The best fountain pen paper Walmart sells is probably the 100gsm Exceed notebooks/journals/bullet journals, but Pen & Gear has some excellent fountain pen paper, as well, and some excellent sketchbooks. I own just about every top brand of fountain pen paper made, and Pen & Gear is comparable to nearly all of it. Some Pen & Gear paper is better that most of the top brands. Some Pen & Gear paper doesn't shade, and some shades very well. For me, not showing shading is a HUGE plus, but some of the Pen & Gear paper is so good I use it even when heavy shading shows up.
Pen & Gear paper does come in different kinds of paper, depending on the notebook, and maybe where it's made. I picked up four spiral bound tabbed Pen & Gear notebooks that have extremely smooth coated paper that feels and looks better than Rhodia. But I also tried a couple of cheaper, thinner spiral bound ones that had pretty course paper, though even it didn't bleed.
I also draw with graphite and colored pencils, and Pen & Gear has 9x12 top spiral bound sketchbooks with a hundred and fifty sheets, and I like them more than my Strathmore sketchbooks that cost about three times as much.
It's tough to find good, cheap fountain pen friendly paper, but it's getting easier, thanks to Walmart, I guess.

Agreed! I love the Exceed as well (I actually do all the planning for these videos in a 100gsm Exceed notebook)

Cvs Caliber notebook and filler paper is also excellent :)

It's good, but not as good as the Pen & Gear paper.

That's definitely pretty good! I could still see some shading with the KWZ & PBBS inks. I write a lot of work notes [daily] with mostly "M" & "B" nib sizes. These would be great for that. It gets pricey using Rhodia, CF, TR, Endless, Apica & Maruman for work notes! 🙄 I'll head to Walmart today to see if I can find a few. Great review - thanks!

Great review. And you're correct about the Vietnam paper. They love fountain pens. By the way, I see some shading on those lighter inks. Not bad.

Is that the same size as the typical composition notebook?

      No, this one is A5 (5.83in x 8.27in). I think a typical composition notebook is about 7.5in x 9.75in.
