    Not sure how adding tremendous heat to the chip doesn't cook it, since heat is a killer for them. I have the same problem but wonder if it's a loose wire in the connectors and since we are applying pressure to them when reinstalling them the fix is the same

    I'm so glad I watched this! I have 4 strands that randomly didn't work this year and I'm gonna try and fix them and save some money! Unfortunately I'm a dummy and don't read instructions and didn't think the little fuses were something I needed so I only have a couple now haha but now I know to keep them and how to use them so thank you! 😊

    Great demonstration, I was able to put my polaris blade easily and it was very helpful ... I was not a big fan of the skids being held in place by clevis pins... the pins are small and must hold a great amount of weight.... I opted to put washers in the space between the shoe and blade... now the weight is easily held... I will also say that the blade is easier to put together upside down.... (your connections are on the bottom) the blade to fram parts are accessable from how you demonstrated it however...

    good video. Is the tv still working? It's often recommended ALL the strips are replaced even if it is only one LED faulty. The reasoning behind this is because they are all the same age and the others will shortly fail so I'm just curious how long they last when only the failed LED is replaced.

    • @rudijones
      @rudijones День назад

      Still going one year later. It makes sense that they would all start to fail are same time but in reality some just last a whole lot longer than others.

    Great Video. The Fuel Shut off (at least on mine) is a bad design. It is too close to the contact for the electric shut off. So it is almost impossible to shut the fuel off without shutting the electric off. I had to install a manual fuel shut off.

    In my years of fixing Christmas lights, I have never encountered a bad fuse. Only time you really have to worry is if the strand was overloaded, which is nearly impossible to do with LEDs. You need like 40 sets connected end-to-end to even get close to the 3A fuse limit.

    Rudi, thank you for making this video -- super informative! I'd like to know more about the hearth pad you have. It sounds like you made it yourself. Did you have to cut the aluminum or were you able to buy the "pie slice" as is? What is the radius? Any other tips for a hearth pad for the 160 or 370? I've found it surprisingly difficult to find something contemporary and appropriately sized. Thanks!

    • @rudijones
      @rudijones 12 дней назад

      Thank you! I made the pad myself. I had some sheets of metal in the shop so the radius is 27 1/4” because that’s the piece I had available. Basically just follow the manufactures recommendations for hearth pad. Anything non combustible is fine.

    Almost at the end of your video, you mentiined the socket holding the bulb might be corroded but you did not say what to do about that. I am trying to fix a strand where quarter is working and the rest is not I pulled out every single one that is not working and put them back and they are still not workimg What I observed is one of the socket that is holding the bulb is badly corroded. What do I do in this instance?

    Hi, mine was vibrating very bad when switching gears especially. To the point that the engine light was turned on after just 600km drive from when i replaced my cat converter and o2 sensors. I am not a mechanic at all, but i decided to show my girlfriend which one is possibly causing the engine light on and the car shaking (after doing research), i pointed out the ignition coils and spark plugs, and then when i started the car, the engine light was not on anymore, but still shaking when engine is warm. It is kinda weird. But my question is, how can i check which ignition coil is causing the problem when the engine light is not on ?

    Taking off the valve is unsafe; it has a purpose to regulate the flame during use and it will leak.

    Thanks for this review. I only really need a snow shovel for my fairly small walkways, and back patio, as I subscribe to a snow removal service for my driveway. I was thinking of either getting this or the smaller, cheaper Greenworks Electric Snow Shovel - 12-in, which doesn't have wheels. How much difference in pushing effort do you think there might be between this and something quite a bit smaller and lighter without wheels? Any thoughts? Would this be overkill for a 12' and 15' walkway and 12x15' patio?

    You mentioned draining the tank when done. Do you find the 50 gal the right size or would you have gone smaller to make it easier to handle? I'm going to be building one for a 50 x 100 ft rink but I don't know if I'm going to fill and heat it at the house and then push it up hill or drag the hose to the rink and fill it up there.

    Rudi, Hope you're reading and responding to new comments on your old video? I already commented but thought I would ask what you paid (if you remember) for thar fuel pump? I have the P3000 model Gen which is almost exactly the same as yours and my pump was leaking fuel out the little weep holes in the bsck of the pump. When I went to look for the replacement pump, B&S and many others want near $80. I jusrt bought one from amazon for $21 and it’s all plastic. I haven’t instsalled it yert hoping you would reply. Was yours all plastic and is it still holding up for you? Again, this video is excellent for us with the B&S generators. You really did an outstanding job showing us how to fix! Thank You very much! Hope all is going well for you and your camping!
