  • More than half of American adults say their mental health has suffered because of the pandemic, which is aggravating mental illness among those who already suffer from it, and taking a toll on the rest of us, too. Correspondent Susan Spencer talks with mental health practitioners, and with people suffering from OCD, about facing a mental health epidemic, and the anxiety we are all feeling.

A big issue is that even if you HAVE insurance, it's like pulling teeth to get them to treat you. This has to stop. Kaiser in California has been fined $millions for failing to treat their paying patients. Mental health will only get attention when we pressure our representatives to make it happen.

The mental health care institutions were shut down during the Reagan years. Republicans have never wanted to take care of anyone struggling in life but do backflips to abolish a woman’s right to an abortion. Protect the unborn till they’re born, then let them die of neglect by a heartless country of grifters. The level of hypocrisy from these Pharisees is astounding!

The pandemic was traumatizing for my family. My mom's parents died one day apart from covid in March 2020 and my mom got so sick from it as well. She was on oxygen for two months after she recovered. She still suffers from long covid three years later. She's on multiple inhalers and has a lot of trouble talking and breathing and her memory took a hit as well. I'm really worried that when she gets older an effect of long covid will be dementia.

The fact that the stigma around the talks of mental health today is still a sensitive subject means that it needs to be addressed more frequently and be addressed the RIGHT WAY!
People keep saying they will do something about it but all they do is the BARE MINIMUM!
The fact that mental health is a subject that is often talked down and pushed under the rug is downright insane and needs to be talked about more.
People don't just "get over " a mental illness, people who struggle with mental disorders don't need to have people tell them they're fine, they need to get with a program that will ACTUALLY help them feel better and get to a much better place mentally, and if they aren't strong enough to seek out help, ask them how they're doing and how they're feeling and help them, support them. I understand some people won't want help because they're afraid and uncomfortable.
If someone is going through a tough time, don't be afraid to reach out to them, talk to them, be supportive and understanding.
And you wonder why people these days act surprised when someone commits suicide, you downplayed their mental illness which then caused them to get worse and they didn't get the help they desperately needed.
    This is beyond ridiculous.

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up.”-PROVERBS 12:25.
Meaning: Kind, compassionate words from others can lift your spirits.Talk things over with an understanding person. A confidant may help you to see things differently or even to see a solution you overlooked. And just unburdening yourself can make you feel better.Ask for help. Can you delegate a task or share the workload? If a work associate stresses you, look for ways to improve the situation. For example, could you kindly and tactfully tell the person how he or she makes you feel? (Proverbs 17:27)

Valerie Andrews has that old school way of talking Americans used to have in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and some degree 80s. It is so distinguished and refined way of pronouncing things. Very deliberate, composed, and thought out. Nowadays it is either screechy tone, loud, exaggerated base( guys who pretend to be cool for school) , valley girl talk, and absolute verbal diarrhea.

You had better hope when you need help that anyone will want to take your insurance or care for you at all, with that attitude.

this whole thing has been blown out of proportion since this summer.....its not that bad if you do the math and think about it....thinking it is about control and it is bad idea to wear masks. They are for sick and those possibly at risk. Smokers should not have to as they are compromised from the act. blood types matter. the sick should stay home regardless and schools should be open.....
