Can't they just take turns? Or have several reenactment sessions per day where each gets a turn? Why quench their spirit? Much respect to those keeping history alive!
As far as I can tell via searching the internet, the Chief has played the role every year since.
He definitely doesn’t have George Washington’s West Country influences Colonial Virginian accent down to a science.
The guy actually looks like George Washington and he has the part down pat. How could the judges choose otherwise? Maybe the rules change they need is to do away with the contest and put an age/appearance limit on who gets the part.
I hate to say but , the John your bragging about is not that higher level of acting or portraying from what I see in the video. Lacking passion and the feel of a real military man. Just doesn’t have the vibes. I’ve been to a lot of re-enactments and he could do better. His speaking is not natural for the moments and situation settings.
At least there is a competition to become Washington. Could have very easily been "I am Washington until I retire". To be the King, you have to beat the King. Sorry if that saying bothers you, but it is the truth!!
John Godzieba potrays Washington the best.
You all better do some more shopping around then. This guy really doesn’t have the natural feel of this caricature, no way.
