Hey Matt - I bought that white Disco 4 from you a few months back, and it's been great. Still going strong and has taken the family camping, done some off-roading, trips up and down the country. It's being looked after by a local indie LR specialist when it needs anything.

New things can break (that's why companies offer warranties), and used things can break. And as any car owner knows, 90% of things that fail do so without warning. To me, above a certain price point, it makes sense to support your local second hand car dealer. That gives them the revenue to support warranty claims. Imagine if that guy had bought the Jag from a private seller. That £6k would have been on him. Ouch. Matt, you're up there with Rob Ferretti in your ability to take losses or unexpected costs on the chin and still ( even ruefully ) smile.

The local Merc independent said it was a common fault, the replacement ones are supposed to be better. My dad's now looking to buy an estate one and I've told him if it's not had the waterpump changed it'll probably need one in the near future, a common failure. Can't fault it otherwise though, brilliant cars.

It’s done this way precisely because of the situation you described. Never trust the buyer to do the paperwork that ends your responsibility for a vehicle.

Vw eos , don’t know why they are so unpopular!
    Bought 2008 2.0 tdi with 164 k … from auction £350 plus fees ..
Drives lovely , tidy car , roof doesn’t work properly , worked once when I put code reader in and cleared the faults .
Roof went down and refused to go up … left it 10 mins and the roof went back up …
    Zero interest at £1250 …

Fun overview video, thank you. Great to see the cars again, the Range Rovers are indeed majestic, really enjoyed the Winter footage. No shame in wanting a nice car collection :)

Hi Matt - some bad luck on some of these cars!
The Jag / Aston / Mercs etc. These cars are complex anyway. Try to avoid high mileage Prestige cars - more luck on volume ones instead!

Super interesting Matt! We don’t normally get to hear about the cars that come back to bite you 🥴 So you think you’ve made a healthy profit and then the phone rings and all of a sudden the profit has disappeared! I thought it was buyer beware not seller 😳

Hi Matt, looking forward to the follow on video on the beautiful Giverny Green Range Rover you have as I bought the same car, with the same colour combo although it has a 2003 BMW engine and is a definitely a keeper for me

You win some you lose some!!! I do think you have said that several times over the years. But it is proved that overall you have made a profit>)))) And I personally think every extra penny that you make is due to your hard work and insight Total respect Steve.👌👌

Hello mate been watching your channel for a while I like your presentation style and your honesty for a car dealer I've dabbled in salvage cars for years I don't think I've bought a car in the last 25 years that's not on the hit list and I've been stung more than once from buying a stolen car too blown engines been doctored too run ok for the test drive blow up the next day. And the fact your a professional car dealer and making mistakes on deals make me feel better that iam not a mug just that in this game there's so many things you can get caught out on no matter how good you think you are...but I would definitely buy one of your cars anyday fella. If it was salvage and cheap..lol😅
