People this is a partial flush. The torque converter and valve body still have old fluid laying around. If you don't want to disconnect lines or pay to have your transmission flushed, I would recommend doing what this guy did except once you're done, repeat this step again after you have driven your car around for about 30miles. A true flush pushes all the fluid out of the entire cooling system and torque converter while the car is running.
NOTE: FYI The 2010 Traverse and newer, has an internal transmission filter. You can no longer change the transmission filter with a new gasket like the old models, the trans must betaken apart in order to change the filter.

In my high school auto class, my instructor said people just turn their car engines on and think that's enough to check the transmission fluid. He said you need to actually drive the car around for 20+ mins to warm up the actual transmission, hence the transmission fluid. Also, putting in the same amount of fluid ASSUMES your car didn't come with low transmission fluid from the manufacturer, or that there's not a leak or Jiffy Lube didn't close your dip stick cover not tight enough, allowing liquid to seep out at high speeds. Always drive the car around and then check the transmission fluid level while the car engine is running and in park.

    • @sideskraft

A flush requires the trans cooler return line to be removed, start the engine, let the trans pump out about a gallon, stop engine, add 1 gal of fresh fluid, and continue this process until you see fresh fluid coming out of the return line. This works for pretty much any vehicle and removes almost all of the old fluid.

David Sawyer from my experience with gm sealed transmissions, it should have another plug somewhere. You'll have to have the trans temp between 190-200 degrees then pull the top plug. When fluid is coming out it's full. Good luck, hope this helps.
