If I was that lucky I'd have a Norton instead of an MZ! 😂👍👍

Does the red section on the rev counter represent the power band?

More or less. It's quite wide on this bike as not so highly tuned. But yes, that's general idea 👍

Hi. Owning the same bike I can tell you, that the rattling at throttle release is ok to some extent. If it's very loud: It's either the piston having a little too much space in the cylinder. Worn piston rings or a worn gas slider in the carburetor. Checking the carb is probably the easiest task for now.
It sounds ok on your bike. As long as she doesn't rattle when throttle is open you're fine.

Really grateful for that. It's had full rebuild. New piston and rings. The rattle is on decelleration only. It did not make that noise before, I checked my footage. The builder says it is ring chatter and that it should pass in time. I'll wait till I get 500 miles in and reassess. It was not rebored as it looked like it had been previously, though long ago, with few miles of use. It's definitely okay on throttle. 👍

Ring chatter sounds like a valid explanation. But if cyl and piston are new and the proper fitting rings were used they shouldn't really chatter.
It may improve once parts are run in. Also the build up of combustion residue may settle the rings somewhat.
You're right to keep an eye on it. If it doesn't get louder or even improves you're totally fine. As long as you don't feel like you're losing any piston compression.

@@Dominik-fp4vcTotally agree on all counts. Compression measures good (120) so I'll check from time to time. New barrel, piston, rings, one day if necessary. 👍
