Dear music fam! I am happy to be back after battling against a summer cold for TWO weeks! ^^ Also, before you come to comment on my red face/pale neck, this is the kind of tan you get when you are not lying in the sun but hanging outside with a shirt on picking blueberries, strawberries, rasperries, chantarelles etc... 😊 No, I don't have a wrong foundation color.. It's the harvesting season and I'm just being real instead of covering the color difference with tons of make-up!😂 ANYWAY I hope you'll enjoy the reaction, hope to see you in the premiere! xx
More natural look is always better imo. Tho hopefully it is tan indeed and not a sunburn, cause it is looking very red. Glad to hear you're feeling better either way.
Sorry I missed your premier but I remember buying this 45 on July 28th of 1978 that date sticks with me because I got shot my first time that date 😢 can't really blame him for I would have killed him oh well so much for the memory have a great day
Nice! Berry 🍓🫐 season is awesome. I was fishing for trout and steelhead the other day and came across some Black Raspberries as well as Blackberries! Great Reaction! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
I used to be Phils milkman in the 80's me and my dad got stuck in his driveway once after heavy rain, he brought us out breakfast in the pouring rain on a sliver tray, used to give a big tip at Christmas, loves a hazelnut yoghurt.❤
One of my sister's best friends was doing temp work at a high end art gallery in the mid 80's. Despite being quite a fan of his music on the radio, she didn't watch TOTP, and when someone walked in to the gallery and introduced himself as "Phil", she asked "Phil *who*?". Not only was he super nice about it at the time, I understand that he even brought the incident up later in an interview as an example of a grounding experience about not taking fame too seriously.
I commented this once before. I repeat myself, for me, for you, but mostly for anyone else who reads this comment and didn't notice on their own. I so, so appreciate that you take the time to write your own subtitles. I love that you can use whatever language is most comfortable for you, in the moment, for what you want to express and I love that you take the time to rewrite what you are saying, in English, in the subtitles. It's obvious, just from the timing, that your native language and English don't structure sentences the same way and so, if left to a computer, the translations would be silly. I do really appreciate your analysis. I appreciate the joy that you bring to listening to good music. I'm grateful that you take the time to make sure a language barrier doesn't prevent me from enjoying your reactions.
Hello from Denmark! Thank you for putting subtitles on your videos. I think the Finnish language is so beautiful, and your reactions to music are really organic and cool to hear! Wishing you and yours all the best
Finnish! oh my word, knowing what 'mrs was speaking was going to drive me crazy, ty.. (ps: love hearing reacts in other languages.. jus awesome to know what languages they are.. ;) )
This performance is one of, if not THE, best performances I have ever seen. Phil Collins is a master of instrumentation and the use of drums as melody. The staging, engineering, and lighting is all masterfully done. Full of subtly and bombast, Collins is a true musicians musician. Your analysis is one of the best I have seen, illustrating so much of the quality he brings to the stage.
I don't speak any Finnish, but I love trying to make sense of the Finnish sections simply by paying VERY close attention. My success rate so far: perhaps a bit over 0%. I'm pretty sure I understood the hello and goodbye bits. I'm going to say something a little poetic, a little philosophical: Your analysis echoes Phil's performance in its precision and focus. What I love about this performance is how honesty is served through extraordinary skill and dedication to the very complex emotions that are communicated. The skill becomes translucent as the emotional honesty and precision cut through like a knife. I've watched this performance many times and it almost always gives me the chills. What I love about your analysis is how profoundly it respects and reflects that precision in a way that is thus not remotely fawning. This makes for a genuine and skilled response that does Phil's performance proud. Thank you for it.
I come here back from time to time cause your reactions and interpretations make that live performance by Phil even deeper and more transparent for me. He has so much soul, timing, variation and emotion in that performance. I'm stunned every time again!
Great reaction to a great song. I would be partial to it anyway because of the percussion. And yes, the keyboardist was using a Vocoder to parallel Phils voice. Cheers Anna.
