Hi Steve. Terry here from New Zealand. working my way through your videos along with Rich and learning heaps. You are talking about Individual Fill in this video. can you please explain how to do this. Learni9ng heaps for your videos
In the video at the 9:30 timestamp I show the Individual Fill. I think it has a different outcome because it focuses the the laser on one area of the glass until it completes it. Instead of "building" the image slowly from top to bottom. I think this possibly keeps more heat in the glass in that given area creating a different outcome. Thanks for watching. Some of these older videos are full of inaccuracies as I was super green trying to figure things out.
It would be interesting if you could have black k lettering on the front and spray the back a metallic gold on the back. Not sure how you might be able to achieve that effect though.
I just thought of this after reading your comment. Yes. Yes, you can make something like this happen. And it would be cool. I'm gonna have to add it to my list for future projects. It is actually quite simple after pondering it for a while. Sometimes the simplest answers are the hardest to come by. I'm actually designing an art installation for our local minor league team. Wasn't planning on engraving from the front for this one but might have too now. Use this same technique, but on a gold mirror. The gold reflective ability of the untouched areas around the engraving should give it a gold frost. Then paint the back black after your engraving. If you try it, be sure to share some pics. I love a challenge. Thanks for watching and stayed tuned.
I m thinking the 3 D effect with the masking tape on the front is due to the laser beam bouncing between the back layer and the making tape that has was not burned. Just a thought! As for the blow out on the “I” is due to more energy being concentrated in a small area. Why it did it only do it on the “i” I do not have any other idea unless other than the coating on the back of the mirror was not uniform 😁🛫
The "damage" is what I'm trying to achieve when engraving from the front. I get super clean lines and a simple engrave from the rear with less power. The idea here is to get the engraving to take place through the entire glass. It is an awesome look. You should try it out. I have other videos showing different techniques for engraving mirrors. Here's on link. You should subscribe and check out the others. Thanks for watching. ruclips.net/video/NuC8USxkDoc/видео.html
I am very grateful for what I learn with your videos
Not nearly as grateful as I am that you're watching. Thank you.
@@HoboWithWoodI am certain really understand why you say that!
I would have to say that was a pretty good transition with the broken glass you did there.
Great video you have great ideas

@@HoboWithWood Awesome. Thanks Steve. I'm a newbie like you so anything helps
Will the diode laser get damgaged if engrave on the front without masking tape?
I wouldn't do it.

what did you mean individual field? or was it feel?
Individual fill.

Try using 80 percent power so not to damage mirror

@CharlieBoxman
Your reference is to the blow out?
