Over the years I've been pondering taking the plunge in buying a narrow boat but stuff like this just puts me off. Glad this is the first and only time you came across this issue. What's wrong with these people and in the middle of nowhere!
When we hired a boat north oxford a man started shouted at my wife, it made her feel very unwell. It’s good to see your still smiling 👍🏻

I'm going to be frank. Things that don't go over well are a) talking over each other, b) telling your partner off on camera unless it's said jokingly and c) spending nearly half the time on a depressing event. I really enjoy narrowboat vlogs and will continue to give yours a go a bit more before I subscribe.

You just have to be careful. Narrowboat Gent was beat up for no reason outside of a pub. The Foxes Afloat caught a man on the end of their. So, best to be alert and best not to go out alone and have Jonathan stand on the back watching you while you're walking the girls. That's the way life is today. Absolutely agree Jane, as we said never had a problem before in almost 3 years.
Hopefully you have contacted the police about this..so they are aware of this problem and hopefully will keep a look out to stop this happening again
I've stumbled upon your channel today due to a recent obsession with narrowboat vlogs ,im not sure of the connection to the military wives film but I wanted to say I loved it and watched it twice at the cinema 😍

I do appreciate where he was coming from, though his level of aggression was certainly unwarranted. I love walking in the dark, and hate sudden lights. I like my night vision.

You could have said "No I don't own the towpath, but I pay to maintain it, how about you"?
WHAT A HORIBLE BAD MANERED BULLY PICKING ON WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS A WOMAN ON HER OWN. YOU HANDLED THE SITUATION VERY WELL AND KEPT YOUR COOL, WHEN THE TEMPTATION WOULD PROBABLY BE TO RESORT TO VIOLENCE. I HOPE IT DID,NT SPOIL YOUR ENJOYMENT OF CANAL LIFE.

Sounds like both that pub and ABSOLUTELY misplaced 'Issues' that guy took out on you was Scary AF! He threatened to throw you in the canal... I am thinking he is one sad, miserable and cold life...

Thanks Christine, it can be a nightmare trying to do performances with the MWChoirs and getting the boat closer to an event or getting the car closer for me to use it. But it all works out in the end.
Bet he'd had a row with someone in the pub and decided to take it out on you. Idiot. If he makes a habit of walking along the towpath when drunk, shouldn't he be grateful to you for having a light on? Seems to me like it's only a matter of time before he falls in and we wouldn't want that would we?! 🤣😂
I often walk the towpath in the dark (sober) and prefer it. Lights are blinding and annoying. I have good night vision.
Sorry to hear about the drunk. I would have had a word with the landlord the next eve and made him aware that him serving drunks leads to abusive behaviour on the cut. He may know him or maybe not
care less but at least he is aware and it might make you feel better. Drunkenness is never an excuse to behave badly.

He maybe didn't want a light on cos he was up to no good and didn't want to be seen! Best ignored.
I did think a one point i'd gone back in time as i couldn't see anyone in the dark only a voice shouting "Put That Light Out!!'
