$20 filled up my Honda civic from empty to full 90% of the time. If people didn't buy gas guzzling monster trucks you wouldn't need to worry about gas prices.
By only driving when the tank is more than half full aren’t you going to have a lower average efficiency, since you are always carrying the weight of the unused gas? So you would theoretically get more mileage if you exclusively ran at less than half a tank vs always using the upper half of your fuel capacity?
I think what he’s talking about is that his fuel gauge says half and then he puts $20 in and it says full again. He just doesn’t realize the gauge isn’t accurate immediately after filling it up
What he is saying is that when you go down to 1/2 (worth 40$ but it doesnt matter) you fill 1/4 (half of what you used) and then you have 75% of your tank full so you feel like its almost full, then do that again when it drops to 1/2 you fill only 1/4 and thats how you keep driving on almost full tank for 20$
Fuel senders/gauges aren’t linear so he’s actually right if they were, but some vehicles they move fast from full to half, other cars, half to empty. So much confusion… which also sucks if you’re low on gas and need the gauge to be accurate lol
I thought that cars were more efficient in their first half of tank than their second half. While poorly worded. You theoretically could drive further if you consistently only used your upper half tank of gas.
When I had a car, I only put in 22 dollars max every payday as that car was just for work and even then I keep it running on 3.5 gallons of gas at all times.
This high budget comedic talk show really just played a remade RUclips video that most people saw 6+ months ago and added no comedic input whatsoever like they’re a 2015 reaction channel.
Actually the opposite does save fuel, only filling your tank half way and running to near empty before filling up reduces the weight of your car and (marginally) reduces fuel use.
Actually, the mythbusters had an episode on this similar to the one where they tested if only making right turns saved on gas! Filling up full gave them the extra few miles to the gallon needed to get to your house and rail your dad
I feel like the insanely small amount of gas that would save is wiped out by the extra 1/10 of a mile you now have to drive to pull into a gas station an extra time
It also makes it much more likely that debris will make it from your tank to your fuel filter and/or pump. It's not good to run with almost no gas in the tank. Although I used to have a friend that would try to tell me his car got better mileage when he kept the tank full. He was a special kind of stupid.
@@craigisapunk not true! It actually saves on distance in the long run since me and your dad can just slip into the bathroom at the station instead of renting a motel room
@@MrEazyE357 this is actually not true! For example: if me and your dad are spending the night together, it's better to have periodic snacks to keep up stamina instead of a full meal weighing us both down. The car is like that!
Something I learned in driver's ed: your engine burns gas faster the closer to empty it is I don't know if the difference is enough to half your gas bill, but it is true that if you never let your tank get below half full, in the long run you'll spend less because you'll always be using that gas at a consistent, slower rate than if you let it get down to a quarter

The best thing about this is Shaq has a PHD in Human Resource Development and owns multiple multi-million dollar businesses including Papa Johns, Five Guys and Krispy Kremes. And is a DJ on the side. All after a HoF NBA career. The man is an enigma 😂
God I love Shaq. Inside The NBA is the best show on television.
This is some serious dad logic.😅
Real fans of inside the nba have seen this already, but this super cut was great loool 10/10
Can't wait to hear Tom Brady's words of wisdom at $37 million per year.
I'd pay good money for Bart Scott to tackle him on air
*CAN'T WAIT*
Turns out his fuel gauge just calls a 75% full tank half full.
$20 filled up my Honda civic from empty to full 90% of the time. If people didn't buy gas guzzling monster trucks you wouldn't need to worry about gas prices.
Watching this live every time is so hilarious 🤣
This guy could be the next Presidential nominee with that logic.
American education system is broken .. 😂🤣
For Shaq, the glass isnt half full, it's $20 worth of water.
You can tell Shaq' is a low key parent; 'Case closed, shut the hell up, all of you.' The way every strong Dad ends an argument.
He right if you living check to check. That 80 hit hards all at once
"...but....this one goes to eleven?"
Shaq also once thought that the moon was closer to Atlanta, Georgia than the west coast.
There's another thing people don't know about Shaq: his amplifier goes to 11.
Didn't expect to see Shaq recommend microdosing with gas but here we are.
That's a quality education he got from LSU.
