      Completely different topic. But I wanted to know how the pvc decking or the jon boat is holding up. Is there any warping, splitting, cracking, does it clean easily or stain easy. You pros and cons. Your build with pvc is the only one I’ve really found. Any feed back would greatly be appreciated. better yet some recent footage would be awesome. And if it was a total flop I’m sorry but I wouldn’t want to make same mistake. Feedback please.

    That silver finish is real nice Franco! Had to smile at the different paint jobs on the the top water lure. On attractor type flies (that don't imitate something specific) multiple color combinations are often suggested. The trouble with that is you end up with several boxes full of flies that you never use. With limited time to fish, we always default to our high-confidence favorites and the rest never get wet. Thanks for posting!

    I haven’t gotten set up to do silver plating yet. Thats a winter project for me. I have some smooth blanks to work with and experiment with. My question is: I am in the process of making another master with the scales pressed in. So, when I mold, the scales will be on the lure blank. You indicate the lure must be smooth/shiny. Will the silver plating work on blanks with the raised scales?? Thanks for all your videos!!!!!

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  2 года назад +1

      The amount of perfect reflectivity in the silver is directly Proportional to how smooth The surface is. You will have to do a bit of experimenting to see how much resin clear coat to put on To get a good Silver finish without obscuring your scales.

    Thanks for the video, I have to say your media is extremely informative and valuable. Out of curiosity, do you find the lures tarnish if not being treated properly before clear coat? Or is the clear coat enough to inoculate any tarnishing if the surface isn't touched in-between the silver application, painting, and clear coating?

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  2 года назад

      You have to put a protective coating of the correct clear coat before painting. Then you clear coat again as a finish.
