I saw this film for the first time at the age of 15 and I loved it. I can really relate to the character of Enid. Not because I behave like her, but because of her creativity, social awkwardness, and the feelings of not belonging. Enid knows what she doesn't want in life and who she doesn't want to be, but she doesn't know what she does want in life or who she wants to be and that's why she behaves the way she does. It's not because she's a "lazy, selfish bitch who only cares about herself" but because her life lacks direction. This is a character lot of people can relate to.
Mark Allen All life lacks direction considering we already know where we're going to end up. What we do until then is direction-less. The direction is only in our heads.
There is something special in this movie! I'm also like addicted to it, I'm watching a lot of movies but so so rare re watch and searching for some scenes in youtube. It's just ... just perfect.
Absolutely love this underrated movie. Top notch performances from all the cast. I really related to both Enid and Becka in different ways. Enid because like her, I had zero sense of direction after high school and didn't want to believe that life had started and I had to become an adult. But then Becka was really familiar as I used to have a friend that was even more lost than me and I'd spend ages trying to get her to grow up. Fantastic film.
"I'm taking a remedial art class for fuck ups and retards." Love Enid's dad's reaction at 5:17. Just hide in the refrigerator until the awkwardness goes away. :-)
PLEASE, i need help about one song from this movie. It's called "Gonna have fun" by Sirens (performed in restaurant blind date scene). It doesn't exist on RUclips and Pirate bay, i really don't know where can i find it to listen or download... i'm searching it for years!
Funny, a simple movie with retarded childish quotes can be one of the best movies of all time! 2:36 is my favorite, her facial expression while saying "Seymore" is unbelievable LMFAO
So weird how enid and becky remind me SOOO much of me and my now ex best friend laura :o We used to do the same things and do pranks etc. But then i moved schools and everything changed. We don't talk anymore sadly. This is a good movie tho!
:59 "Sacrifice virgins and stuff" "Guess that lets US off the hook" (both giggle)...I always hated that line; it's a lame teenager wannabe badass thing to say amongst the rest of the brilliantly sarcastic/witty lines in this movie. It made me make the same face Rebecca makes at Melora when she calls the diner "funky!"
This is a great, very funny movie, but this clip takes these moments out of context, and makes them less funny. The vibe and the heart of the movie is missing. I think it's better to watch the whole movie to really appreciate it's humour.
0:05 I thought the 2 leads were actually dead this whole film (hence: Ghost World title)....as in, they died in the car accident that that girl in the wheel chair survived...thoughts??
title: Ghost world plot: they don't fit in (like they're ghosts walking around observing) early scene at the high school Grad.: girl in a wheelchair that survived a car accident (but the 2 lead characters died and are back 'observing' the grad ceremony) Old man on the bench: Dead too...he's the only one they can talk to (he's trapped on the earth plain still, until 'the bus' comes along to take him to the higher plain The rest of the characters are just in the girls' heads don't know! :) just my idea (mainly from the title)
a film major? wow really...I'd better shut up then :) you really know your stuff! let me guess...you've seen and analysed Battleship Potemkin and Citizen Kane, so now you're a full bottle
I find it really unfortunate that the comedy sort of descends as the movie marches on. It starts off really strong and ends with Steve Buscemi sleeping with the kid from Hocus Pocus. It gets to real, and Enid goes from lovably cynical to frustrated manic depressive. The jokes just run into rage after a while. Still like the movie though, just not as much as I would like to.
...but anyone who volunteers such details is kind of lame by definition. Has nothing to do with whether sex is "bad" or not. Its sort of like if you went to a party and someone was going around saying, "I had 3 beers, 2 cocktails, and 1 1/2 shots." Its lame because they think mentioning that makes them cool; its not lame because drinking is "bad" Get it now?

Mark Allen That was a fine contribution Mark, thank you for your clarity.

