- Camping in the English Lake District is always a pleasure and on this trip I stay at Seathwaite Farm Camping in Seathwaite, just off the Borrowdale Valley, near Keswick.
The camp site is right next to the farm, which is located towards the head the beautiful Seathwaite Valley.
There is direct access to the surrounding fells and mountains, with plenty of interesting lower and higher level walks along with waterfalls and tarns.
There is a shower and wash area in one of the farm barns, it is unisex and also has a washing up area within, all of which was in good condition and clean.
A toilet block is also located on the farm but this is owned and operated by the National Trust, who are the owners of the surrounding land, and in some respects not that adequate for the site if busy.
The site is within the Lake District National Park and has many interesting places to visit along with being excellent for motorcycle travel.
The nearest town and shops is Keswick which is located 9 miles away. The road to the farm is tarmac and the route through the campsite is hard compacted gravel.
On this trip I’m using my MSR Elixir2 tent, riding the Honda CB500X.

Another great review. Thank you for the additional information regarding the approach road and nearest shops. Spot on. 👍
Thanks Mike, I’ll include in all reviews from now on….if my aging brain remembers 😂 👍🏻
I have been using that camsite since the mid 1970s and return every few years to recharge my internal battery. Just peace and quiet and not too far to the local pub. Very popular with Coast to Coasters and Scarfell climbers.
@@user-TonyUK yes, feels like a million miles from anywhere… think I’m due a re visit soon
One more of your finds added to the “to do” list… great find and great review…
Cheers Gary, appreciate the comments and well worth a visit 👍🏻
One of the Best Campsites in the Lake District, often frequented by Coast to Coasters (like myself) normally a very quiet site with a handy Pub just past the Farm when travelling back towards Keswick. Follow the stream upwards to see fantastic waterfalls.
Wonderful place and next time there I plan to do some walking
Good review that thanks. I’ll be staying there in the next few months 👍🏼
Cracking good location 👍🏻
Awesome review mate, and I can also confirm this campsite is really good with awesome views. Pete the farmer was a real nice chap and very helpful and accommodating. I had struggled to get a campsite, but Pete helped me out and squeezed me in, which I was really grateful for, especially as this site is book only.
Thanks Pete.
It was great to meet you too Andrew and I hope we meet again sometime soon on our travels. My new tent looked good to on this video also lol.
Good to hear from you Andy and likewise very nice to meet you. Your tent will be making a separate short video soon 😂 👍🏻

@@andylancashire1978 I’ll post it when get I back from Corfu 👍🏻
Hi Andrew, I have great memories of the Lake District. My late Dad took me there on a walking tour about 40 years ago. I remember that I didn't have proper boots, do we rented a pair in Keswick. Thanks for this amazing throwback
Hi David, so nice to have memories come back at moments in life, hope you’re keeping well 👍🏻
Another gem of a spot. Think I'd need a spinning chair to soak in the mountains.
Keep up the Great Work & Thanks for taking us with you.
Another idea that you might want to look into is mentioning your PayPal & possibly setting up an amazon wish list? Looks like you could use a Gimbal.
Thanks TP, a spinning chair would be awesome 😆 The stars were out in abundance in the evening, completely dark on the ground, i laid back in my helinox chair, can of beer in hand, contemplating the universe….happy days!!!
I feel a bit uncomfortable pushing PayPal and lists, it’s just not in my nature, although it is an expensive hobby this YouTubing 😆 👍🏻
I had to look up what a Gimbal was 😆 but need a decent camera and laptop before that and can’t afford them at the moment…I’ll keep on fudging through for now 😂 👍🏻
There's great cell & go pro Gimbal's under $100 @@thecampingbiker791 . Just more to add to the wish list.
@@tpseeker3367 that’s not too bad price, I’ll look them up and funnily enough I do have a list but for me to purchase 😂 cheers for info 👍🏻
Gimme some time & I'll post a link @@thecampingbiker791
