Hi Jane, yes it was a pretty joyless experience but the food tasted good(!) and it’s another first out of the way. Bri & I used to keep notes of places we’d like to try and this was one we fancied. I also use BritStops sometimes, internet mooching, word of mouth, etc. Take care, Sue x

Hullo, I've just been introduced to your channel by Ken and Carol in the Little Red Camper. I have just recently been widowed, and they recommended I watch your channel, I'm battling a bit. I like your van, mine is very big, as we had it for so many years, and travelled together with our three teenage children, until they had enough. My husband and moved permanently into the van, but shortly after he was taken after a year and a half of fighting, everything out of the book that was thrown at him. I'm alone, it's an expensive van to run alone on my pension, I know I should sell it and buy something a lot more affordable, but until I feel I can let go I, hanging onto it. To make it worse, he passed away right here where I'm sitting writing to you. Difficult. I live in Denmark. You look as though you are doing well, I hope I can reach that stage.as you say, it's the lovely places that you miss him most, I just have this enormous hole in my chest. Empty. It is only 7 months ago now,
Hello Marion 👋. I’m so very sorry to hear of your devastating loss and struggle. From my own experience, 7 months felt like no time at all and things were still extremely difficult then. I’m glad you’ve reached out. If there’s any way at all that I can help/reassure you as you navigate this godawful life event and walk your own grief path I will happily do so. You’re not alone. We’re all so different but there are many commonalities and I can relate to all that you’re saying you’re feeling right now. I am just a couple of weeks away from being 4 years without my husband and have learnt so much and grown immensely in that time and yes I’m doing well now. Feeling more like my old self finally. You will get there too, believe me. If you want to ‘chat’, as someone who’s been where you are, please feel free to email me - my email address is in the ‘About’ section of my channel. It’s easier than by this comment. I might not reply immediately but I promise I will reply. Take good care and remember it’s true that things will get better 🙏🏻 Ps I started watching Ken & Carol when I was still very low, they reminded me a lot of me and my late husband. They then helped me to get my channel seen by their viewers and have been really supportive. They’re lovely.
@@CamperVanya yes they remind me of my husband and I as well. I still have difficulty watching their happy blogs, and I find music triggers me. Thank you so much for replying to me, I truly appreciate it.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing Sue. I must get a drone one day. Great views. What camera do you use for vlogging apart from the drone. Gave my thumbs up as usual. Stay safe. X
Cheers for that, appreciated. I love the drone and am just getting back into it since its altercation with a tree a while back(!). I’m also using a GoPro 9. ATB 😊👍
Ian, addition to previous reply, I’m using GoPro9 but not without issues. It’s started to have moments of inexplicable ‘freezing’ where you need to remove the battery to reboot. That’s easier said than done when you have it in the media mod, a mic, or gimbal attached - or worse, all 3! I know you’re good on your research so I suggest taking a look at DJI’s cameras - the Osmo Pocket, Osmo action, and whatever else they do because that’s what I’d do if I was searching again and if I decided to change in the future 👍
@@CamperVanya I already have the go pro 9 and media mod and wireless microphone. I haven’t experienced the freezing yet but my camera does overheat and shut down from time to time. I do tend to waffle on a bit though so it’s probably had enough. I have a question for you though Sue if you don’t mind.

@@CamperVanya I know how hard it must have been, and for what it’s worth you are helping me to get there too, so well done. Took so much for granted for so long, but having a van is essential I think to carrying on. I don’t feel alone at home and I won’t in my van, which will be home on wheels. It’s just the social stuff like eating out that hits the nerve. Keep on keeping on Sue x
That's a great stop over, lovely views. Take care 👍 Graeme
Cheers Graeme, I couldn’t fault that place 👍
Hey you got a drone brilliant , you have obviously taken to it straight away. Is it a DJI drone ? Nice video thanks.
Hiya, yes I’ve had a drone for a while now but haven’t used it for a while following a tree incident … it’s a mini 2 and I love it. Glad you enjoyed the vid. Thanks for watching 😊👍🏻
@@CamperVanya of course I remember now and the fav nephew who recovered it . I have a Air 2 but thinking of getting a mini 2 to take to Europe with us .
Take good care and remember it’s true that things will get better 🙏🏻
Ps I started watching Ken & Carol when I was still very low, they reminded me a lot of me and my late husband.
@@TravellingfromScratch Oh good, I didn’t want you buying it on my recommendation when I’ve developed serious reservations! Ask away!
@@CamperVanya Do you have a gas or diesel heater in your van?
Is it near Sedburg Sue.
Hi T&P, yes it’s about 10 miles away 👍
👍🚐
This was such a gem of a pub stop 😊👍🏻
Lovely video Sue. Great pub and food... and what lovely views..!! Thanks for sharing 😊
It’s a great little pub and park up if you’re in that area Gaz 👍🏻
Beautiful day, beautiful countryside. Lovely film. Well done for braving the pub on your own.
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it. Another ‘first’ overcome 👍
