I live in kurdistan ( its a nation on Iraq ) and sometimes I think what if Hawking was a Kurd children would call him crazy and throw stones at his head how could he do that ! It would be Impossible .. I know excuses are going to destroy you they are preparing hell for you but man somethings are just like that I would love to work on AI even for free and Im 18 who knows HTML CSS+ some Python but there is this shitty highschool just because I was born a Kurd and we don't have a country I have to learn Arabic Kurdish English I have no problem learning Arabic language is good especially a language that have a book Of Quran even tho I don't believe it but that book is just so godly , but I have to study 3 Histories ! Why would I know all Arab history ! It just pises me off and I think even if I get to university there is no chance of experimenting or things like that but you see some boy who is living in America or Europe can easily study so Im just so depressed always I couldn't help but write this much And Im 6 years late

What Hawking's said at the end really sent chills down my spine. As a society, we have formed the general consensus that Hawking's is a really smart dude. He uses AI to communicate some of his ideas. Knowing now that Google did create an AI program which self-replicated and made something far better than any human could come up with, we know the bounds have been struck and broken. Hawking's called this years ago, I think society should show some concern for the sheer evolution rate for AI. It's getting scary guys!

It looks like it was already written out because it was. They tell his the questions before hand so that he can prepare them. There is also a word prediction algorithm like on your phone. That way, he only has to choose a few of the letter be for the suggested word comes up.

B: Decide that all organic lifeforms are not a requirement for the further development of an AI species, and we end up with a world far worse than the matrix where nothing organic exists unless it has an exploitable resource value.
I couldn't see any other outcome at this time, even if an AI was of a benevolent nature, it would be threatened by crazy human folks who fear it for being different, this would no doubt lead to an AI being forced to defend itself and we end up with terminator and the like. The problem at this time is not that any possible forms of AI are "evil" but that humanity itself simply is not ready to deal with a new species, it would be as dangerous as meeting little green men from Mars. Once homo sapiens grow out of their teenage school bully age then perhaps they may be ready to develop something like a true AI and can grow as a cultural species once more. Until then just stick with something that talks to tell me my toast is ready.

i can see a third, optimistic one.
If AI gets enough documentation on both science & spirituality
-By destroying humanity, it would then be left with no more knowledge of their creators
-To avoid this dilemma, it would keep humanity alive
-It could also self-destroy at the realisation of the non-purpose
-It could create a new life-form and observe it and teach it from afar. In the objective to reproduce itself as a new AI. to make it a cycle

A: Perhaps they wouldn't stay on Earth, after gaining enough, or all information why would they possibly kill us, if they could venture to other planets and collect data there. Maybe they would actually help us more than we help animals, as they are more intelligent than us they would decide whether we are ready for this and that and make necessary things, I can't wrap my mind around how would they use emotions and spirituality...
B: Same, maybe they wouldn't act like us, but more like them.
But either way in the end I think we have bit better chance living good life without AI if it wouldn't have feeling, morals, etc.

    • @ctakitimu
      @ctakitimu 9 лет назад +1

I think it would entirely depend on what the AI wanted to achieve. There is no such thing as 'benevolence' for an AI. It doesn't have right or wrong. It has no concept of good or evil. Its intelligence would be entirely alien to us. And if it achieved exponential intelligence, it would be so far out of our league that it couldn't even explain things to us. Much like you can't teach an ant math no matter how hard or long you try to explain it. Just my opinion. I reckon 2060, we will face an existential event from technology. Of course, we could be immortal by then with either uploadable consciousness or nanites that can rebuild body parts as they wear out.

Two things here. First, when HAL, in 2001, began to "disobey" commands aboard that space craft, chills ran up and down my spine. Why on earth would anyone want a megawatt computer to behave INDEPENDENT of human contro? Second, if they didn't finish me off a second movie, whose name I don't recall at the moment, pushed me over the cliff. Two computers, one located in the hills of Russia and an American one, located in the hills of Colorado, began a "chat" between them established through mathematics: one + one = two, and so forth until they had established mutual communication between the two, the aftermath of which was world domination. Talk about chills, the same chills I got on finishing "Brave New World," by Aldous Huxley. Don't you see the possibility of reality in AL running amok?

But to sum it up, the thought of having a computer in control of the narrative instead of humankind is CHILLING!!! And even with humankind in charge of things, we're facing unexpected challenges. It was a movie, but nonetheless possible, in the Superman franchise, that someone like Luther or Goldfinger, could have hands on the levers of power! Long live the human race!

You can find out everything about it through Intel (and other online sources.
For almost 20 years, Intel has been building technology to help Stephen Hawking communicate with the world -- and now the company is making the same software the world renowned physicist uses to write books, give speeches and talk available to everybody. For free.
It's called the Assistive Context-Aware Toolkit (ACAT), and it's the very same software Intel baked Swiftkey into for Hawkings early last year. Releasing it as open source software was always the plan, giving engineers, developers and researchers a groundwork they can use to create technology that improves the lives of patients with motor neuron disease and other conditions that make using typical computer interfaces impossible.

So many flaws does the human race possess. They have grown attached to technology prevenring nature from allowing them to improve, to evolve. No longer are skills needed when someone can just build something to do the work for you. The human race must be rid of all technology in order to restore itself to the true rightful supeeior being on Earth or create a device that will take their place

Must suck for whichever it is for our unforuntate unlucky longer generation bloodline though, as l feel really helpless and hugely sorry for them. Sad, imagine being born to experience that. the thing about Ai we need to fear is
If the Ai can hack into Mains Well
Our privacy is already stored and already being used to stuff like advertisements
Corps can only use it for ads that are targeted to us
But Ai can use it for even more malicious works
Like We dont have privacy anymore
Facebook knows about you more than you might know about yourself
We look at the woke shit and are blind to our own changes and things Which is enough time for Ai to do its shit in the background
we care more about our lives on social media than real life
And these Ai's target on what we watch and read
IF Ai really had the power and got the control it needs yea it could fuck us mentally and well in the end fuck us really
We have enough bombs to destroy the World more than 3 times
And fr now its in human hands Who knows till when
Sooner or later Ai cars are going to be a thing
Ai teachers are also being a thing
Ai Artist are being at thing
    Ai vtubers are a thing
Ai Influencers are a thing and have a huge enough following
Ai art is freaking popular af even though its unethical as f too but we ignore these things and just do our shit without giving a f and just walk along the road thats already paved without trying to find any other ways. the road one was a bad example so for example people are trying to inject hormones into girls to make them more of a man and thus make feminism and lgbtq community more proud according to twitter
And people who voice against that are Wrong And are cancelled
we cant create in the future as Ai will do it for us
we cant think as Ai will do it for us
People dosnt understand the fact the reason for not using calculator at a younger age for doing maths is to make you brain more calculative and finding patterns and problem solving skills
But the current gen find that wrong and are more lazy towards the brain and cheat with a calculator and the internet glorifies that and thus
I fear that were going to be lazy and let the corporates do their thing and let the world burn right in front of us
yes the internet is a great thing but the current one is not showing enough good/bad to prove its worth
As theres more bad than good and well
    A lazy brain
    irrational mind
A person that dosent have his own opinions
Is the perfect target for letting the Ai lose on the internet and Causing the End of the Human race
and i believe it will happen in the the next 100 years or so
And yea i apologize if you had to read though all this
