Thanks for making this video! If you are to redo the trip, would you visit North Island? I'm planning to bring my elderly parents there in April 2025 and it's my mum's dream to visit NZ. I been NZ before but only been to the south. TVSM!
@@tayflorence I think I would still visit North Island especially for the Hobbiton set since we grew up watching LOTR! But honestly, if not for that main attraction, I might skip North Island and save more time to leisurely explore the South instead, especially with family around :)
@@dayswithyou__thank you dear! Will focus on the south then! 🥰
Congrats! I have several questions for you: How did you make your film? Alone or with a team? If alone, what software or application did you use? Thank you for your answers
@@emilielecomte974 I filmed it all with just my iPhone and compiled the footage into a vlog through Adobe Premiere Pro ☺️
Enjoying your videos so far! Can I know where you got your bracelet? The one that’s quite thin! Looks really good on you!
so glad you enjoy them! i got my bracelet from curious creatures :) it's from their permanent bracelet range!
bittersweet ending ❤️
yess, forever etched in our hearts and memories! 🥲
See you, I feel so sad when I see LT crying :( hope one day you can live in Australia. I also hope one day I can move there
i know right 🥲 can't help but tear up a little every time that scene comes around. it was heart-wrenching. i hope we both can find our way there someday!!
ahh such an heartwarming video! I’m sure a lot of effort has been put into editing this :’) Hope you and LT adapt back to singapore life well!! 🥰
😭 thank you for watching it and for the well wishes! makes all the effort worthwhile. it really did take a lot of effort, but mainly emotional effort not to burst into tears haha.
Bittersweet ❤❤
🥲🥲 without a doubt!
LT got fired in Brisbane hence decided to move back to Sg?
It was a short-term work assignment, so since it was completed, we moved back to Singapore :)
@dayswithyou__ i see :/ sad to hear that u guys won't be staying in brisbane, been viewing ur videos since u guys at oz :) look forward to more videos in near future!
@@ivylee0922 aw thank you for the support! really appreciate it, and for sure, more videos coming soon! 🥰
Glad you liked it! Hope you had a great time.
We really did! Great memories we will hold close to our hearts always :)
One of the best vlogs I've seen in awhile. Makes me really want to go to New Zealand. Thanks for this!!!!
Hi! May I know how long did you stay on Maria island?
Hello! We didn’t stay overnight because we were afraid it would be too cold, so maybe around 6 hours or so? We took the last boat back!
this is so peaceful
🥹🤍
I just discovered your channel, oh wow! your videos are cinematic and calming
why thank you! it means a lot to us that you enjoyed the videos! 🥰
Hi have you guys experienced any sand flies bite in NZ? Im thinking to go but hearing about sandflies gives me anxiety 😢
Hello! We only saw more sandflies around Milford Sound area, but other than that, we didn't even notice them around. No bites either as we were completely covered! Maybe bring some bug repellent with you to help keep them away? :')
@ Will do. Thanks for your reply! ;)
Enjoyed watching your vlog! I just got done exploring New Zealand with my husband and we loved it! Your edits was very calming! Can you please share what type of camera you use during your vlog? Thank you in advance!❤
Thank you for the very kind words, and I'm glad you enjoyed NZ as much as we did! I used my iPhone 14 Pro Max for this vlog because I didn't want to bring a heavy camera around haha
Hi can I know how much do u spend on car rental. And from which company thanks
@@hrntbudi1683 hello, we spent around $160-200 NZD a day for car rental and we booked ours through apex for both north and south island :)
As a Singaporean, this looks amazing, but all that went through my mind was wow this is boring. I understand this slower, gentler pace of life is something many people desire, but I feel that only after you've made your money and become very successful from Singapore, does this make sense. I mean, this kind of life is not going anywhere? Brisbane/Aussie will always be chill. Also, the rising cost of living could outpace you in Brisbane too if you're not well established already.
Yeah we totally get that this life isn't for everyone, but we didn't want to wait till we finally achieve financial freedom (which usually is at retirement, or late 40s) to start enjoying the life we prefer. Usually at that point, there's so much more responsibilities and something like this just becomes impossible to go for. You mentioned very valid concerns around the rising costs of living, which is why we're also constantly striving to see how we can make a life like this sustainable. It's our dream to be here, or anywhere else that soothes our souls, so we're definitely happy to strive for it :)
hi! may I asked how many pax did you travel with and what car did you book for your travel? any car rental company recommendations? thanks in advance!
hello! a total of 6 pax and we booked a hyundai imax for us to sit comfortably and accommodate all our luggages as well. we booked through apex car rental - they have always been reliable, and prices are competitive! :)
I am a fan, and I have already watched all of your videos, I love all the things in your videos, especially your voice here and on the New Zealand trip, please keep it up on your next video, your video made my day, thank you so much

