Forever grateful that John Oliver has a permanent spot on Seth and Stephen’s respective couches
It's nice that they're like 10 blocks, downtown between the furthest of them.
Alas, I am done with Colbert.
@@archmage_of_the_aether Haven't watched him in a long time. Any particular reason you're done with him? The Colbert Report was one of the best shows on TV, but I just wasn't crazy about him as a late night talk show host.
Not as grateful as John will be if Clarence ever takes his offer and his wife kicks him out
Amen
The quiet shade of "So they don't get deleted, we gave them to youtube..."
I know it killed me he didn’t go into that more
Copying task master
Anyone knows on which channel they are? I don't think they're on the Last Week Tonight channel.
They are but for every country, it seems they only hold the copy right for a few, maybe even only the US so use a VPN.
* not
Why can I not edit my own comment?
The museum bit made John break so much lol. It was hilarious.
he cant break since hes not playing a role
😂
@@davidcohen4518crack up, we all got it
Someone as self aware can probably appreciate the/his historical irony.
@@davidcohen4518 He stopped functioning. He broke down in laughter. A person can break, not just a character.
John stomping when he’s sooo tickled by Seth is the happiness I didn’t know I needed!! But their genuine friendship and Seth knowing how to get John to laugh like that totally warms my heart ❤️
lol he gets little kid feet when he laughs.
John so high he can't stop giggling...
If you want to see adorable happy John-ness, you should look up the gift Russell Howard gave him for his son.
Seriously, his giggles and stomping and dimples are so heartwarming and uplifting :) You just can't help but crack up with him 😅
I loved this too 🥰♥️ made me happy ✨
The sheer joy of Oliver like "I *did* do that, yeah".
John Oliver is basically the ultimate troll, but he uses his powers for good instead of evil.
@@jbearclowater as he said on the Strike Force 5 podcast "I am extremely petty, have access to HBO's budget, and am perfectly happy to weaponize both of those things"
@@jbearclowater *perfectly stated* !!
@@cleverusername9369 yep, best quote ever (among a hundred or so best quote ever others)
The sad thing is Clarence Thomas is so corrupt that his nest is being feathered at amounts far far greater than John could ever hope to compete with... 😞
“There’s no way of knowing” with that delivery is the best line I’ve heard in years. BRAVISSIMO.
The rare and beautiful BRAVISSIMO joke and I’m here for it (so don’t claim otherwise and leave it behind the bins)
These 2 are what you call PERFECT chemistry between peers
John and Stephen are also best buddies
They work together a bit, work buddies & actual buddies
They seem like they're great friends. They've been working together quite a bit since the podcast, so they must have really hit it off once they spent some significant time together.
I LOVE JOHN OLIVER!!!! HE IS SO FUNNY!!!!
After all, they came of age at the same time.
"you're fine with where they've been getting their stuff" :) .. John Oliver has zero f*cks to give and deserves all his success..
John gives ALL the fucks; that is why he is where he is (and all the hard work).
He's a modern-day court jester, speaking truth to power. While also looking a bit like a squirrel.
The British Museum is totally cool and has never stolen anything.
He almost certainly has lots of issues with the British Museum as well
@@StarkRG And a lot like a bird!
I adore John Oliver. He's so self-deprecating & yet the people who go after him still don't have a clue how vicious he can be when attacked. I have such a huge crush on him.😂
His dimples are cute, too.
You've described my feelings abiut Jon Oliver perfectly. This makes two of us!😍💕🥰
Dimples, eyes, laugh… yup. He’s dreamy 😍
He's only into birds though lol
And Adam Driver.
John Oliver is one of the few real ones. Genuinely happy I'm living through his prime.
What? Real what ones? I’m a trauma surgeon so I think I’m real?
@@nuschlerclark895
Settle down, Doc!
The reference was to TV talking heads, if I'm not mistaken.
Wow, you have horrible judgment of character
John Oliver and Seth Meyers have the most stoner college roommate energy that I have ever witnessed on a talkshow.
This almost exactly like getting to my friend's/dealers house after my last day of Highschool in 2003 (I was done after the first semester I just went back to get my diploma and say some "see ya laters" and what not) and my friends were doing the exact same style of teasing me about going to Graduation which was that night knowing full well that I there's zero chance of that happening... I even first responded dead serious that the reason I was there was to invite everyone to my graduation... It was the exact same vibes...
And I love it lol
The only difference is that, among stoner friends when I was in college, it was passe to give a s*** about current events. (I understood why though; we grew up with constant headlines about IEDs and body armor shortages and no one had the emotional bandwidth for it.)
they are such best friends
It is delightful to watch them make each other laugh so hard that they turn into giggly children on stage.
I really love watching these two crack eachother up
watching John Oliver dissolve in laughter has got to be one of the most awesome things.
"You love museums where everything was given as a gift". Man, Seth really outclassed him in that one.
he definitely understood who he was talking to
Watching John Oliver giggle is one of the few things that immediately makes my day
Two of my absolute favorite hosts have taken it to another level. There’s clearly been an upgrade as Seth knows EXACTLY how to make John jump and laugh so hard he turns into a weeble wobble.