I was there with 3,000 others to see Phil and Genesis play their first ever Top Of The Bill performance in August 1972 at The "Croydon Greyhound" in South East London when the original BillToppers "Bell 'n Arc" disbanded on the day.
I always find your reviews fascinating and I always learn something. By the way you have the most pleasant speaking and singing voice. Thanks for the review. Stay well and be safe. Your face looks fine.
this song still give's me chills after the many 100's of times i have heard it this itteration is by far the best and it shows you just why Phill collins is as loved as he is. to be able to sing without messing up the notes of pitch while smashing the drums.. he is not just hitting them he is SMASHING them....
It's so beautiful that how the crowd stepped up and cheered when Phil Collins got near the drums. They knew this is when it's going to kick off... great reaction and great channel. Cheer's Anna.x
I might have to set a reminder for this one. I love this version. Phil conveys such an emotional connection to the story. its beautiful and a punch in the gut. I might shed some tears while listening/watching. sidenote: How can you possibly sing so steady and hit all those drums and rhytms at the same time? Mindblown
When you’re speaking Finnish I don’t understand very many words, but the sound of your voice speaking your native tongue is so beautiful and aurally pleasing.❤

Thanks for the reaction to this! love this live performance. If you are listening to Phil Collins, you should react to "Against All Odds", it has always been one of my favorite ones from Phil
Great live performance! Phil Collins is best known as the drummer/singer of the rock band Genesis in the 70's & for his solo career. He has had so many great hits such as "Another Day In Paradise", "I Don't Care Anymore", "Against All Odds", "One More Night", "Sussudio", "Take Me Home", "Two Hearts", "A Groovy Kind Of Love", "I Wish It Would Rain Down", "You Can't Hurry Love" etc.
Phil was a child actor before he joined a band, which no doubt accounts for his hypnotic stage presence in this song! He did the odd bit of film and TV acting as an adult, too.

Amazing performance. The white-bearded bassist is the legendary Leland Sklar. And one of the greatest drum-fills of all time. Even El Estepario Siberiano says it can't be bettered. 🙂
IIRC, this was a 2004 performance in Paris. The song itself dates back to 1981. One of my all time favorite songs in the late 80's and early 90's, and I still have to sing along when I hear it. There's something in his vocal range that I find easy to sing along with, on all of his songs. I have heard that his health isn't that good these days.
The drum beat every time I lose my mind absolutely 💯 the best ever ain’t nobody gonna convince me he ain’t the goat at drums and vocals at same time ❤❤
I feel like this is one of those utterly consummate live performances. When a group and artist absolutely gave it all to come up with something that was tremendously incredible. That crowd got beyond their money’s worth. And Phil just took the whole thing over the top and all the way home, when he began bashing out those brilliant beats.
A Legend and Master at work! Phil is a world class drummer with an outstanding voice. A true musical ICON. I am the only 1 who gets massive chills at the drum drop? Phil and this song are IMMORTAL one of the greatest performance ever given.
Just discovered your channel, and suddenly I have the urge to learn Finnish! Beautiful language! 🙂Very nice reaction, at least the parts that I could understand!
First time watching your channel. This song is about going through his difficult divorce. I don’t think you noticed that when Phil was walking towards the drums..initially they weren’t there. They came up from the lower stage! His timing impeccable! Plus I never realized he had his drum sticks with him all along! Phil is a true legend! He has sold over 100 million albums as a solo artist as well as selling over 100 million albums when he was the drummer for Genesis!
Great reaction Anna. Phil Collins, such a legend and it's a shame he had to retire due to ill health. This live version of "In The Air Tonight" gives me goose bumps every time. Talking of goosebumps Anna, please react to "Lewis Capaldi - Wish You The Best (Official Video)" Lewis Capaldi is a Scottish singer and famous world wide. He has such beautiful and powerful vocals and you will love him. His song 'Wish You The Best' and the official video is brilliant, but sad that will pull on your heartstrings and make you cry. So make sure you have a box of tissues to hand. Keep up the great work Anna and look forward to your next video.
