Cutting Fabric for Applique with Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Maker

- Step by step tutorial on how to cut fabric with a Silhouette Cameo 4 using the rotary blade and use it for applique on your machine embroidery projects. I also show you how to set up the applique fabric cut in Silhouette Studio Software. This can also be done using a Circuit Maker and rotary blade.

***If you are looking for the next step up from the PE800, the machine I would recommend is the Brother Innov-is NQ1600E - shrsl.com/28ivb This machine has both a 5x7 and 6x10 hoop so you can do bigger projects. Also it has extra features like it stitches faster than the PE800 so you finish things quicker and it cuts you jump stitches, which just trust me on this, you will LOVE this feature . This machine in a nice jump up from the PE800 but still much more affordable than fancy multi-needle machines that cost $$$.

Last thing. Are Placement and tacking and "?" files three different files or three layers on same file?

Which version of Studio do you have? I have the Cameo 4 and the Business Edition with the latest version 4.4281. My PES files are not uploading to Studio. Causes an error and forces Studio to shut down. I downloaded a couple legacy versions of Studio but does the same. 😕
I'm sorry you are having trouble. I also have the Business Edition and version 4.4.281 Have you tried contacting Silhouette customer support? They may be able to help you. I hope you get it fixed!

I have a new Silhouette cameo 3 and I have not make the 1st cut properly. I brought it to cut out applique then download to my sewing machine
The Cameo 3 can cut fabric but doesn’t support the rotary blade like the Cameo 4. You will need a fresh racket blade and use it only for fabric. Make sure you iron heat n bond lite onto the back of the fabric before you cut and use a strong hold mat so the fabric doesn’t move when it’s cutting 😁
Does anyone have updated numbers for cutting on with the silhouette cameo 4? Force speed and depth?
Lately when I have been cutting fabric on my Cameo 4 I have switched to using the felt setting. It uses more force than the woven fabric setting and I get much cleaner cuts. This is with the rotary blade though and not a regular blade.
what version of silhouette are you using? i have designer and just tried to pull in a font, and it wont allow me to.
I have the business edition. Sorry I didn't realize that edition was needed when I filmed this video.