John needs to go to the Met in the pūteketeke bird outfit!!!!!!
Glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought that.
This.
Exactly!!! 😂
Brilliant!
Even as a french and looking from afar, I love so much these two shows. Really appreciate John for giving us beginings of solutions.
Keep up the good work, you are bright lights fighting the current raise of obscuritism !
Bonjour from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
Ya, safa here, obviously it's America centric, but since stories are global
@kurtsudheim825 It's always interesting to watch what's going on out there but it's also no big surprise how we often end up facing similar issues soon after the US. And John reportages on stuff like chocolate monopoly is affecting us globaly.
"a french"??
@@thehellyousay yes, meaning his English isn't perfect just like your French isn't. Oh wait, it's probably significantly better than your French.
He can just do a go fund me for it. I’m sure he could find one million people to give one dollar for Clarence Thomas to resign.
And I'm sure plenty would be willing to give 2 or 3, for the off chance that Thomas lives more than a year.
My thoughts exactly...I know I'd certainly chip in.
I’d pitch in.
I'm in
not even american but i'd chip in too
It’s such a genuine friendship with these two❤❤
Day Drinking with John Oliver please!!!
Oh goodness. John doesn't seem to have a filter WITH his inhibitions intact. What would that even be like?
Why can't we just have the show be like this forever? John and Seth just chatting and greatly enjoying the pleasure of each other's company.
When John mentioned Jennifer Coolidge Seth should have broken out his flawless impression (of Owen Wilson).
Wah-owwwww!!
I was REALLY hoping for that!
I love Seth's impressions!
The way Seth broke John was AMAZING!!!!! Together they are too funny, you can see the two friends having fun :)
Last Week Tonight did an episode recently about stolen artifacts in museums. That gives a whole lot of context to this discussion.
3:45 "I love fancy occasions and socializing with people I don't know. It's a win-win for me!"
I love these men with all my heart, I do.
What I like is the certain knowledge that Thomas is kinda wistful about that offer.
He's a deranged psychopath but a deeply greedy one at that. Sure he stroked his chin thinking about it.
His wife would never let him live it down lol
You would think he wouldn’t be worried about the optics of it…
If John Oliver would've made the offer in private Clarence Thomas would've taken it in a New York minute.
That greedy asshole probably cries bitter tears for every cent he's losing out on for not taking the deal 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Ahaha I love John’s sobering perspective of the Met Gala. 😏
Consistent with the episode his show did about museums.
Seth goes to the Gala for the free food; John declines because he thinks stray puppies should be returned to their owners, and apparently because he just doesn't care for galas.
Someone watches last week tonight 😊
The friendship between all the night show hosts is everything
I agree! I love them all and I love that they’re friends
All of them? Even James Corden?
@@RealnoMis he’s not a host anymore
@@RealnoMis Ewww... Don't even mention him, please!
Strike force 5 was such a gem. I really wish they would keep doing that.
There's such a "best buds" vibe between you two! Bring John more often plz. 🥰🥰🥰
I don't have the words to express the joy this brought me!!!!! 💞 😂 🤗
I love John's uncontrollable laughing fits. What a delight!
I love when he slaps his thigh or his desk when he laughs. 😀
Chemistry between these 2 are amazing
Rare and delightful
I love seeing their friendship
Always love it when these two characters get together 😂
John and seth together are amazing!! I. So glad theyre friends :)
John Oliver is amazing. Last Week Tonight is a very important show. Im so glad they're releasing full episodes. I've been watching a lot. Too much actually. But it's hard not to
"Hopefully, that will be you." *dimples* 😂
one of my favorite talkshow exchanges ever.
Seth making Jon laugh so hard he can't speak is golden.
Every time someone talks about going to the Met Gala, I think “be careful in the Capital, Katniss”.
I’m with John. I would never go willingly.
John Oliver should go to the Met gala in one of his many bird outfits
truly, honestly need this duo to get together once a month at least
Day drinking with Seth but including John, Jon, Stephen, Jimmy & Jimmy
That would be amazing!
John should go to the MET in the Mr. Nutter Butter suit.
Or as Chi-John!
Or the Space Gecko!
Or as New Zealand's pūteketeke bird
His puteketeke costume would be tame compared to the Met Gala...
It would have been on theme for him to wear that, though.
“Or previous years… or future years..” lololol perfect
I love John Oliver so much. ❤
It's always hilarious to watch JO come on and just laugh his ass off
I love that you can tell these guys are real genuine friends.
Everything about their friendship is so fun to watch! John stomping his foot makes my soul (what's left of it) smile.
Strange seeing a casual John!
I love it
I love it!
The caption thought Seth said, "banana tux," which sounds like something John Oliver would absolutely wear.
I have never, EVER seen John Oliver break so hard as he did for the Met Gala question. That was *amazing*.
I love the genuine connection between two of my favorite guys! I hope you record a special of your shows that you've done together. I am sure it's just brilliant.
To listen to John cry/laugh at Seth cracks me up!!
