- A client asked me to make a music video for him, so I decided to also vlog it and talk about what I use and why. I spend the first 8 minutes talking about my gear, and then the rest of the video is filmed on the shoot! Enjoy!

Hey guys, firstly, thanks for watching this video and subscribing! Pretty surprised with how well it's done! For those of you who are interested in the gear I used (camera, shoulder rig, lenses etc), I've put some links in the description which'll take u straight to the products :). Also, head over to the other "how I shoot rap videos" for some more insight :) Heres the link
Bro, you should do a full video of how do you edit the music videos, with the scribble and all that. Great vids and Chanel btw
I'm shooting another music video next week so I'll be sure to make it a 2 part video (Shooting and editing) :) so make sure you've subbed so you know when its out :D
sounds good to me
i really want to see editing
Can you please do a full video on how you did it.
Cause I'm a bit confused
2019 just watching my gee, i love the way you transition your moves
ah thanks man! much love!
Stumbled on your channel by watching this vid and have since checked out a load of your other vlogs - subbed.
thanks a lot dude!
Aye bruh love your effort, here's a tip for you if you still use the Sony a7s and your running low on battery. You can plug in a portable charger into the camera while shooting. I know it works on the a7s ii and the battery life increases tenfold so give it a shot!
you should put your products as amazon links on your description! Awesome video BTW!!!
New Sub! I really enjoy your content man! Started shooting my first music video yesterday and trying to learn all that I can!

