Kratos isn’t weaker in the Norse games, he is definitely stronger in a vacuum. The difference is how used to fighting he is. Early 2018 Kratos hasn’t fought in ages, he’s stiff, his mindset isn’t there it makes him careless and messy and makes slow mistakes, any athlete knows the first practices after the off season feel the least comfortable even if you’re better than the year before. His ferocity has tempered, you no longer see him beating up mortals. Odin and Zeus may be similar strengths but Zeus was weakened before being attacked. Older Kratos may not need the same level of help to win this time.
His fight vs Heimdal is proof to him regaining his fighting acuity. In the Norse games Kratos doesn’t really have a jump in power, there’s no limit unlock it’s that he’s just finding the strength that was there. He sharpened the blade already tempered in Greece and beat a fully realized Odin only damaged from desperation.
@@myrixica4222 exactly, it’s not that he’s weaker in the new series but he’d probably lose to younger him early on but only cause he has been raising a kid and suppressing his rage. He still has rage and skill, it just needs to be worked back to refinement.
I can imagine like, him being another personality stuck there the entire game, and young Kratos is screaming towards his old self to stop acting like a softie Gets to this part, both are just silent and young Kratos comes out without any words spoken between the two
Kratos hates people or beings that want to take control and reign over everything, that's the one thing that hadn't changed about him, kills ares, his boss, kill zeus father of all gods in his homeland, basically the biggest boss, and now the all father.
If older Kratos didn't hold back hed be nearly unstoppable. Hes not as ferocious as he was im his younger years cause he doesn't wanna be that anymore. Hes more skilled and more capable...just more tempered. If something happened to boy though...no god could prevent whats coming.
FYI: Kratos had a complete access to ares' arsenal (his predecessor's weaponry) since he took his place, this includes even the blade of chaos. But he swore to never touch those weapons ever again, and he kept his words.
Considering what happened in the story Sindri deserved to be the one to do it Hopefully we see him again but him having time mourn and have the chance to return back to his old self but idk if that will happen
Makes me wonder if Kratos is the Canaanite god... Think about it, a god-slayer, and the account of Exodus, the 10 plagues are reference on killing the Egyptian gods.
I do appreciate that they make Odin basically a god-king-wizard that also knows how to use weaponry. Yes he's less physically imposing than someone like Kratos or Thor, but he's still a god of war and master of all magics, notably runic magic and the supposedly female magic of prophecy. Man is absolutely final boss material.
The only thing that would have made these new GOW games better was if Linda Hunt narrated I return to OG God of Wars games to here her voice yet in the new ones I long to here her ever more
One of the things I hate in video games is when you completely dominate a boss fight only to lose in a cut scene... its ridiculous.
they go from failing trying even scratch you to just throwing you aside with a single hand
I agree I think the cut scene you get should be on how well you play

He did that because he didn’t want to kill

The fact that Young and Old Kratos actually seem to be creating their own little dialog seems to make this better^^
The fact older kratos is stronger and yet young kratos makes everyone or everything look weak. Imagine if he stopped holding back 💀💀
Actually, the devs confirmed Kratos was in his prime in God of War 3
@@Mana__ meaning you can’t get stronger than your prime, meaning older Kratos by default is weaker
Im not sure that is true! The Devs have also told us that the Olympian gods only grow stronger with age
@axinhedgelion8417 not true, you can get stronger, but your dexterity and agility may suffer
@@axinhedgelion8417no they didn't
Lol when mimir said "don't forget me, all-f***** lol "
Imagine if old kratos kept all of his Olympian weaponry
Helio's head, Herme's boots, the gauntlets of Hercules, Artemis's Bow, all of it
Imagine a normal fight and suddenly Kratos whips out Medusa's Head. Nobody fucks with a guy like that unless they're mad.

The young kratos not gonna stand still watching odin like that, he's gonna straight hit that axe or blade of chaos to his neck
Yeesh Old Kratos allows Young Kratos to takeover to fight Odin. They both hate the all fucker

Love to see Odin trying to dialogue, but he just stops talking suddenly because of Kratos like
"Damn, he rocking my shit"

If it wasn't for Kratos in the Odin battle in the game, Odin would have won.
“YOU CHOOSE TO BE NOTHING!?… EAHHHHHHH!!!!”

i love how the boss is just an old man
I love how derpy odin is
Thor was my absolute favorite this version was awesome and i wish we got to see him more
Its crazy how Odin doesnt even hesitate

Ragnarök

What Atreus armour is that

So was the "intention" to make ALL the Norse gods look shit... or what?
Since this video is fanmade about younger Kratos then yes