We need the Strike Force Five back!!!
I just love watching the interaction between you two. Thank you.
Thomas would never take such a small amount to retire. He gets way more from his bosses to stay in office and vote as they wish.
Obviously. The point being made is that he is bought by the highest bidder, when he's supposed to be serving citizens in one of the most important roles in the country. Your focus on the amount illustrates why this situation exists: America is all about money and personal greed - justice is treated as an inconvenience
These two love each other and it makes the show amazing.
Yes
I can't make it to NYC to see you two, so... how 'bout video taping your set at the Beacon and airing it on some streaming service (maybe Max or Peacock?) for those of us who would love to see you together for an hour.
I love these two interacting so much!
The Met talk reminds me of (can't remember where I heard it):
Q: What's something that feels British, but isn't?
A: The contents of the British Museum...
Not everything has dubious origins.
I want to see Seth and John go day drinking.
PLEASE! That would be the most unhinged thing ever.
Still not sure why he thought Clarence Thomas would want to reduce his income.
But the thing is, no one knows...it's supposedly a six figure income which doesn't start with a 1 but defo not with an 8. But Thomas, who had previously complained, now seems happy with his salary. So....how much is it?
@@LindaC616 I'm pretty sure the salary isn't that outrageous, but the benefits and side-possibilities are just too good to pass on.
@@LindaC616 the salaries about 250k, not sure what’s confusing you, it’s all public record, but I was referring to the bribes he is taking.
@@LindaC616Harlan Crow has showered Clarence with millions.
@@frizzlethecat2084 yes, to John's point
They make each other so giddy, the John Oliver episodes are my favorite! :D
“The most dinners I have in a night.” 😂😂😂
I love Last Week Tonight soooo much Oliver has such a good blend between comedy and information that makes you sad but you need to know
John and Seth are a couple of nerds and they happen to be humorous. Great vibe between them .
Success to you gents, perpetually.
They're so good together, this video was amazingly hilarious
I adore how bouncy JO gets when filled with glee! 🥰
Watching John crack up cracks me up more than anything....
I love when he slaps his thigh or his desk when he laughs. 😀
It’s watching two friends hang out and have fun together and I love it.
"Johnny loves banana tux" is an interesting interpretation for the closed captions.
Their bromance is getting stronger every day, and it’s resulting in better and better comedy!
John and Seth are keeping me sane ❤
My favorite clip of John Oliver ever. Loved their banter and his lightheartedness even with the dark issue discussed.
All the appropriate words to describe Thomas aren't allowed to be typed here.
Florida will start using Uncle Clarence Thomas as a prime example of a black man benefitting from being owned by rich white men.
Love when you guys get together! So much fun!
Two best show hosts😊
Seth & John bring an instant smile to my face!
These two keep me sane lately.
Seth knows John's triggers sooooo well! I love John for his understated outrageousness.
John would by no means be the biggest star or any red carpet, but likely the most loved
Thanks for sharing the older shows, John Oliver💕
John crying laughing why trying to speak is pretty funny
The fact that Clarence Thomas was offered a million dollars a year to step down and didn't take it, says a lot of how much money he's actually getting from these groups.
"You love museums where everything was given as gifts" was an insane burn 🔥😂
I'm so happy that I exist in the same timeline as Seth and John Oliver.
I love Seth just breaking John with this talk. That is the sign of friendship not just guest on the show.
By any chance is there any footage of the two doing standup together? I'd really wanna watch that.
I haven't searched to see if that new year's show pops up
When I saw John in Philly they said no recording so I doubt it.
Sit-down is fine too.
Seth is actually JUST talking to John in the final half. The audience doesn't seem to get half of it but John is DYING. Brilliant.
I have no idea what they were on about (I mean, I know the Met Gala but...).
But damn it, I enjoyed them having a time of it.
Oh I would love to see John Oliver at the Met Gala😂
Interviewing the clueless on the red carpet, subtly exposing them the way Klepper does?
Watching and laughing with this with my breakfast added the BEST tone for my morning meetings! Tysm
Clarence is turning down double+ his salary. Tells us he's grifting a LOT more than we know and living well beyond those means already
My two favorite late night folks.
I was going to ask where the hardball question of "Why do you only do like one show a month whilst some people do four or five shows a week?" was, but you handled it brilliantly Seth. Per the meal...answered like a true journalist. Thanks.
JO is on once a week, with the usual time off for vacation days. His show takes a lot more serious research than the regular late-night comedy shows. And a lot more legal consultation.
@chezmoi42 one day for research and script, four days for legal to go through and make sure HBO isn't going to get sued.
@@pettespizzaparlor3245 Yeah, but don't forget also the ones that need travel, mascots, costumes, music, special effects, and more? Seth's been talking for a year or more about plans for his fabulous musical,
🎵Cicada, Cicada,🎶 but so far, nada, zilch.
@chezmoi42 that's why we keep showing up. Hope springs eternal. Like the Cicada, Cicada. One day this too will crawl out of the courtyard of 30 Rock to give us The Best musical that we don't deserve