That's so true.
I love it when Seymour says "Jeezus"

Who would have thought that i found Thora Birch hotter than Scarlett Johansson in this movie!
"Can we call you 'Weird Al'?"
"I'd imagine so."

scarlet johansson's voice is deep as fuck
Doug was the funniest character in the movie and the store owner is a close second.
I kind of want to just get on a bus and leave my current life behind.
+Henry C Fisher Did that crazy guy at the bus stop tell u that?
He wasn't crazy. The bus ultimately picked him up.
Do you still want to leave your current life by a bus? Did it get better?
"can we call you weird Al?" "I imagine so..."= priceless...
Looks like a live action *Daria*
Daria gets it. Enid is just pretentious to feel important.
you have to see the whole movie
I love this movie sooo much!
amazingly well curated. thanks for the compilation.
3:54 - a "nice outfit" insult coming from a wear wearing THAT?? lol. He looks like a guy from northern Canada about to go on a hunting trip.
"Everyone's too stupid." yup nailed that one
I saw this movie years ago and really... i think this is amazing.
My favorite part.."my friend here says.." "SHUT UP!" LMFAO!

I loved this comic. I can't wait to see the movie.
Inid is amazing. I understand the depression that comes with being a creative person. I love Danial Claus.
6:38 lol this is the funniest scene in this film. So funny that I laughed so hard lol
All my favourite scenes as well!
The girl with the glasses is like...the girl of my dreams. she's gorgeous.

Love this movie sooo much. I have exactly same character, attitude Enid does, her behavior and looks (short, dark hair and glasses) :D
how depressing
13istaken you know that this movie is criticizing those characteristics
13istaken Yep, me too - I got the green hair too.
@@ppwalk05 Um, not really.
Funny, a simple movie with retarded childish quotes can be one of the best movies of all time! 2:36 is my favorite, her facial expression while saying "Seymore" is unbelievable LMFAO
"What is she black know?"

"God, fuck you!" "FUCK YOU." "Fuck you, too..."
Hahahaha.
love thora birch what happened to her
ohh OHHH how PUNK! I died laughing.
The ending actually made me kinda sad.
The more I see this I'm like dude I'm a mix of Beca and Enid. It's really weird
yeah, I agree. I think the first half of the film was kinda better than the second half, mostly because of the comedy keeping everything together?
Good hipster movie: Ghost world
Bad hipster movie: Juno
1:23 its doofy from scary movie :)
Sum Of mY fave too! XD
What's wrong with Juno? I loved it.
So weird how enid and becky remind me SOOO much of me and my now ex best friend laura :o We used to do the same things and do pranks etc. But then i moved schools and everything changed. We don't talk anymore sadly. This is a good movie tho!

I love Enid, she is basically my girlfriend. lol.
I LooOoOove this movie. Foonkey. :D ^^ xD
did Rebecca and Josh end up together?
This is a great, very funny movie, but this clip takes these moments out of context, and makes them less funny. The vibe and the heart of the movie is missing. I think it's better to watch the whole movie to really appreciate it's humour.
And now "Josh" is dead...-What a shame.

Hipsterception.
0:05 I thought the 2 leads were actually dead this whole film (hence: Ghost World title)....as in, they died in the car accident that that girl in the wheel chair survived...thoughts??
interesting theory. On what basis?
title: Ghost world
plot: they don't fit in (like they're ghosts walking around observing)
early scene at the high school
Grad.: girl in a wheelchair that survived a car accident (but the 2 lead characters died and are back 'observing' the grad ceremony)
Old man on the bench: Dead too...he's the only one they can talk to (he's trapped on the earth plain still, until 'the bus' comes along to take him to the higher plain
The rest of the characters are just in the girls' heads
don't know! :) just my idea (mainly from the title)
you shouldn't be allowed to watch films because that is the dumbest theory i've ever fucking heard
a film major? wow really...I'd better shut up then :) you really know your stuff!
let me guess...you've seen and analysed Battleship Potemkin and Citizen Kane, so now you're a full bottle

can I please ban the word hipster from the internet, it is ruining this film for me.
wow american sense of humour is absolutely shocking
my ex is now with a girl that looks like the one buying the dress at 6:38

arisztidoltz i kinda think thats the point. it kinda just follows Enids downward spiral.
@charzillah hipster
