- 🚨 ATTENTION: THE GENERAL IS BACK 🚨
George Washington has arrived and he is here to take back his namesake in the ultimate expedition. Will he master the Metro? Can he conquer the crosswalk? Shall he seize all the sights?
The National Mall, the Wharf, and Union Market are just a few spots on his list 👀

I love when the General visits.
Wonderful! So engaging! "George" is certainly quick on his feet with responses to folks he meets. Mason, great job! (Drew's mom!)
Thank you for checking it out, Jo!
George Washington has always been one of my favorite presidents. After him would be Abraham Lincoln. I enjoyed the video as I’m sure Washington himself would’ve probably enjoyed.
John Pollock We couldn’t agree more 🇺🇸 Thanks for watching!
I think General Washington would be applaud at what we have done with the great gift that him and the other Founding Fathers gave us.
True! He would not appreciate the state of things nor would he like Trump.
Sadly so many people in that video have no idea who he is. Washington would be appalled at the lack of history taught in public schools today.
I read this in Hamilton voice
Welcome back commander!
This was so funny please consider making more.
Glad you enjoyed it! There will be another video with the General later this month - stay tuned!
This is so awesome. 👍🇺🇸
🇺🇸 Thanks for watching! 🇺🇸
i was both amused and reminiscing about my last summer in D.C.
We hope you got to see some of what the General did! DC is quite the adventure! 🇺🇸
I've been here since 1865.
I can remember as a child going to see the Lincoln home and on the train we got to meet you 'sir'.
What wonderful story's we heard and a great treat.😁
(Yeah even through we knew he was an actor, he never broke character and I'll never forget that wonderful trip.🤘👻)
Bullcrap. you're not even Abraham Lincoln. You can only dream of that. I get you. Its a joke but not a funny one. you're pretending to be a dead person to get attention from other people. and If Abraham Lincoln Was still alive today and saw this comment I think he would be really mad at you for pretending to be him for clout and attention
Lol 😆
Hos Excellency portrays his Excellency excellently.
7:39 IT’S A LITTLE LION!! I have no idea if that’s the reference they were going for or not but regardless it’s amazing! Thank you for the great content :D
I think Hamilton omg
George is very sharp, charming, and can offer up historical tidbits in his comments. Nicely done, Mr. President!
This made me smile 🇺🇸 I love it.
Love the helicopter going backwards at 11s
🤫 We'll credit that to Presidential Powers
I agree with President Washington: There is no place like Mt. Vernon. I loved the video.
Bravo!!👏🏻
Wish this was the original Washington.
Sir you look good for your age and your deportment is excellent
Thank you. 287 year young!
This is a cute video!!! Keep these up please!
I live in Maryland and would love to meet our beloved President some day !
Your home is beautiful. I first saw it when I was 6 years old and found the hidden staircase below your bed room sir. Very clever design.
I still have my hand painted post cards from
that visit in 1957. 🤘👻
Wow that's amazing! We certainly hope to see you again! 🤟🇺🇸
@@mountvernon I hope to come this summer with a friend from West Vergina. I will bring my post cards and give them to you so you and others can enjoy them too. 😙
Hope you had fun in DC Mr Washington
I'm going to Mount Vernon when I'm 21. I'm going to be 14 in April.
@Penultimate Hortator No one in my family can afford it. My dad's saving money so he can take me there on my 21st birthday.
Happy birthday in April ! I was born in April also. What a wonderful dad to do this for you !
You can go up into the Washington monument. I hope you & dad have a wonderful safe trip.I hope you get to see Arlington cemetery & Gen. Lee's home.
I live in Maryland. 🤘👻
We can't wait to see you! While it's not quite the same, here's our virtual tour to hold you over: virtualtour.mountvernon.org Enjoy and thanks for watching!
@@mountvernon I wish I still had the picture I took at General Lee's house when I was a kid. When you look out at the cemetery outside where the big white columns are I was standing at the last one on the left side and you could see a black figure with a Union cap and holding a musket.
Do you know of anyone ever capturing anything like that at General Washington's home or grounds?
I would not be surprised. Sprites often go to places they dearly loved. If I get any I will make hard copies and give them to you if you'd like.
Amazing! The General had a fabulous experience! And thank you, sir, for the Virginia curtsy, now I know how to do it properly and will show it in my History class :)
Excellent!
So cool I’m a huge history buff and been to dc I can’t wait to come back to visit
Well done!
Thanks for spying on us, General!
Absolutely so awesome.🙂

