𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱: march / autumn
𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: south island (12°C-18°C), north island (20°C-25°C)
𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸: a light down jacket, good mix of thin & moderately thick layers, heat tech, comfortable pants (for ultra comfort on the long car rides!), a scarf and beanie (for when the temp drops at night!)
𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱?: most places accept card and contactless payment! but if you dont want to incur the card fee, then take some cash with you!

it was our first ever trip to New Zealand and we managed to cover both North and South island in just 12 days! 👀
earlier in March, we finally visited NZ with my family for the first time and it was such an amazing trip that I had to make sure I documented every single moment and day down!
we all flew into Christchurch, and made our way downwards towards Queenstown at the end of 7 days. we then flew from Queenstown to Wellington in the North Island and drove upwards to reach Auckland at the last leg of our trip.
we booked all our activities via Get Your Guide and most of our accommodations were booked through Airbnb (apartments/homes makes the most sense for a big group!). i'll leave you to it to watch the video to see how much fun we had and the links to everything will be below 💗

Hi Gillian! Thank you for bringing us along to NZ & for the detailed itinerary. Just wondering, since you were there in March (supposedly warmer period) - what was the temperature there like? Y’all still look dressed for the cold haha! Also, what time did the sun rise & set then? :)
💗 thank you for watching Celine! I think it was around 12-17 deg on most days over at the South Island and the winds were pretty strong so it does feel a little chilly sometimes. But for the North Island side, it was much warmer - 20-25 deg so we wore thinner layers like a cardigan and that's it! Sunrise was around 7:30am and sunset was 7:30pm! Half a day of sunshine 🌞
January and February is warmer. February is quieter as children are back at school
Plan to visit in April 2025😊

March! It was autumn but some days were really so warm that wearing a jumper would be an overkill haha 🤣
