"Nirvana - SLTS" - I must have heard this song a thousand times, and I still think it’s one of the best ever written. I know it was written before I was born, but I feel like it would still be relevant if it were released today. I tried to capture the raw spirit in this arrangement.

We all know his technical skill is great, but man this guy's arrangement ability is legendary. That shit is NOT easy, no matter how good a player you are.

@@kornbread5359 It does, you're right. But it also makes some things harder. Theory helps you understand patterns, and yeah that's super-important. But the most innovative arrangers have to ignore certain kinds of patterns.
Mr. Moon i released a song overnight, on my channel. Wanna analyze for me? I know what you mean, some of it is state of mind. By understanding theory well enough, the unwanted patterns are easier to ignore. I like to imagine the melody in my head, without visualizing, and then visualize what my pattern should be. I like the points you bring up.

Alexandr's creativity and dexterity is just on another level! He is the reason I started playing guitar 1.5 years ago and he is the one who inspires me like no one else does! Im getting a new guitar next month, and I have learnt many songs from him and YAY! My musical journey takes a whole new turn now.

@@riborlangl.nongpoh8632 just watching him play and make such creative approaches even in the simplest of songs used to blow me away, and I used to try his songs, an year ago (when I started playing) I couldn't do any of it, but now, I've learnt some of his songs and yep, that's how he inspires me

@@riborlangl.nongpoh8632 first of all mate, careless whisper is a really technical piece. On a normal guitar it will sound like crap because of normal tuners and high action (if you don't have a modified guitar). So gear matters here, then, you can always buy the tabs on his website, idk if they're available and just be dedicated to learn!

Omg. The skill is just unbelievable, but also the arrangement is just sublime and coming up with stuff like this is just insane. Hat off to you, sir. I've seen many fingerstyle artists from Andy Mckee and Trevor Gordon Hall, to Sungha Jung and Calum Graham. But this is next level!
Dude, we have the same sentiments! Misko is on a league of his own! I'm a classical guitarist too so I know what I'm talking about and I've seen them all, including Jon Gomm (the father of this percussive style) and Tommy Emmanuel. Alexandr Misko's techniques are legendary and earth-shatteringly revolutionary.

This is basically showmanship, that doesn’t have anything to do with being a musical prodigy, yes it shows a great talent in regards to the arrangement and the approach to play a certain song, but most of the listeners will be excited by whole drumming and tapping, rather than the song itself - it’s interesting to listen to, because he is doing covers, but once he starts doing his own songs, it won’t be as interesting to listen to
RDE Lutherie I‘m not talking about being jealous whatsoever, I said that there’s immense talent and dedication in his playing and if you really want to do this stuff, you can after loads of practice, since he didn’t invent these techniques, he mastered them and arranged songs based on these techniques
My point being is that for great songs you still need great melodies, a vocalist, a bass player and a drummer, basic classic guitar techniques without all the guitar drumming or playing with tuning or slapping will do, since all these techniques are mostly showmanship - go look at Tommy Emmanuel
Good songs do not require all the flashy techniques, but if you want to attract attention and do concerts as a one-man band, you might want to learn all this flashy stuff, or else not many people would want to go see you play
Either that, or you need memorable melodies and at least vocals to be successful - go ask Ed Sheeran, a strummer most of the time
RDE Lutherie and yeah, well, if you want to make people excited for Smells Like Teen Spirit, you can always play it how it was made originally
Or, if you want attention, and show people what you can do swiftly with tapping, artificial harmonics all over the place, drumming on guitar, you do exactly what he does, because no one really taps or drums all that much on violins, cellos etc
Showmanship in my statement isn’t faking anything, it’s putting skill on the forefront, because it’s the first and main thing people are paying attention to, if it’s the main focus of your presentation

There are plenty modern fingerstyle guitarists coming up every day, they are even of 7-10 years old now and getting younger, so if you really want to learn what Misko does, you can learn it (Phil Keaggy, who does it better, only has 4 fingers on his right hand)
But the problem with all of them is that they do covers of famous songs that have vocal lines on them, and we, as listeners, recognize these famous songs, primarily due to vocal lines, but then pay attention to myriad of techniques these players show us, rather than music
Instrumental music is good, but it can never become great without lyrics and appropriate vocals, and rarely can a melody be remembered being solely based on instrumental guitar music - it happened mostly in American 50-60s, but beyond then guitar instrumentals became either too Yngwie Malmsteen or these modern finger style pieces, where melody isn’t the main focus
Anyway, none of the modern one-man-band guitarists have written anything memorable, so the only reason we can appreciate them is for technical prowess and arrangement creativity that they do with famous songs. It might change one day, when general public will listen and sing these instrumental pieces, but I highly doubt it
@RDE Lutherie i was reading your long ass conversation and i came across the harmonics part. There are two types of harmonics: natural, and artificial. The difference being natural harmonics are on open frets 12, 7 and 5. Artificial harmonics are more flexible. You can create any harmonic on any string anywhere. By pressing fret 4 for instance, you can now play harmonics on fret 16 (12 + 4) of that string. Or even 9 (5 + 4). Its a difficult technique to master however, playing the string with your thumb while placing your index over the harmonics fret

SO far the Best arrangement of this song i have seen ! To be honest just a couple guys more do a great arrangement but this it's My favorite! The rest of other people playing this song it's the same copy from and it's Bad! Like the Chorus Part a Lot of people dont play the "yeah" correctly and for me that it's the Best part of the songit's like the copy of the same easiest tab and they claim the song like if they were their own arrangement and it's not because i can tell and watching many vídeo of this song and i got tired of it but your solo it's amazing and the whole arrangement is good!
