Printing "fun" items can be cool, but personally, I find it VERY satisfying to model and print functional parts. There's just something about needing a thing, then making that thing real and holding it and then putting it to use to solve a problem or fulfill a need. It's so satisfying!
I love the freedom in design and implementation - especially if the parts are no longer made or were never manufactured. I have a problem; I solve the problem; I find a new problem.
Jessy, these are the videos I live for. Thank you. I wish you'd do more videos on print files all themed around something. The one problem I have with the openness of the 3D print hobby is the fact that it's so overwhelming when looking for models. You basically have to know what to look for, there are few resources that print and review models.
I also highly recommend using the 3d printable Multiboard storage solution on the wall above your tools. I printed an entire wall and started to hang smaller hand tools and accessories for my power tools and it looks awesome! It also keeps things very organized.
Terrific video, I have almost every single one of these items in my shop. I have a massive dust collector and even had to 3D print some blastgate valves. You should check out the really cool coil hose holders for air compressor setups to make a manifold for blowguns, tools, HVLP and airbrush organization. 👍🏽👍🏽
nice video, that vaccuum attachement to catch while dust while you're drilling is cool! I was glad you were wearing a dust mask when sanding drywall, even with the vac, that stuff will tear your lungs up!
Awesome Stuff ! I absolutely love practical prints, don't think I've ever printed anything non practical but still, that's where I see a lot of benefit for the future, people with passion creating products :)
Whilst those shelf brackets look super cool, I'd be cautious about how much weight they are subjected to as the required print orientation means that the layer lines will be vertical and in the same direction as the forces acting on them which means they won't be as strong as a bracket printed on its side.
Great vid thanks! As for the cyclone, I’ve used one for woodworking for yearrrsss, and the dust should NOT be in your shop vac! It should be in your cyclone bucket lol. That’s the whole point, to save the filter getting dusted up. My shop vac has barely anything in it at all and I regularly have to carefully empty the cyclone bucket, as it’s rammed with sawdust.
That back wall needs a honeycomb wall. Reprint the Dewalt sign with Honeycomb mounts and make all the mounts for your other gear that sits on the shelf.
The circular saw mount looks a bit fiddly to use? And maybe you're going to end up taking a chunk out of the wall. Maybe stand it off from the wall with a back plate to protect the wall?
As far as the circular saw mount, why not just make the mounts deeper to be able to single handedly mount the saw, without the need for messing with the safety cover? Much safer, and easier!
Don't print functional parts at 0.3 layer height with a 0.4 nozzle. It noticeably reduces layer adhesion making them more prone to cracking. Switch to 0.6 nozzle to print at 0.3. Or instead of increasing layer height, increase line width and reduce wall count to keep same thickness. Will make the prints faster without layer adhesion issues.
Jesse with the Vitiligo can you isolate your resin 3d printers so you reduce your in office, exposure to UV. Obviously sunlight is gonna to be fair more damaging, but I assume you would use sunscreen etc. Just curious as I saw that UV exposure can increase symptoms and I know you do the timelapses without UV hoods so just wondering if that could be a risk factor you could reduce.
fantastic Video as usual. looking forward to the review on the upcoming elegoo centar.... whatever it's called Printer as i am in the market for a new printer.
For the cyclone dust collector, its super cool but by time you pay for filament (comments on the printables say it'll use about a kilo) and spend the time printing and assembling you're going to end up with a product that is at best equal to but more likely slightly inferior to the mass manufactured version and costs almost as much. Don't get me wrong, it's super cool but I'm just not sure it's worth all the effort to save a couple of dollars.
Hey Uncle Jesse! Was online a bit with your folks in a car on way to Canada recently, than was put into the glove box! Love that large format printer you have there, what a beast! Curious how things have been with that printer. Pros and Cons many months later. My shop has similar bracket files from printables, I make them using 25%QIDIABS_GF Filament, the stuff is the bomb where you use for structural supports, also any 10%CF or GF ABS is good, but QIDI25%GF_ABS is one of my secret weapons used for items like the shelf supports, I swear by this filament. I found a great cyclone seperator somewhere, killer design, if I can find where I grabbed it will post back.....my little image is one piece of believe was a 4 or 5 part print, all fit into my Q1 Pro when I printed it last April. It is a great design, works amazingly well, similar one online ran around $179
Hi bro 🔥 I love your content, I see your use Elegoo Neptune I buy one 4 Max in june love it but recently did Blob of Dead 😢 and I dont use this machine lot. Do you recommend buy original Hotend or other? Or you have any idea because is happens. Thank
@@UncleJessy you have very nice table, I don’t even have wood table, plastic one, need to drill something, need some wood under model. Start thinking when I start doing it… from 10 years old, so for 40 years I do same…
I was wondering what you screwed into when mounting your brackets to the wall. All I saw was tiny screws. Just looked a bit flimsy and I don't want everything to crash down on you so I had to say something. If I missed something and you know what your doing please ignore me. Look for a bracket that alows you to turn iover and mount your disk sander as a stationary sander to work on
Like me if you live in Arizona, and your house faces to the West, and your garage gets over 100+ degrees please don't print in PLA, learned the hard way when many of my tool holders deformed.
@unclejessey that glue uses the same primary ingredient chemical that was banned in painter remover. You should be wearing gloves to keep that off your skin, since its highly toxic.
The 3D Printed Cyclone Dust filter is wild!

