surrounded by chicken's Thanks for promoting western Lake district lately it's all on our doorstep take it for granted Malcolm and Sheila from Workington
We love the western Lakes and it brings back fond memories of when I used to visit my aunt and uncle who lived at High Seaton and I visited lots of places when I was a young lad. Yes spotted the units for hire but it was very wet so didn’t get chance to explore, would have loved some more time to look around. We loved the peace and quiet at this time of the year. There are so many other places to visit we will be back. Thanks very much for the comment, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Love the train at Bass station especially in the winter when you can see it properly. Looks like you had a great time, was there a lot of road noise from the 66 or were you far enough away. That bike looks tiny David, was it gifted to try, or did you buy it and if you bought it, are you happy with it. I expect you have to leave it outside when you're on a site though. Cheers K.
We will have to check that one out next time, looks really popular. On the campsite you couldn’t really hear it - if the wind was blowing from the direction I think you would hear a little bit but in the van you wouldn’t in most cases as far enough back I think. I bought the bike after lots of consideration - will do a review on it soon once I’m happy with my conclusion (warts and all!) - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hey, thanks for the video, been looking for an economical little touring caravan site/base so that we can visit Lake Buttermere by car and on Google maps this site looks close to the road that would take us to Buttermere, around 9&half miles ish. Can I ask how much it was to stay per night with 2 adults and electric please in 2023? Thanks. Oh by the by way - top tip - if you forget your bike lock again in future just ask the place your wanting to go in and I'm sure they will accommodate and look after your bike for half n hour or so, just politely ask, nobody has ever said no to me before 😊
Yes it’s not too far off Buttermere turn off - Thanks for the tip on the bike good idea. I think we paid £29 at the end of 2022. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David and Rachael It's Malcolm again type in RUclips search bar A66 flood's there's a video by Dan Franklin it's 1minute long and you'll see the A66 flooded from the 2015 storm The water came down the fells that fast it flooded the village of Braithwaite out totally and washed the road away up to whinlatter forest and came through the campsite at Braithwaite (Scotgate)
Wow, shows the power of the weather at times - surprising the damage it can cause when it runs off the hills at such a rate. Thanks for sharing, appreciated. All the best, David 👍
Hi Gill, it’s a MiRiDER GB3 bike (more Info is on the MiRider website) - I spent a lot of time weighing up the options and decided to go for the MiRider bike and went for the GB3 as it has gears on it which I thought would be handy. I’ve only used it a few times and will do a review of it but I’m holding off for a few weeks until I’ve used it a little more - so far I’m pleased with it though and it folds down and goes into a bag (which was extra to buy) and I can fit it in the back when travelling and on the front seat when on site so handy for security if you don’t want to leave bikes out overnight / when away from the van or parked up. Hope that helps, thanks for the comment, all the best, David 👍
@@LeisureBit thank you, that’s very helpful. I think I will have a good look at them when visiting the NEC next Feb and hopefully, you will have done a review by then also. Regards, Gill x
