Thank you for all the research you do and results you interpret and share with us lay people. The vast marketing industry has made it difficult to get to the facts. How nice to have a trusted resource in you! Much gratitude.

Well done! You are correct, and I am impressed that you started with the question as to whether the key protein can actually survive the acid & enzymes of the GI tract, and then cross the blood-brain barrier. Of course it cannot. The so-called "clinical trial" was a total sham, and the TV ads should include a background of Professor Harold Hill singing :"We have trouble, right here in River City, with a capital "T"...
Some people - including prior commenters - will claim observed benefit; this is either a placebo effect, or reluctance to accept they've been scammed.
I spent 40 yrs of my career in medicine evaluating the benefit - or lack thereof - of many interventions, and you re on point with this review. I will now watch more often!

Thanks for your research. After this, and watching 60 Minutes last night, (the blood brain barrier & opening it with US to allow entry), I’m starting to wonder if any of the many supplements that I take are necessary. Some I take per doctor’s advice. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

By the way, I was interested to learn that you studied at the Boston VA medical facilities. For more than 8 years I was the Associate Deputy Chief Medical Director for Clinical Programs at VA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
You are a good example of the benefit to the public resulting from the VA's role in medical education.

I've been using it for 10 years. I'm not a doctor so I can't speak to the science but I can tell that it improves executive function and word recall. Does that mean it makes me smarter? Maybe a little but when I stop taking it, I turn back to into a dimwit.

With all due respect, that is placebo effect. Per published scientific reports, the molecules can't cross the blood brain barrier.

@@icareforyourbrainwithdr.su7103 I'm totally with you Dr Sullivan which is why I bring this up. Not much of anything can cross the BBB. But there is a slight degree of permeability. We see this with caffeine, alcohol, some antidepressants. Very small lipid molecules can pass through. So here's where our own education starts to work against us. It can't be true, yet there it is. After doing this for 10 years, I know that the very idea of this being the placebo effect is impossible. If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts. I don't experience any significant increase in intelligence, but the word recall and planning capabilities (exec function) are clearly evident.

It works amazing for me. I’ve been taking it for a month straight because I had concerns with forgetfulness and brain fog. It was affecting my job which has to do with marketing. Because communication is a big part of my job, its helped my mental focus. I no longer have brain fog. My memory is back. I no longer struggle to find words and my mind is sharper. The only thing I would recommend is don’t drink too much coffee or anything caffeinated. Trust me, I wouldn’t be wasting $60 on this if it didn’t help me. The month of August and September my sales volume increased and became top producer of my team. The only reason why I came across this, is because I was literally struggling with severe brain fog and so I happened to stop by CVS and found it. When I looked up the reviews, it was all positive so I figured let me just try this and instantly it worked for me within the hour. All you can do is try and see if it works. I’m also on a very low carb, high protein and fat diet.

Thanks for all your videos about brain health. I'm interested in what your take is on using MRIs to treat depression...is it wise to modify brain activity this way? I think it's called Stanford neuromodulation therapy. My adult daughter underwent this last year and she seems worse off than before.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I am 66 and struggling with "MCI". I will probably be having my 3rd neuropsychological testing sometime this Spring. I have one of the APOE4 genes. I've had a stroke and 2 TIAs but found out in May that I had a PFO and had that repaired/patched in August so hopefully that issue is resolved. I had a brain MRI 2 weeks ago that apparently is normal with the exception of a "susceptibility artifact" in my right thalamus that apparently I've had since 2018 but will ask my PCP about it. I don't know if that has an affect on my memory. 🙏

So why does it work so well? Placebo seems to be always the answer. I know many a family member and friends (we’re all seniors) that benefit from it. In a way I wish it did not work as it is very costly. Maybe science is not always the answer.
