"remove the fill cap before the drain cap" best solid advice anyone can ever be told. I made that mistake on my motorcycle. I drained the primary fluid before I took of the derby cover and i accidently stripped the allen screw and i wasn't able to take it off. I had to get a dremel and make a notch to unscrew it.
If you look up specs for differential fluids for Ram trucks, the only one that is OEM 75-140 weight is 3.92 limited slip. You can put in the 140 in any differential but not needed.
You lsd test doesn’t really work for rams anti-slip diffs. I have the lsd(anti-slip) it turns like an open diff on the lift. It only acts as an lsd when there is a load applied, because it has no pre load springs.
@@rudijones I have a "Service 4WD" light on in my vehicle. Hopefully changing the fluids will take care of it.... your video really helps to do the oil change without a lot of research time....
Honestly probably not a huge difference. More marketing hype. If it’s the right viscosity it will work. It’s a fluid that doesn’t get changed very frequently so I can justify the higher price for full synthetic but that’s just me. Thanks for watching.
For rear axle with 3.55 ratio like on Ram 2012 4.7L 4WD 75w90 going to both REAR and FRONT axle for NON LSD or so called Conventional Axle I have Ram 1500 4.7L 2012. So I am 100% sure cus I was searching for info for 2 days from different resources

I found that warming the bags in a pot of warm water makes the fluid fill faster. ( don’t boil it )😊

That front fluid looked good still.
I just crawled under my 2016 ram 1500 4x4. Both front and rear diffs are 3.21 gear ratio. I looked up online that they both take 75w90.
What about that little rubber piece on the diff pan
Wouldn't your truck just have traction control button inside the cab to turn it off ?

Great video. Whats the vehicle stand you're using? Ill need to get one of those for my truck.
Thank you. It’s a red jack tripod stand I get at Princess auto in Canada

You know of anyway to download updates without going to the dealer?
Is this the same for the 2015 5.7 hemi RAM 1500? Thank you
Great Video... Hex Socket bolt drain SAE OR METRIC ? number # ?
Rear Diferential ? Drain bolt
What is the difference between me using full synthetic vs synthetic? You would imagine you would only want full right?

The front needs 75w 85 for some

75w-140 x3
75w-90 x2
How much was it for all material?
About 120
This ram 2011 4x4 4.7?
It seems to have the HEMI badge, but other than that the 5.7 and the 4.7 I'm sure they are the same truck.

ALWAYS change your o-rings/gaskets. Never reuse. Even if its new and you just torqued it down.
For this purpose, It’ll be fine. Check to see if it’s leaking if you’re worried.
