Fellow F80 owner. Absolutely love the car. Spikey power delivery so you need to respect the car, but it's absolutely amazing. Also now much lighter than the new G80, and better looking IMO.
Awesome review, agree with almost everything you’ve said, owned my 68 plate M4 comp for just over two years now and 20k miles, it’s now stage3 and 640bhp! There isn’t much on the road in the dry that can touch it. I will say though that you really only want Michelin PS4S or Conti sport contact7 to get best use out of power delivery and handling. Keep up the good work.

The good thing with the S55 and S58 (and N54 1M and N55 base M2) is that they use the same oil that “regular BMWs” use, which should make them somewhat more affordable to maintain, as I believe the “special oil” that the old N/A M engines might cost a bit more.
My mate had a tuned m4 competition and it was terrifying. He ended up parking it in someones front room by mistake and did nearly half a mils worth of damage 🤦🏼♂️ Was an amazing car though, acceleration was mind bending...
Fantastic car, perfect for a driver. This 4 series shape is the best and nothing newer comes close, the i4 is hideous, the new 5 is ugly and the 3 well lets ignore that. Great video.

One thing I've always thought BMW did well was the "aggressive but subtle" look; Even a layman can look at it and just *know* this is not a peasant-spec company car without it being garishly over the top, and this is a good example. The styling leaves no doubt this is seriously fast car but isn't covered with big wings and sticky-out bits. Sure the carbon styling pack do emphasise it a lot more but it's still relatively subtle. It's an art BMW just binned with the "Beaver teeth" grille for the current models. It just looks hideous. The lads did a great job and were a treat to watch. I'm a fan of people like Freddie Tavarish and the Tansformotion lads are definitely in the same vein.
46.6Mpg is exactly the same as I managed out of mine, decent tyres do cost close to £1k, servicing is reasonable until you get to the year 4 service, then it’s around £1200 at a dealer. The car was a beast, would spin the rear tyres when flooring the accelerator on a damp motorway in sport plus. My Mercedes E53 estate has more power on paper, but weight is a killer, it’s a lot slower. Not less comfortable though, which surprised me.
Is it that big of a job on s55? On n55 and b58 all you need to do is to remove a bunch of plastic and rubber pieces, and the strut brace. The only “specialty” tool you need is a 14mm magnetic socket. It’s a 1 hour job if you do it for the first time
I test drove the Alpina B4 and the M4 back in the day. Bought a new M4. Great fun in the dry. Lack of traction in the wet was laughable. Traded for a new Boxster.
Recently bought a 435i, i think it sounds better than the m4. I have it in luxury spec, so a gentlemans car but with a sport+ mode. Stage 1 remap 380bhp. Quite when in comfort. I average 29 mpg. £295 tax. My young kids have loads of room in the back. Get a full set of golf clubs and trolley in the boot. Will still buy a couple tickets though 😉
Amazing car. I drove my friend’s once when we went out and he smoked too much weed and couldn’t drive home (I was sober). And that got me thinking - that’s really the problem with this car, isn’t it - the type of person who drives an M4 is the type of person who gets too high and can’t drive home (but unlike my mate, probably still does anyway)…
You’ve done an awesome job with it and I am so sorely tempted, (( even telling myself the insurance costs might be ok )) right up to the road tax and tire costs. For the mileage I do, can’t justify it. Still well done!!!
Stunning version of that car. I went for the convertible 428i of the same age, wheel size etc, really good spec. I prefer the look of the coupe (the hard top convertible can get confused with a 2 series) but I don’t have to look at it when I’m driving. You need a big bank balance to run and maintain a BMW properly. Nothing is a cheap fix, other than fitting new wiper blades and they probably need coding to the car.

Matt, as the ride can be a little hard at town speeds, have you ever experimented with dropping tyre pressures by 2 to 3 lbs ? I ask because. of late, I've been doing this with my 1000cc motorcycle. When set cold, the pressures rise by two to three lbs per square inch after they've warmed up and my thought is that cover all tyre pressures make very little sense, unless for a fully laden vehicle. Obviously, too much of a drop would risk wheel damage. I'd regularly do the same with my car, were it not for the fact that one tyre is a bit leaky, likely from alloy wheel rim corrosion over time but I have tried it and the ride is a lot nicer.

Those tyres are only 10% more than I paid for my E93 335i, and that was back in 2021 I think. It's basically the same to run as my car in every way (unless anything breaks, and maybe the brakes come to think of it). I'd have to turn off that atrocious fake sound (I think it is entirely computer generated not pumped in from the engine) though. The big killer is the insurance for me. £1811 was my test quote, compared to £767 for an E63 M6. I think these get crashed and stolen more often than Taylor Swift gets a new boyfriend.
I bought an F82 M4 after having an E92 335i. The M4 was much cheaper to run because it didn't have as much shit breaking lol. That said, it was low mileage when the E92 was not, and the E92 was tuned...

I use a top specialist in bolton BMW ,Bolton motor works . M3 M5 E38 B12 330ci ,Cant fault this place .
HOLY SHIT!! WE CAN BUY HIGH PEAK AUTO'S AIR FRESHENERS!!! My favourite youtube channel time to buy some for my car 🤣
To anyone reading: you should absolutely buy an F82 M4. I absolutely love mine!
Next please review the W210 E-class, such an interesting car
I love the mirror car freshener 😂
Oh I hadn’t thought of buying an M4! Just what I need in my retirement
I get a lot more attention in my E38 than any M4 ,100% .Its always outside the midland hotel manchester .
