Here is another Scotty Cameron restore. This time a Studio Stainless Newport 2. Turned out great!
From here on out, on all my restore videos I will be skipping the shaft pull and glue ups. I want to try and focus more of the video on the actual grinding and polishing section, because thats where I feel I get the most questions, and its the most important! And to do that while still keeping the videos at an acceptable length.
Enjoy the video! And thanks again for the 500 subs! Make sure to check out my giveaway video here to win a putter!

I love seeing the finsh after the sandblasting, the milling looks incredible too.
Thank you!
This might be the only way I’ll grab a Scotty Cameron putter. Borrowing my dad’s clubs now but will put a set together eventually. I know you make this look really easy but I just might be able to do something decent with a beat up putter. Thank you for the the videos. They did a great job on the face too.
That thing is SICK!!! Wow!
Thank you!
Very nice work! turned out so clean looking
This Putter is for sale to any of my subscribers who's interested! Figured I'd try here first before posting online. 🙂
I wish I could afford it. I love that putter, but I just bought a tei3 on Monday
@@JoshMG Nice!
I do this myself with the same set up. After I bead blast the head for the final finish I go over the sole again on the wheel and face a few times. Leaves a satin finish on the top where it was blasted and shiny on the bottom. Then I get a very light satin wheel and go over it again once.
It leaves a lovely finish
I've done the same. Not what I was looking for on this particular putter. Check out my Custom Tour Video. I do something similar to that.
Incredible work brother.
Thanks!
Well done, sir!…..per usual 😂
Amazing work looks great!!
That Scotty turned out fantastic! I have one that I need to get restored.
Shoot me an email. igolf906@gmail.com
Looks great!!!! I really like the milling, I may look around here if I can have the 2 of mine done.
Any carbon steel you get the faces remilled on will be raw steel then. Will have to get them replated/coated or make sure you oil it up. Otherwise it can rust fast!
@@igolf906 I didn't think about that until after I posted. It does look pretty good.
@@texasspangler Try out O'Hare. He's awesome to work with.
And those circle stands things those seem handy!
Theyre called Bench Cookies and they're awesome!
Yeah they are!!!
What grit do you get that finish with and i assume its glass beads? Doing my own newport 2.5 and its ready to blast. Just want best chance of "factory finish". Ive read 80(ish) grit at 90psi. Am i close?
240 grit glass bead at 50 to 60 psi is what I currently use. I have a video on this topic explaining all the grits and finishes.
@igolf906 what’s the video title you’re referring to that explains all the grits? Thanks.
i kinda liked it polished raw, any idea how to secure such finish?
No because that is after the deburring wheel. The finish looks nice maybe at a distance but will be a very un-uniform finish. Will not look good over the ball.
Thanks for posting all the videos, amazing work and fun to watch and learn your process! What is the specific green you use in this paint fill?
I believe it's Tamiya X5.
@@igolf906 I have so many additional questions, but appreciate you taking the time to respond to this one!
You can sandblast after the milling?
Yes. It doesn't affect the milling at all. Especially the glass bead at low psi.
Great job awesome end product, enjoy watching the process. Do you sell on EBay or another site?
I dont sell on eBay no. But I usually always try to offer up any putters for sale to my subscribers first before I post it on Facebook groups. So like this one is for sale. If interested shoot me an email
Hey man awesome work, what sand grit did you use to get that finish?
I use a 240 grit glass bead media in my sand blaster
Great work on the wheel! I need one and them skills!!! 🙌🏽
What do you call that finish after you’ve bead blasted it? Dull metal look: brushed or nickel?
Thanks! It's just a satin bead blast finish. I like to call it factory finish as it's very close to the standard finish of today's stainless steel Scotties.
@@igolf906 I really dig that style of finish!!! Will it protect from rusting?
@@jonaspareja it's just a raw finish on steel. So no. But I only do these finishes on stainless steel, which does not rust very easily, if at all. So it's ok.
How much do it cost to refurb and re Mill the the scotty?
Depends on the model putter. Shoot me an email.
What was the wheel you had spinning called?
If you check any of my newer videos I have a list of all the tools and materials I use in there. Including the wheels I currently use.
Did you have to treat it at all after sandblasting? Maybe a different metal but I’m trying to learn noticed people coating with nickel after sanding etc! I have a set of Nike vr tw blades I want to restore to new but they are 1025 carbon steel and I am worried they will rust after if I don’t… but I don’t want the nickel look
Carbon steel needs some sort of coating otherwise it will rust after sandblasting. These Scotties I'm doing are stainless steel. You'll notice any of them that are carbon are either plated, torched or quenched.
@@igolf906 ahhh ok! Thank you so much for the info! Trying to figure it all out before I ruin some clubs here lol
Have you even tried to blacken any irons? Carbon steel in particular lol
@@igolf906 great channel btw! You’re work is top notch
@@richardjohnson1944 No I haven't. I do have a set of older Titleist blades that are carbon steel. I was going to nickel plate them. But haven't decided yet.
@@richardjohnson1944 Thank you!
Did O’hare Milling charge you less since you only requested to get the face done?
Btw great work sir! Love the new look on the black paint fills!
Yes they have different services and I just paid for face milling.
How much weight does it lose?
2 to 3 grams on average
And what type of blast material do you use
Glass bead labeled as 180/200 grit. I'd like to find one that's even finer eventually.
what kind of paint are you using ? Model paint ?
Yes it's Testors Enamel. It's a great paint for paintfill as it comes in virtually any color you want. I also use Tamiya paint for translucent colors.
@@igolf906 thank you .. I wanted to fill the Titleist part on my NP 2 neck
@@bknoxx Most of the time I use Testors. But the red blue and green you see in this video is the Tamiya.