Nice video man. Done a few music videos for Glasgow bands myself. Just got a7sii last month, loving the Sony stuff.
Nice to meet a fellow filmmaker in Glasgow! oooo! I've been having problems with my Sony lately sadly. Still love it tho haha
Great video and that is the way I direct too.
awww thanks man :) It's a good way to direct eh? stand off-ish, let them do what they are comfortable doing
OmarOmarOmar Exactly, like you said, you know what shots you want, and if I direct to much, I feel like the artist won't be relaxed during the shoot.
Love your work bro!!!
aw thanks a lot homie!
Lol I forgot to hit the record button before as well..
What I mean is , do you re-do all the song on different places ??
Can u make a video on how to edit and make all da performance shots be in order?
Dope tutorial man!!
Believe it or not man, when I was editing this video, I stumbled across your BTS tutorial video ;)
Nice work!
"Not Mark two..cuz that thing was WAY too expensive.."hahaha just the way you said it
god damn mark 2 hahaha!
How do you get smooth slo mo in your videos? Do you twixtor or convert the frame rate?
You've got two options. The easiest one is to film everything in 60fps or 100fps or 120 fps (Which ever your camera can do) and import it into a 24fps project file OR, film the normal scenes in 24fps and the slow motion scenes in a higher frame rate. I just film everything at 120fps and then import them into a project file. So much easier, takes up way more storage though :)
Hey Omar! Nice video.. how did you make the illustrations for the video?
15:30 Dat transition, very nice
I'm not sure whether to give u props for noticing the transition, or watching the video all the way to the end hahah. Thank u very much man!
do u pasue the music when u go to do your next performance shot? and play it where u left off on the next performance shot can u make a video about that nobody really expalins that well ?
Each time you film, play the song from the beginning all the way until the end for that shot. Once you move onto the next shot, repeat the process. Play the song at the beginning all the way until the end. Do that for every single shot.
Wassup man do you know if the sony a6300 is good for music videos? Thanks
How do you line up the video with the song if you film the same verse in two different locations?
You could invest in a portable battery bank with a usb charger for your battery’s
So with the first performance shot do u play da whole song until da end??
every performance I shoot till the end! Just means I have more to play with when it comes time to edit! Watch my new video, I go into a bit more detail! ruclips.net/video/anCAWtzwjWc/видео.html
yo homie could you post the link to the shoulder rig?
hey man, what do you think the best camera to get is, for shooting music videos?
hey dude, either canon 5D mark 3, sony alpha series or the GH4 :)
Chrissy & Jonny the more money u spend on the camera the better remember you pay for what u get
at a certain price point the quality, while still going up, does not have as much of a difference. for example, a $500 lumix g7 is 100x better than a $150 canon point and shoot, but a $30000 Red 5k might only be 15x better than the g7.
what effect you use ? i saw some chalk effect on the video
nice vid I'd learn more from you..thanks!..
11:57 what was a fake laugh
Old habits die hard :p
I need someone to shoot my music video are you free to do ?? Thanks
Im trying to get into filmaking full time. Purchased the panasonic G7 with the kit lens and that was pretty much my entire budget. I find it hard to find clients and hard to take myself seriously with a kit lens as its not very professional. It could be where I live but not many people around me want to pay for music videos or whatever. Also finding jobs for corporate businesses to do ads and such is very hard aswell. Do you have any advice for finding work?
hey dude, ok so, when I first started out, I did free work for a good year and a half. It was a way for me to get a good portfolio. Once I hit the 1 year mark, I started charging people. Go to your local businesses and ask them if you could do a free video for them, same goes for the musicians. Nobody wants to pay a rookie, but once you have the work to back you up, people will be more inclined to part ways with their money you know?
I do get what you are saying. Building up a portfolio by doing some free work will allow people to take me more seriously and trust me when I start charging later on. Ive done two free films so far and doing a third next month. I'll do free work and build up my portfolio until I feel I have enough experience and background tostart charging people and for those people to take me seriously as a business. Thank you for your advice!
One bit of advice, focus more on music videos, corporate videos and photography rather than short films. It's a lot easier getting paid for corporate stuff than it is to get paid film stuff! Good luck, and let me know how u get on bro :)
You are definitely right about that. Making short films is definitely not very profitable especially when you are small and starting out. Thanks for the advice!
TWHD im needing a video done with promo shots . i just got signed to a management company out of tampa fl so im looking to get something done . my email add is livinforhimtillidie@gmail.com email me if you wanna work and we can talk.
great job
thanks man!
what fps did you use when you were shaking the camera?
everything shot at 120fps and then changed to 24fps :)
i like your shoots
Why thank u very much man!
A good director wouldve gotten the helicopter in the shot
a good director knows when a shot is useful and when it's not useful ;)
What's the shoulder rig u use?
hey dude, its from amazon. Its the 'newer' brand. Pretty cheap but it defo does the job!
I was actually looking at that exact model on amazon and was wondering if anyone on youtube is using it!
long and behold, you found one :p
Would you recommend it to a beginner? Going to shoot at a car event so idk if the one handle stabilizer from Best Buy will be good enough
You talking about the shoulder rig or the flycam?
how long have you been doing music videos?
Hey :) I've been doing music videos for like 3 years now :D
how can i see more of your work
check out my vimeo :) www.vimeo.com/omaralzidjali
Bet imma check you out. I'm a shooter to0 check a few of my videos out on my channel!
Just subbed ;) For a second there I thought u were using a 3 axis gimbal but I was wrong :p
How did you afford the camera ??
I do a lot of video shoots man. Corporate videos, music videos etc. I'm also a photographer so I get photo jobs too. And I don't spend my money on useless stuff (Expensive clothes, crazy shoes, clubbing, drinking, smoking). :D
OmarOmarOmar same here.

Talkless..show video more
Props to you man but you really gotta start learning more about your craft. Half the shit you say isn't really true and your vocabulary is out of this world lol. Youre doing your thing but if it's truly a passion to you you should learn more about the art, especially if you're gonna try to teach others.
Beginning of the video, I mention all the equipment I use. So, I'm not sure what's untrue about using a sony a7s mark 1. I then mention why I use shoulder rigs and the flycam (that's more of a personal preference). I then mention that I film in 120fps and then import it to a 24fps project file which doesn't seem wrong to me :p
also, the video turned out pretty damn good too so...
Does your camera have 120fps as a setting already and if not how does the card change this?
yea man it does. I can select it from the frame rate option. You have to make sure your camera is on NTSC format though, otherwise, if on PAL, it'll only have a 100fps option
8:00
I literally mention this 12 seconds into the video. Don't try and be a hero m8.