This definitely helped scratch an itch and I have a feeling I will be doing some more practical prints around the shop
I’m with you. I prefer to print things that help me do something of fix something.
Practical prints are the best especially if you are doing it for friends. Love to show what the possibilities are.
For me, cell phone stand, various clamps, hooks and wall mount power tool battery hangers are some of most used prints
I love the freedom in design and implementation - especially if the parts are no longer made or were never manufactured. I have a problem; I solve the problem; I find a new problem.
Should have printed the sign to say "DeWall"

Love the practical prints for a change! Would like to see some more in the future as well.
Thanks! Feels nice to have a proper spot for things now!
I second the MultiBoard for the wall behind it. I am printing mine right now.

love practical prints and vids sharing them.... i have sooo many practical prints myself and i'm constantly finding more.
Vacuum hose adapters FTW! Thanks for finding and sharing 🤟
Awesome! Moving my shop, this is just what I needed.
Hope it helps!
I love practical prints. I say do more videos like this.

Congrats on hitting 500k🎉
Thanks!
Always love seeing practical prints. I do wonder how I ever managed before I had 3d printers!

I’m printing that drill bit holder right now
Heck yeah!!! I can't believe I didnt already have something like that on my drill
This was a really good and practical printing video I'm redoing my garage and tools so this was perfect timing and congrats on the subs 🎉🎉🎉

so rad, thanks!
Super helpful video. I’ll be printing a bunch of these myself.
I can recommend the DeWalt DCE530 heat gun (with battery). It stands on its own, so no extra things are needed 😁
That cyclone one is probably the best one on this list (in my opinion)
Easy to print! I’m working on a mod for mine to see if I can build a cleaner setup to connect to my shop vac
These drill dust collectors... How did we ever manage without it?
congrats on 500k :)
Thanks!
When you print your first Vase it blows your mind 🎉

Those fake battery mount options are genius!
I printed some battery mounts for my Rigid tools and they work amazingly.

That tape measure you used looks cool
That is the T1 Tomahawk! It’s awesome but $$

I love the elegoo Neptune pro 3 I have so glad you review the 4
Make the wall side if the circular saw mount thicker so the saw us farther from the wall and you won't have to worry about the boade guard.
I had a twitch in my eye watching him screw in the mounts with that small bit 😬😂
😂 never said I knew what I was doing 🤣
Not the way a cyclone should work :) The dust should be kept OUT of your vacuum and filter, and end up in the bucket.
I tink that wall needs a 3d printed peg board :D

Smoking great ideas. I love it.
I've never seen a heat gun that couldn't already stand by itself.
But you risk fire fast if that restriction of airflow isn’t addressed 🤷♂️

Wouldn't you be able to use an under mount headphone holder design for the reciprocating saw?
Those brackets look like you forgot to remove the supports 😊

When you drilled holes on the table, put one more piece of wood under model, so you don’t drill to the table and damage it.
The print was angled so when it went through it was still in the air. But yes agree

gridfinity for the cabinet drawers.
Speaking of Dewalt, do you have a Stealthsonic vacuum? If not, grab your wallet a RUN to get one. They are miraculous.
Is there a place to see what settings yoymu have for your Neptune 4 printer?
Do you have a shop on Etsy or something? I like buying 3D prints unassembled and unpainted.
That screw/bolt measuring tool would come in handy. Need to print one for myself.
Used it twice already! Hitting up harbor freight this weekend for a bin organizer for all the loose bolts/screws
i have a question where would recommend taking a 3 d printer to get repaired?
@UncleJessy do you have a link for the 3D Gloop you used in the video?
3dgloop.com/ and i believe code UNCLEJESSY for 10% off
What is the pla glue you mentioned?
What iPad CAD software are you using?
