Regine's belts and flair is really the main ingredient of her instrument. She has really perfected the art of belting with so much ease and vocal stamina. In more than 30 years of career, it's so difficult to find a performance where she lipped. This lady could belt for 2 straight hours 100% live, and still be able to sustain long high belts with so much ease and clarity.

Regine is a goddess, and many of these clips showcase her singular ability to inject her own "flair" into songs which have already been made iconic by other great singers. With that said, I do think that while her God-given ability to belt is tremendous, it doesn't always work in service of the song. For example, in her cover of Almost Over You, she replaces Sheena Easton's head voice climax with a belt, but it does nothing for the lyric (the sadness of the song is lost in Regine's version, but then again it can be argued that she's focusing more on entertaining the audience in that performance as opposed to telling a story). This is not to say that her belting ability cannot be used to further express a song's meaning; indeed, Regine is always at her best when she is able to combine her virtuosity with her storytelling abilities (see her performances of Dadalhin, Sana Maulit Muli, and Sometime, Somewhere). P.S. That Whitney clip you chose clearly demonstrates how Whitney's voice was already suffering from some damage in 1994 (i.e., she couldn't access her falsetto and her head voice with as much ease as she once did back in the 80s), but at the same time, I still prefer it to Regine's more effortless version (especially when you compare the performances from start to finish). There's a velvet to Whitney's voice (even in 1994) that was never a feature of Regine's. Does that make Whitney better than Regine? Not necessarily. I just prefer one voice over the other in terms of the overall sound.
Considering also that Regine's vocal range is more wider than Whitney, but yes that doesn't make any less of Whitney because she's already the voice, but i still prefer Whitney over Regine:) and they're re both great artist. And i love how Regine in the climax part of IWALY singing original key (B4) followed by that head voice F#5 and a chestmixed one which is also an F#5. As far as i know whitney singing IWALY in Bb4 (one semi-tone lower than the original key) but because of Whitney's vocal power and dynamics makes it sounds like original key during her live performances

Also, while I did say that I prefer Whitney's version to Regine's, I must qualify that Regine's flair (the "you" sang in chest/mix) in the song is the opposite of what she did in Almost Over You. In Almost Over You, Regine was out to impress; in I Will Always Love You, she was out to "express" (it just so happens that her version of expressing emotion is particularly impressive). No one else but Regine would have thought of replacing the head voice there with a belt, but then again, no one else but Regine (especially at that time) could have pulled it off. :)

She was offered to be sponsored to break the US music scene by a chinese record compny but she had to claim to be Chinese thus she refused. I only caught this info 2 years ago and I’m not sure of the validity.
She declined a lot of offers to be in the Hollywood scene. Which is a good decision. Especially that during her time she conquered Asia without the hype of socmed platforms like RUclips, Spotify and many more. So we are so blessed that she decided to stay here in the Philippines otherwise we have no idea if what's gonna happen if she chooses US/World Stage.
This doesn't mean though that she's better than Whitney or Mariah or Brightman. Magkaiba lang sila ng voice types. Whitney, Mariah, and Celine are mezzo-sopranos, while Regine is a soprano. Between her and Sarah Brightman naman, magkaiba sila ng key. Regine's version was 2keys up but she sang it an octave lower with F#5 as her final note.