Enjoyed seeing you General! Planning on visiting this summer!
Happy to hear that Janine, it one of our best seasons!
I do not know how I am only seeing this now, but this is truely such an amazing video. XD Thank you so much for this lmao
Washington was a great man! He gave up great power twice! I could be wrong but has anyone else in history even done that? Best regards
I love these videos!!!
Hi George Washington!
This is what happens when you fight in two wars. 🤣
Love it!!!!!
I want to meet him
I'd really like to see the inside of the greenhouse, how it was operated, How George Washington created the climatic conditions to grow coffee and limes, Etc.
This is a great idea, we will pass it along to our team! Thank you for watching!
2.30 Minutes 😂😂👌🏻❤
📸
Will you make a video about talking about George Washington’s Presidential portraits
This is a great idea, we will pass it along to our creative team. As the General mentioned, he stood for the hands and head for the portrait but it was another fellow's body. In a deleted scene, the General explains that this is why the Landsdown portrait looks a little 'off' proportionally if you take a closer look.
Yeah, I’ve always been interested in learning about the works of art that the General was affiliated with learning about the importance of them and unknown facts about them
@@DustyB While it is not a video, you may be interested in our webpage we have about his portraits. We discuss George's thoughts and the history behind many of his portraits. From the early days of Charles Willson Peale's 1772 portrait of Washington in the Virginia Militia to James Sharples' take on Washington over twenty years later (1796). Let us know what you think! www.mountvernon.org/george-washington/artwork/life-portraits-of-george-washington/
Thanks for sharing the webpage, it was very interesting to learn about the general’s opinion on the portraits, and it was very interesting to see these works of art that may be lesser known.
Loved this! The only thing I would have changed is the accopaning music. It was irritating to listen to. Also, music of President Washington's time ,I think, would have been more appropriate.
Thank you for watching!
All those people who didn't care😐
I noticed that as well...very sad. I would have greeted him and kept in caricature by greeting this nice actor as Gen. Washington. It will be a thrill and a nice respectful thing to do.
*sips starbucks* 😎
0:09 Nothing to see here, just a helicopter flying backwards lol

Have you thought of doing one of him visiting the state of Washington?
That's a wonderful idea! We will pass it along to our digital engagement team.
Washington’s greatest challenge yet, an airport.
😂❤
This video was made on February 7, 2020, and this was before COVID-19 was declared a pandemic worldwide and everyone had to quarantine in their homes, practice social distancing, study and work remotely. I wonder how President Washington would've reacted to the pandemic if he were to see the empty streets and people wearing face masks?
P.S: I wanna see more videos of style of older presidents reacting to the modern world.
🎉❤❤❤
I love w😂
Though, in reviewing the incidents of my administration, I am unconscious of intentional error, I am nevertheless too sensible of my defects not to think it probable that I may have committed many errors. Whatever they may be, I fervently beseech the Almighty to avert or mitigate the evils to which they may tend. I shall also carry with me the hope that my country will never cease to view them with indulgence; and that, after forty five years of my life dedicated to its service with an upright zeal, the faults of incompetent abilities will be consigned to oblivion, as myself must soon be to the mansions of rest.
Relying on its kindness in this as in other things, and actuated by that fervent love towards it, which is so natural to a man who views in it the native soil of himself and his progenitors for several generations, I anticipate with pleasing expectation that retreat in which I promise myself to realize, without alloy, the sweet enjoyment of partaking, in the midst of my fellow-citizens, the benign influence of good laws under a free government, the ever-favorite object of my heart, and the happy reward, as I trust, of our mutual cares, labors, and dangers

Washinton should visit the very thing the made plans for the white house
General, It must break your heart how ungrateful, disrespectful and ignorant the democrats are.
On behalf of all the grateful Americans, we are so sorry how they desecrated your statues. After all you went through, suffered and endured, you don't deserve such gross belligerence.