I only remember this song listening to it with my uncle(dad's little brother) and it was what late 80's early 90's? and it was very incredible for it's time. Looking pretty by the way, always looking pretty.

Messy break ups result in masterpieces such as this. That's one of the reasons his delivery is so powerful. Of course his acting background has a role in it as well.
Absolutely the greatest drum drop on any track. And lets take a second to note how Leland Sklar's bass lines just build a solid pulsing foundation and yet give space for the drums. The whole production was magnificent.
I wonder if he met with the band before this show and said “hey let’s make in the air tonight the single greatest live performance of any song of all time ….. and break Let’s go get em”
I am mesmerized by your knowledge and beauty. Honestly, in my entire life, and I am 45, I have not seen a beautiful female person. For you and this song i will say just WOW!
Phil is an icon! He wrote this song about his divorce. It is very difficult to sing and play drums at the same time as I am sure you know. He does it with ease! Love your reaction and analysis!
I can never hear this beautiful, iconic song from my young adulthood without seeing Crockett and Tubbs speeding thru the Miami night toward what they fully realize may be their violent deaths. Michael Mann and Phil Collins….pure art.
This is SUCH an iconic song! You have the best vocal breakdowns, Anna, and you’re so wonderful to listen to. Definitely would love to hear you break down Ren’s Back on 74/Message in a Bottle remix, and/or his Fred Again Mashup, as he really plays with his vocal range and expression in both of these songs. 💕✨
Honestly his vocal struggles came later than this performance. The last couple years have been rough but he has serious health issues and that has caused the vocal problems. Glad I got to see him around this time as it was an all time great show!
More Phil, please. Maybe try one of his ballads or Genesis tunes like 'Dance on a Volcano' or 'Blood on the Rooftops'. Peter Gabriel would be another associate worth your time. His vocals in early Genesis are interesting and his solo work is spectacular such as his duet with Kate Bush (another English marvel) doing 'Don't Give Up'.
And hit drum "Phill Collins" reminds us that he is a drummer that sometimes sings. He wasn't the first choice for Genesis after Peter Gabriel left, but he became their only choice. I've only ever seen my mom cry a few times in my life, and Genesis' last concert was one of them.
Anna, Wow, thank you. I have watched many of your reaction and analysis videos. This one was unique. I almost feel silly saying that listening to the music and watching your reaction, made me think.....Orgasm ! Ya never know what music will make you feel.
So nice to see you again Anna, the last time was when you reacted to Lea Salonga from Les Misérables , I'm so glad you're reacting to " In The Air Tonight " it's a great song. All the best from N.Z.
I really like you Anna and your intelligent comments though Phil deserved you to witness the adoration awarded him and for us to observe the standing ovation he received which you cut short.
You're young, so try to throw your imagination back to the 80s... no internet, no autotune, no cell phones. Just cruising with friends in a mustang convertible on warm summer nights and Phil riding shotgun. There was no other song like it at the time or, frankly, since.
This is magical and strong live performance. I feel like floating in the air tonight 😂. I recommend strongly, if you react finnish videos at all, take Diandra Flores and her emotional tribute V-M Loiri's ELEGIA from ElämäniBiisi
HI Anna, thank you for your reaction video. I love it hearing you talking in your mother tongue. Phil is not just master class. This performance is grand master class. I would also love it if you can react to Dire Strats - Sultants of Swing in the Alchemy version. Completly different sound but also live and on the same grand master level. Take care and have a good time.
Anna, at 73 (in Long Beach, California) I don’t know how to beyond posting a comment as a reply. I do know that the Eagles’ image would have to be blocked out to make sure that they don’t get the reaction taken down. But, the music is worth it. Have a berry nice day! Patrick Brady
Now you should react to the building up to the showdown scene in the 1984 pilot 2-part episode "Brother's Keeper" of Miami Vice that was where the Majority of the U.S was first introduced to "In The Air Tonight" and the rest is history...because from that moment on whenever this song is heard by the people who had got to watch that 2-part episode back in 1984 that Scene instantly pops back into their mind to this day.
