We need to see how the track in Pune actually shapes up. And imo, it’s better to have the race there because there are generally more avid F1 fans (or motorsport enthusiasts in general) in the middle and southern part of India. It’s accessible too since it’s in the central India.

I would definitely have Singapore one week after Sepang. It looks stunning and it shares borders with Malaysia, which means everybody could just stay there for a week (relatively in one place - minimise travel)
No, you can't. Because of singapore GP there is lower attendance in Malaysia. Wealthier singapore can fillful entire Marina Bay, but it doesn't with malaysian. Then, night race actually more attractive to European. If there a GP in ASEAN, it should only one venue. If people want more, please seperate that calendar so people can saving money to attend both GP. You know, ASEAN people is not wealth in average and doesn't too interested in autosport compared with European.
I see Singapore similar to how I see Monaco.. it’s more spectacle than anything. I would much rather have Malaysia on the calendar than Singapore if I had to choose one. But, unfortunately, money talks.
D'oh! Forgot about Singapore. Yeah.
FOM or Liberty tried to do that before but yeah both circuit bosses say no because it will mean the SEA pool of fans will choose either one. I love the South African circuit. Everything spot on but I would have swapped magny-cours for hungaroring 😊
When i heard "What a track, amazing" I smiled cuz me as a french my parents showed me the GP of Magny-Cours and i loved it! Also my parents showed me my grand-father's collection of old f1 car (1950 , 1960 , 1970 ,1980 and 1990 ) .Hope it come back in a season...
Edit in 2 minutes : in 12 round i saw that every track is on europe and Albert Park was only not in Europe
Hungaroring, classical hockenheim, nordschleife combined with nürnburg ring, imola and mugello, they have to be there
I just love malaysia. I've got F1 2017 and it's my favourite track by far to drive. There are so many corners which require a perfect turning point not to run wide or lose massive amounts of time. I love that. Turn 1 is so long and you need to end on the inside. That's easy to run wide. Then turn 6-7. The turning point and lift are so satisfying at that spot. You need to brake if you miss the turning in point for turn 7 and you're in the grass if you're early. It's super difficult to perfect. I like turns 8 and 9 as well but they are more regular corners where running wide isn't punished as hard. Then turn 14-15. God it's hard to brake right there. And the corner is deceptively sharp. Then you get two successive huge straights with DRS which means you can approach your opponent on the first and overtake them on the next. It's a great overtaking opportunity. I love it.
I see Sepang, I pressed like. ❤🇲🇾
Great List :D I think logistically & geographically it would make more sense to place Baku in 3rd and swapping Kyalami with Mexico City on the Timetable!
hockenheim... it makes me cry everytime I remember the old layout
I am indeed from India tommo , thanks for adding our track
12:18 That's because it is lol last one was Vettel's title winning 2013 Indian GP
Interesting list. For me, this is my preferred F1 Calendar, considering currently operating circuits, track quality, and human rights of host countries are outlined below. It is capped at 19 races and is divided by continent, places a two-week gap between races (for ample rest for the drivers and the team), and follows the 2023 calendar:
ASIA
March 3 - 5 Melbourne
March 17 - 19 Singapore
April 1 - 3 Malaysia
April 14 - 16 Korea
April 28 - 30 Japan (Suzuka)
Since F1 starts in Melbourne, I put Asia first since it would be easier to travel to Asia from Australia. Afterward, there is an eight-week rest period for all teams since the rest of the season will not have multi-month breaks until December.
EUROPE AND AFRICA
June 30 - July 2 Monaco
July 14 - 16 Britain
July 28 - 30 Austria
August 11 - 13 The Netherlands
August 25 - 27 Belgium
September 8 - 10 Italy (Monza)
September 22 - 24 Germany (Hockenheim)
October 6 - 8 Portugal
October 20 - 22 South Africa
I put the most prestigious F1 races in Europe (Monaco and Britain) first, with the Crown Jewel (Monaco) going first. Belgium and Italy have roughly the same schedules as in past F1 seasons. The re-addition of South Africa makes F1 a truly international sport.
AMERICAS
November 3-5 Canada (Gilles Villeneuve)
November 17-19 United States (Miami)
December 1-3 Mexico
December 15-17 Brazil (Interlagos)
I would have put Indy for the USA if not for the drivers complaining about the danger of its oval. COTA is nice but I saw the Miami layout and it looks like it has some pretty long straights for overtaking. I put Brazil as last given how it is oftentimes the last race in previous seasons and has produced so many epic races from what I’ve heard from 2007, 2008, and 2012.
Singapore, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil and the United States. All known for their human rights yes? What a joke.
From all of the Malaysian F1 fans, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thanks Tommo for including Sepang! Me as a Malaysian of course would love to have the race there again (in fact I live really close to the track). Too bad our economy has been very bad.
hey bro fellow malaysian what race you watch b4?
@@zacktan1403 i've been to 2008 Malaysian Grand Prix... The ticket price at grand stand corner was rm500. Worth it.
I watched races at Sepang for 10 consecutive years... it is a great circuit
Petronas alone could definitely pay for the F1 event, its not about the money, its about whats happened with the money. Probably went into the wrong pockets tbh.
I think Sepang is better for MotoGP.
When I saw South Africa!!
I'm actually surprised that daytona int'l speedway in Florida isn't a grade A track, that would be insane seeing F1 cars on the banking at Daytona
Americans do love their ovals do they lol, the rest of the world probably look at it and said boring as hell
@@shukriwafiq5220 ya us americans are like that
Baku doesn't disappoint. Agreed.
I remember playing in that track in France in f1 2006, and the last chicane was unforgivable. Indianapolis is my favorite track in that game.
Shoutout for Sepang! Proud Malaysian right here. Wish it was back on the F1 calendar :(
Bring back Sepang. BRING BACK SEPANG!
@@acapraichu4879 considering our economy and politics, we have to wait until our generation is PM
Not really....We can't make money from it , so it just wasted for nothing....Most of the Malaysian fans didn't like F1 either ....The tickets most of the time being sold to foreigner which so rare to come to Malaysia because of hot climate.....
YES being an american myself and was a indicar and nascar watcher before they regulated it to where there all the same car basically Indianapolis needs to happen again that track is so good.
So glad you included Kyalami
MALAYSIA 😍🏁
YEAHH
i like how you’re just a hard core fan all things considered. like india sapang brazil are fan favourites and india actually caught me off guard but fuck yes amazing completely agree.
On the Aus pick, Talem Bend just outside of Adelaide has reportedly not bothered applying for a grade 1 licence. It is designed for grade 1 events and can get the licence on short notice. I know it isn't but it is something to keep an eye on in the future.
Question: should we have the pre 2010 points system, we haven’t had many title challenges since then
Perhaps, interesting shout that!
Yeah 2012 was the last proper one
Wouldn't change anything. Convert the points for yourself
Yes
totally agree. The current system is shit because you don' have prospective and you can't really 'see' the gaps. The winner, second place and third get too many points
