I live in NJ, my husband and I would go crabbing every Sunday for many years, but we had boat and would go out into the creeks where we knew where the crabs were in abundance. We would usually come back with a bushel, all males because we wanted the females to reproduce. It was my job to clean the crabs as my husband cleaned the boat and engine so no salt water would sit in it. Anyway, I always cleaned the crabs before cooking them because I don't like any type of guts when I cooked them, and I feel that the seasoning got into the meat more effectively. One of the ways I liked to make as a dish was to take some light olive oil, butter, roasted chopped garlic cayenne pepper, smoked paparika, parsley, salt and pepper, I would sautee the crabs until cooked, then at the end I would add some oregano and a little more butter and stir it around until blended. Also, I would crack the claws before cooking so the flavor would get into the meat. Of course I would do the traditional way of steaming with Old Bay seasoning and some melted butter to dip the meat into, and make some crab tomato sauce to go with pasta. One time we caught the grand daddy of all crabs, it measured 10 inches from point to point and the claws 18 inches wide when spread out, I have pictures, I wish I could post them on here. I almost wanted to throw it back because it managed to survive as long as it did as I felt bad keeping it. My husband is passed now so this video has brought back alot of memories of those fun crabbing days, thanks for this video. 🙂🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀
@@OutsidetheLevees It's easy, just get a very large 14" frying pan , coat it with the oil and other ingredients and cook away. You can put Old Bay on these crabs also. 🙂

I was at the hook and line this summer, great prices, friendly knowledgeable service, had everything I needed for a good crabbing day. I hope all that crap didnt pollute the waterways and all the crabs I caught.