I follow Shaq’s gas technique these days…hurts a lil less 😂 😭
This method actually does save you money if prices are on a downward trend, but this would cost you more currently with rising prices
By only driving when the tank is more than half full aren’t you going to have a lower average efficiency, since you are always carrying the weight of the unused gas? So you would theoretically get more mileage if you exclusively ran at less than half a tank vs always using the upper half of your fuel capacity?
@@zb5583 No, your fuel efficiency actually goes up when your tank is fuller
Bro wtf. You’re wrong. If it’s on a downward trend, then gas prices would actually be lower when the tank is empty.
I love that man so much
He forgot to say he was cost averaging and buying when the price drops. Lol.
Amazing logic. Amazing entertainment.
1:12 if you get Ernie to this state, you're doing something unhinged
I love Shaq
I think what he’s talking about is that his fuel gauge says half and then he puts $20 in and it says full again. He just doesn’t realize the gauge isn’t accurate immediately after filling it up
Sad thing? Shaq thinks he’s right.
What he is saying is that when you go down to 1/2 (worth 40$ but it doesnt matter) you fill 1/4 (half of what you used) and then you have 75% of your tank full so you feel like its almost full, then do that again when it drops to 1/2 you fill only 1/4 and thats how you keep driving on almost full tank for 20$
And these are adults! Nominally, at least.
That's like going back multiple times for a gram when you should've just bought that 8-ball.
I absolutely love that KIA sponsored all of these messages.
I’m with ya Shaq
Remember, this man holds a doctoral degree in education.
I'm surprised Shaq didn't ask the pump how many rings it has.
Now I imagine Shaq engaging philosophical debates in ancient Greek which all end up with some ass whooping...
when two of your favourite things collide, john oliver and inside the nba
What is this "gas" you speak of? My car gets plugged into the wall.
When I had a car, I only put in 22 dollars max every payday as that car was just for work and even then I keep it running on 3.5 gallons of gas at all times.
This high budget comedic talk show really just played a remade RUclips video that most people saw 6+ months ago and added no comedic input whatsoever like they’re a 2015 reaction channel.
they do it all the time, such a shame, LWT has fell off
That does actually help your fuel injectors.
Something I learned in driver's ed: your engine burns gas faster the closer to empty it is
I don't know if the difference is enough to half your gas bill, but it is true that if you never let your tank get below half full, in the long run you'll spend less because you'll always be using that gas at a consistent, slower rate than if you let it get down to a quarter
This is a prime example of why you shouldn't believe everything you hear in driver's ed
Shaq has successfully hacked the matrix. Seriously, the maths checks out I asked Elon and he agrees
All our genii together saving us from gas 😂😂😂
"Is it safe to do a full body workout every other day? If I go every other day I will be at the gym 4-5 times a week, is that over training?
I typically work out for 60-90 minutes, I push my self and raise the weight each week."
"That makes no sense. There are only 7 days in a week. If you go every other day that is 3.5 times a week."
@@UnscannableDrew "Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday. That is 4 days.
How do you go 3.5 times? Do a half workout or something? lol"
@@IsiahTomas "7x in 2 weeks = 3.5 times a week, genius.
And yeah, 3x a week, full body workouts are good."
@@SuperShado101 "I never said anything about going exactly 7 times, like I said, if I go every other day, that is 4 DAYS A WEEK. How hard is that to comprehend?
Week 1 - Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Week 2 - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.
8 DAYS IN 2 WEEKS
In your terms,
8x in 2 weeks = 4 times a week, genius.
All Muscle and No Brains? lol"
@@IsiahTomas "You double counted Sunday - that is 2 weeks plus 1 day.
Did you fail grade 2 math ?
PLUS your old post said 4 or 5 times a week. Now you just neglect to mention the 5.

"Alright gas let's puts in 200% this trip" -Shaq
Someone please tell him, his fuel meter aint working right...lmao
My man Shaq took his math classes from Scott Steiner. Iykyk.
I do the same thing. I know it is not actually saving me money, but it feels better.
I don't even know who these people were, but that was wonderful.
He’s leaving out the part where he only gives the clerk $20 for $40 of gas and says ‘what you gonna do, call the cops on Shaq?’
