I've been looking at some videos to get some ideas on modifying my 370 and I have to say, out of all the videos I have seen, yours is by far the most easy to understand and most detailed. Keep up the good work bro, I'll give you a sub.
you forgot to add a piece of hose pipe around the A/C coolant lines. I found out the hard way when after about a year the vibration of the pipe on the driver side wore a hole in my ac line.
Just installed mine yesterday, Pretty easy even the trimming part was easy. I have 0 automotive skills and this was my first mod I’ve ever installed myself, no check engine lights & do get the sound difference. Everyone should be able to handle it
One of the best car RUclipsr out there that drives a fast car, and actually installs his own car parts. Not like some other car RUclipsr that I know or we know of, drops off at a mechanic and barely does any grease work, and claims themselves as car enthusiast. Not gonna name them but one drives a Mustang, and the other drives a Dodge Demon LOL
Go with the top gunz stillen a2a supercharger.. Max out the Z. Don't do wide body or a big ass wing.. Thanks for the detailed videos for us 370z guys tho
You could do this with 20 dollar 2.5 inch 90 degree exhaust elbows / reusing the plastic maf outlet. And have the identical results with a proper tune.
I just subscribe cause I like the way you explain things and you take you time when you do things ....so that’s says a lot about your character my friend
If your car were deep enogh in water to affect the intake tubes (they're at the top of the engine bay) hydrolocking is the least of your worries. At that point, you're going to be looking for a periscope and a wet suit!!
I remember I went through this mini River, and my Honda Accord to suck up all the water due to my cold air intake, my engine was drowned. Thankfully we had an air compressor employer all the water out of the engine and she came back to life. Thank God Honda engines are reliable LOL
You are the goat man your videos are awesome! I'm about to do a cold air intake on my 370z and this is just what I needed, so thank you! Also another question, how much did you tint your windows?
Check your fitment on the intakes over time , I've owned 2 cars with them and they always like to get eaten up by the frame . Also consider some oil catch cans and oil cooler , tuned vhr motors get thirsty 😉
Please make a follow up (update) video on how it worked. I’m curious to see if the restriction you added in front of the radiator will affect anything on your cooling system, since the intakes are vacuuming the air around there
The intake filters do not interfer with the radiator. The filters sit almost level with the upper portion of the radiator and don't really block engine cooling. I've had my Stillen setup for years and it works beautiful.
John S. Negron no absolutely not. Leaving the intake inside the engine bay is a hot air intake. He radiator itself isn’t got. Only the tanks. The filters are getting fresh air from the front bumper
@@PR1NCETD0T Not necessarily, some companies actually make intake sometimes better then aftermarket. For instance my bmw e46 takes in air right from the front grill, but it's up to you. Yeah you get cool intake noises. But a k&n box filter does just as good.
I feel your pain, I offered him 700 just to tune my car and never got a response back. He knows his stuff but it’s like he said, he’s the cockiest prick.
A dude with a q50 with drop in filters, post maf tubes and custom exhaust made 333whp with ecutek, I don’t see the point on spending all that money on intakes, the factory air box is fine the way they are
You never see those filters. The way the pipes come off the throttle bodies is a bit different for each side, i.e. they're not sysmetrical, that's why the intake tubes aren't at the same angle.
Hey man, i really need the link for that trim but 2.5 inch. I cant find it anywhere and am installing my z1 intakes right now and didnt realize that I need it!!
Maybe look into the Z1 intakes. The part that passes into the bumper is made of silicone so it can flex a little bit to fit and you don't have to hack into your car. Essentially the exact same power gains as well from what I've heard.
Lmao it was very simple nd straight forward install for me. Didn't even have to take all that off just had to drill some space nd I got it all right in. But can't wait for the tune see what it makes.
I can relate with him and the way he works. The reason he removes all the components is to maximize the amount of room to work, which also allows you to see components better and therefore you're less likely to forget that one connector or that stupid hose on the bottom of that thing... it's a meticulous mechanics way of ensuring first time quality work.
Well, I don't know how much more power you will make, probably a few hp, but I do know you just reduced the cooling efficiency of the radiator by a significant amount. Nice job.
Thanks for the interesting and informative video. I have a 2019 370Z 6MT sport coupe on which I've added Hotchkis sways and Stop Tech stainless steel braided Teflon core brake lines. I'm in the process of getting a Fast Intentions X-pipe CBE along with the Stillen extra-long tube Gen 3 CAI and a tune on a Dyno Jet. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that we can get to 370 crank hp.
Are intakes worth the money? I already got a new exhaust and y pipe. Thinking about just getting some test pipes and getting a tune and calling it a day.
Those intakes, even for v8s are usually a complete waste of money. THey increase intake noise so people get the placebo effect. Louder so gotta be faster right! Most new cars have factory cold air intakes they just dont look as cool.
I think you will loose power with that cause you'll gonne miss the ram air effect of the stock intake and the point where you get the air is not colder at this location, if you mesure how much further to the front your take in the air, it is what 1 inch? I think if you mount back the factory intake with your tune you'll have better results... just a guess.
There is a BIT that comes through the intake system, however I haven't seen how it damages anything. There is an oil catch can you can buy to prevent it, however it is quite negligible on a naturally aspirated engine.
I'll bet in the entire lifetime of this car, I won't have to clean / change them, but if I did, I'd have to take the front bumper off. Given the location of it, dirt won't really go up in that area.
I didn't have any issues with a CEL, however it does cause your engine to run a bit more lean, so if you can, get a tune with your car at the same time.

Be careful in the rain , might hydrolock engine if you get to much water sucked in!
The K&N filters are oil coated so i doubt that will be an issue

Hi there! Won't the air filters bounce while you drive the car? Or did you grab them with something to keep them fixed?
Once the clamps are tightened down, they don't move one bit. Believe me, there is no room for them to bounce!
Do you have to be careful when washing your car with a pressure washer? I would think if you sprayed your grill too much you would soak the filters?
You should be careful with a pressure washer even if you have a stock airbox🤣🤣🤣
just wondering why you did not go with the admin tunning intakes?