Thank you for making that vlog. You've definitely given me a few more ideas for my trip. All the best to you and the family
That's so wonderful! Hope you'll have great weather on your travels :) Stay safe and have lots of fun!
Thank you for doing this vlog! I actually planned most of my itinerary quite similarly to yours before I saw this vlog haha so this is like a sneak peek into what I'll be experiencing soon :). Its informative about the Highlanders Cottage + enjoyable to see what the terrain looks like when I'm hiking Cradle Mountain. Do respond here if you have any recommendations or things I should try. I'm flying in exactly 11 days from this comment date. Thank you for the vlogggg!!! :)
I'm excited for you to go on your trip!! It will be so much fun, and probably much colder as well. Hope you have a lot of warm clothes packed to keep you nice and toasty hehe. I'm not sure if you will be passing Launceston but if you do, please try Tinka! Their food is really delicious. Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm & Cafe is also a great place to stop at after your time at the cottage :)
@@dayswithyou__ I’ll be sure to pass by Tinka if I have time. It’s actually 11 mins walk from my hotel in Lauceston :))) Thanks for recco!
Oh nice! Works out perfectly hehe hope their food and coffee is as good as when I had it :)
when were you there excactly? I‘m pretty sure you said in winter but I‘m confused because you‘re outside in tshirts 😂

Well done. 12 days is not normally enough but you managed it and didn’t look rushed. Glad you enjoyed our beautiful country and tried out new experiences
Thank you for your kind words! Yes we were a little worried that it would be too rushed, but it all worked out perfectly :) Loved our time there, and already eager to be back!
Plan to visit in April 2025😊 Thank you for your information
Oh nice! Love that you're planning ahead! Hope it was helpful for you 🤗
We too planning in mid April
hi guys! just a disclaimer - 🥸 wanna correct some errors that i missed before publishing the video: ❗it was still autumn when we visited in March, which is why the sun sets later (not because it's nearing winter as i originally said!) ❗hobbiton is of course in New Zealand, and not Australia (i've done too many Aussie vlogs that i got mixed up in the VO!) tysm for watching the vlog, and for all your love towards the voiceover so far!! 🥰
Hobbitin us in new Zealand not Australia 😮
Haha yes! Been doing Australia vlogs for too long... 😅 clarified it in the pinned comment above!
Hobbiton is in NEW ZEALAND NOT Australia
Oh good! Glad you watched the vlog till that far hahaa 🤣 I only realised the mistake after the video went live but yes, it’s in NZ hahaha
How did you like Highlander cottages? We're booked in to stay there for 3 nights in May next year. We've been to Tassie before, but not to Cradle Mountain.
We loved it! Definitely can get quite chilly in the cottage, but there's electric blankets, heaters and a fireplace to keep you warm. It's also just a short walk to the visitor centre so it's very convenient especially if you plan to hike :)
miss your voice!! I'm going to new zealand soon so this was helpful! love the sights so beautifulllll

Hi Gillian! Thank you for bringing us along to NZ & for the detailed itinerary. Just wondering, since you were there in March (supposedly warmer period) - what was the temperature there like? Y’all still look dressed for the cold haha! Also, what time did the sun rise & set then? :)
💗 thank you for watching Celine! I think it was around 12-17 deg on most days over at the South Island and the winds were pretty strong so it does feel a little chilly sometimes. But for the North Island side, it was much warmer - 20-25 deg so we wore thinner layers like a cardigan and that's it! Sunrise was around 7:30am and sunset was 7:30pm! Half a day of sunshine 🌞
January and February is warmer. February is quieter as children are back at school
I LOVE THE VOICEOVER ❤ and NZ too!!! heheh
Naww hehe tysm!! NZ is really just too beautiful 💗💗

Your life my dream!!! 🥹
Haha take a yolo trip!!! 😜
The GOR drive is certainly beautiful, but it's also one of the main tourist attractions in Victoria, and because it's mainly seasonal (can get very cold in Winter) it's always very expensive. Also as an FYI, we heard during Covid that according to the Southern Rock Lobster fishery in Australia, they need to sell Lobster locally in Australia at $50 per kilo just to break even. That's why most of it is exported overseas to countries that are willing to pay more.
Yeah! We wanted to check it out together, since the last time I visited the GOR was when I was a kid. It's still as beautiful as ever! And wow, interesting about the prices of the lobsters during covid. Seems like they kept the prices up even after though - i saw several recent reviews citing prices for half a lobster going at $50-60! That's pretty high!
@@dayswithyou__ yeah that is a bit of a rip off. Lobster shack in Cervantes WA used to sell half lobsters for $30, but even they sell for around $40-45 now. Everything is soooo expensive these days!
