    Great video. You have pushed me to buy a slug of cheap lures to play with during the winter. Cheapish hobby that me and my kids can do together

    They really show good, it's another level in lure painting, it seems way more of a hassle then the other paints, but you do get to go to the next level. Outstanding transparency!

    Great video mate! Just my two cents of advice, 4040 bleed checker is not necessary on metallics or pearls. Candies do not bleed through those kind of pigments, Only through regular paints. So when you are going to airbrush details or regular paints on top of a candy, then a bleed checker is needed, or actually any type of clear coat is enough. Another great tip, 4050 works better as a carrier then 4030, it is thicker and therefor you can apply thicker coats in one go, will save you time and you can layer your candies heavier in one go 👍also you will have less tip dry with 4050. Just some friendly advice here, I do not mean to criticize anyone's work 😊

      😁👍Your advice is welcomed here😁👍 A few months ago, someone recommended trying Pledge clear floor gloss acrylic as a bleed checker. I purchased some Pledge and ran a controlled test on clear plastic spoons using the following clears over deep purple candy 2.0, then coated with opaque white . 4030 balancing clear, 4052 matte UVLS, pledge gloss clear, 4040 bleed checker. Createx bleed checker performed the best during the test. I didn't have any 4050 gloss UVLS at the time of the test. I now have 4050 gloss and shall conduct another test as soon as possible. My test results were #1-4040 bleed checker, #2-Pledge, #3-4030 balincing clear, #4-4052 matte UVLS.

    That was awesome great job setting up the video didn't know they had that many candy colors. A gold base also looks good and gives it a different look.

      Yes I clear coat the bills. These lure blank spines were in rough shape also the bottom hook eyes were loose. Check out the community section of my channels home page to see some pics of the prep work before painting.

    so you used the silver as your base? No white or balck underneath?

    • @BlindSymmetryLurePainting
      @BlindSymmetryLurePainting  Год назад

      I only used silver on those lures. I didn't use white under the silver because I didn't want to get white overspray on the clear bellies. I normally use white or black base when using silver. Thanks for watching

    Hey bro I am having big problem rn with the gun I'm trying to shoot bleed checker but its not even coming out of gun I tired what you told pull it but its coming bit and destory my bait .. please help what do I need to buy for it ... the bleed checker is barely¬ even coming out ..

    • @BlindSymmetryLurePainting
      @BlindSymmetryLurePainting  2 года назад +1

      When I spray bleed checker I use my blaster. The blaster is a converted Iwata hp-cs, swapped out the .35mm needle and nozzle with a .5mm needle and nozzle. .5 at 35-40 psi.

    I am Getting ready to start painting lures. Do you need to use a airbrush booth with a vent for water base paints?

    • @BlindSymmetryLurePainting
      @BlindSymmetryLurePainting  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely. Anything to reduce breathing in the airborne overspray should be priority. My spraybooth is a 388-cfm, and is vented outdoors, my filter is just to reduce paint build up on my window screen. Along with the vented booth I wear a filtered N99-RZ mask and have a 20" box fan with a high quality filter attached for filtering the studio when spraying heavy. Though we use "water based" paints, the pigment, I believe is a very fine plastic that can build up in the lungs, and haunt you later on in life.

      Check my videos description, I left a link for the lure turner. The lure turner is made by Flex coat

  • @markoharoldoronearmedpoohb7816
    @markoharoldoronearmedpoohb7816 2 года назад +1

    Candies and Inks have the finest pigments, that's way they are very transparent, I have been experimenting with Alcohol Inks,
    Same effect less steps. The finest pigment paints cost more, to the largest pigment paints that cost less. Wal-Mart cheap paints can't be thinned to much, or they look splotchy. You pay for what you get!

    What can be done to get rid of the air bubbles that are showing on the main bodies

    • @BlindSymmetryLurePainting
      @BlindSymmetryLurePainting  2 года назад

      Probably a heat gun right after dipping. I get bubbles from dipping the lures in the clear coat to fast. Was rushing because I had 17 to clear.

    Why didn't u lay base white

    • @BlindSymmetryLurePainting
      @BlindSymmetryLurePainting  Год назад +1

      I saved a little time not adding a base. Though adding a base white could've made the silver pop a little more. Thanks for checking out the video.

    Did you clear them with KBS?

    • @BlindSymmetryLurePainting
      @BlindSymmetryLurePainting  Год назад +1

      No, these lure were cleared in "hurry" with flex coat lure epoxy gel coat. I could've easily popped the bubbles with the torch. Because the lures were made as reference pieces, I didn't care about the bubbles. Normally I don't get any bubble using flex coat but, I was just slapping it on.
