I’ve been looking for the perfect pen holder. I do wonder if the metal would scratch the acrylic or metal finish of the pen body.

Hmm, good question! I haven't used it long enough to know for sure, of course, but I think it would be fine. Most of the surface that contacts the pen is pretty smooth/rounded, so as long as you're not sliding the pen back and forth and there's no extra downward pressure being applied to the pen, I think it will be safe. I don't have any fears putting any of my pens on it, but I also know I don't "baby my pens" as much as some.
