Im going to have to go through all your vlogs, listen to your stories that will bring back so many happy memories of my days in the corps. Hms Pembroke and my 28 days in Pompy DQs. many many more and those WRENS but thats another story for another day. you have just put a masive smile on my face.
My thoughts as well & add a short piece of clear tube to the end of the copper syphon tube so the oil does not flick everywhere. Old towels / T shirts are much better to "keep next to you" to clean with as paper towel will leave particles, plus the clean much better. Put the lid back onto the can of old oil as sure as night follows day ? On your filter simply lift the canister up into its position with one hand and use the other to locate & spin up the bolt, you cannot see where to put the bolt so no point trying to look. Would a basic mineral oil from Asda / Tesco brand at around £12 for five litres not do an old oil burner like this ?

Thanks guys. Need to get the Brasso out 😀

Great video just a little tip if you use a plastic bag when removing the oil filter will save it going everywhere , :)

Love those engines. Don't fill the oil right up to the upper level. Oil expands when it is hot. Leave a little room for expansion.