I believe this song was first sang by phil collins during the bday of the then prince charles in the late 80s or early 90s😅😅😅 goodluck to your reaction anna!!!!!😅
I've seen some other vocal specialists talk about "attack" but never any context...Thank you for describing (and singing it) it such that even someone like me, who may as well be tone deaf, can understand it...
Thank you for this Anna!!! What a great choice and a pleasure to watch with you! This reminds me that I've not seen you analyze The Warning yet (3 sisters from Mexico who are barely in their 20's yet still have 5 albums and a world tour under their belts). I think most have started with either "Evolve" or "Choke", songs sang by Dani, lead vocals and guitar. But maybe you can start your The Warning journey with "23", sang by Pau, the drummer, Drumeo's rock drummer of the year 2023.
Phil
Don Henley sings pretty good while drumming Hotel California (best live, at Capital Centre ‘77) - worth a try?
Iconic performance by Phil, great reaction by Anna 👌👏
Timeless.
Love new video reactions from my crush, Anna. 😉
Pau (drummer from the Warning) shares lead vocals on a majority of their songs. Uber impressive to do both!
You're young, so try to throw your imagination back to the 80s... no internet, no autotune, no cell phones. Just cruising with friends in a mustang convertible on warm summer nights and Phil riding shotgun. There was no other song like it at the time or, frankly, since.
No autotune yet in this song Phil's voice is tuned as hell :P
Dam she's drop dead gorgeous
First heard the song on the popular TV show Miami Vice and MTV. Became one of my favorite songs of the 80's.
This is magical and strong live performance. I feel like floating in the air tonight 😂. I recommend strongly, if you react finnish videos at all, take Diandra Flores and her emotional tribute V-M Loiri's ELEGIA from ElämäniBiisi
Great job on the reaction
HI Anna, thank you for your reaction video. I love it hearing you talking in your mother tongue. Phil is not just master class. This performance is grand master class. I would also love it if you can react to Dire Strats - Sultants of Swing in the Alchemy version. Completly different sound but also live and on the same grand master level. Take care and have a good time.
Nice reaction, This is 1980's way before anything digital was available to musicians.
Saw Mr Collins 4 times live in conert in Montréal 🎉
Anna, at 73 (in Long Beach, California) I don’t know how to beyond posting a comment as a reply. I do know that the Eagles’ image would have to be blocked out to make sure that they don’t get the reaction taken down. But, the music is worth it. Have a berry nice day! Patrick Brady
At that moment in time Phil Collins was the coolest man on the planet.
Love Finish language!
Anna, You my dear, sweet woman, are captivating !!! Thank you !!!
I've heard this song forever, but now I have a face to put with the voice. He's definitely a pioneer in the music world. 👋😏 Have a nice weekend.
I feel like I understand the universal reaction without having to turn on subtitles.
I believe this song was first sang by phil collins during the bday of the then prince charles in the late 80s or early 90s😅😅😅 goodluck to your reaction anna!!!!!😅
Phil Collins released this song in 1981……
Phil Collins is just another creature all together.
I think you picked the perfect thumbnail 😊
I've seen some other vocal specialists talk about "attack" but never any context...Thank you for describing (and singing it) it such that even someone like me, who may as well be tone deaf, can understand it...
Anna, it is time for Dol Ammad-Hyperspeed. Operatic sci-fi metal with 12 singers. Enjoy
Ur subtitles are amazing 😂
Really? 🥹 Thank you!❤️
If I ever need a vocal coach, I'm coming to Finland.
"Strikes like a knife" matched the intensity of the lyrics of the song (about ex-wife situation). Unforgiving, unapologetic, even raw.
The Warning - 23 Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/29/2022
