Here me out: Usain Bolt. He will stand the test of time because it is an exact measurement that can't be argued. Sprinting is a fundamental part of athletics, and he is the best at it. Or you could argue that is Kevin Mayer, the best decathlon athlete of all time. Decathlons include all the different fundamentals for being an athlete into one event, and he is the best at it, so he could be argued as the best athlete of all time.

Messi has done that, and it’s only stupid Ronaldo fans that think it’s a debate. Messi has 8 ballon dors to Ronaldo’s 5, Messi has won the World Cup and Copa america. And the goat debate in basketball is genuinely well debatable but for football / soccer, the debate exists yes but its not really close its just a media and marketing thing that puts ronaldo in the debate, because in reality anyone who actually knows anything about football knows its not really supposed to be a debate and messi is better. yeah i mean gretzky can be the greatest he said that but its not enough of a conclusion for most people to be satisfied because, not to offend you or anything, Gretzky is not that famous and most people who watch this video wont be satisfied with its conclusion, if he goes on talking about gretzkys stats and accomplishments he wont really get as much watch time because the audience will get bored and the feedback and engagement wont be as good.
