Hi Nancy! Thank you so much for the video! I am actually using Canva, creating my designs to sell on Etsy. I want to begin with a bunch of designs in my Etsy store. I wish to learn everything about selling printables on Etsy. Especially I ask you if you have a video about how to make on Canva a design that is like an excel table. Is it possible? Thank you so much!
Hi Nancy! Thank you so much for sharing! I am loving your videos. Quick question on sending the editable file. Are you saying that I need to crest a PDF that has the instructions and the the link already on the PDF and have that uploaded on the instant download? That way, when someone orders an editable digital download, I’m not having to email each customer individually, they will get the instant downloads and then get the PDF instant download with the instructions and link? I’ve also seen some Etsy shops that have 20-30 editable digital downloads for wedding signs. For this large amount how would you suggest going about it? Just create the link for each one, save them all on the PDF and email it in one instant download PDF? And all the editable downloads will need to be in a zip folder, right? Hope my questions make sense! Thanks for your help! God bless!
You are a Goddess! Thank you so much for your guidance. I was playing on Canva, which I use all the time for my other businesses, and noticed they now have the option to share the design as a template. So when the customer clicks the link it opens as a template, not a file! So Lovely!!!
Thank You so much. I have been looking for this option since I started making digital products. Hats off to you because I have asked other creators and either they don't know what to do or they don't want to share their secrets!
I'm so happy I found you! I had no idea you could sell all of these on Etsy! I've been leaving money on the table... I'm starting today with this project, thanks so much!!!
Thanks for such great info, Nancy! We really appreciate this! I have a couple of questions... 1) Do you send the same share link to everyone who purchases? 2) If you every purchaser gets the same share link, won't the image look different every time someone accesses it? (changes from the last person) 3) The images downloaded from Canva (free version, anyway) have a resolution of only 96 DPI. Isn't 300 DPI the desired resolution for printing? So won't printing at 96 DPI be lower quality?
Thank you Nancy for this video and clear explanation on creating, downloading, and how to share the digital Editables using Canva. Invaluable! Love your channel! 😁👍💜💰
Thank you sooooo much, you really answered my questions. One more tho... when selling an editable link on Etsy, does it send automatically from Etsy, or does the seller need to send the link to the customer? I'm so new at all of this. Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I'd like to see how such a file looks as an Etsy listing. I just purchased a digital file and it was in ZIP format and so easy to purchase and open from that Etsy shop. I didn't have to ask questions, read the seller's instructions, or get followup emails from seller. I just clicked on the file and it opened.
Hey Nance, I just found this video so I apologize for my “late” question. Now that you been using this awhile have you had any issues with buyers who want an editable but don’t know how to use Canva and have questions about editing? If so, how have you addressed their questions? Thanks!
Hi, thanks for this helpful video...I have a question...what if we want to lock certain elements in the design so that customer can’t edit them...how do we do that?
Do you need a new link for each buyer? Because once someone makes a change to the design will everyone else who buys it next/opens the link be able to see that change?
@@NancyBadillo Hey Nancy, I had the same question like Olivia and wanted to double check something. Let's say one client ignores the instruction to make a copy of the file before editing, will everyone else who buys/opens the link afterwards be able to see their change and not your original design as advertised on your Etsy listing? Thank you for making this tutorial and for replying to our questions!
Hi Nancy! I was wondering if I wanted to sell a printable image, won’t the customer already have access to the image when they view it for sale? I mean they can just right-click and “Save Image As..”. So how can I display my product without them taking it?
Yes, that is true! It's important to read the licensing first to determine what you can do with it or not. You can also Cava to create the design, save it as a JPG, upload the file again as an editable file and then make the editable files with it and the original clipart will not be able to get lifted from the file. I am going to do a video on this and great advice. Thank you.
Hi Nancy, I love your videos ... always something to learn. Hi Nancy! Thank you for sharing these awesome tips. For a very long time I was looking for a way to sell editable templates on Etsy. I have a question: So the buyer will get a direct link to Canva --> edit it. looks simple. - Canva is going to automatically save changes, and the next buyer, who will click the link, will open the file will see original file or edited by previous person?
HI Nancy! Thank you for this video. You always upload the most helpful content. I appreciate your time and all of your hard work. I was just wondering the other day how to make downloads that are editable. So this is right on time for me. 😁
Hi Nancy, thank you so much for the info. I am just curious, is there a way to share the link with them without having to do any work? So for example they just purchase it and it automatically sends an email with the link and pdf instructions?
Love this idea. Thanks for sharing. In the instructions, should they have to make a copy first so they aren't changing the original file? I just know when I have bought pinterest pin mockups, I've been told to make a copy before I change anything.
@@NancyBadillo Thanks a lot for the video! So..as our clients can change the file in case they forget to make a copy, how often do u suggest us to check if the file is still as the original? or do you manually send the link to each client? thanks Nancy 😍
Super video! Question: if it’s a pdf that has the link, which is what the customer is given when they purchase on Etsy, does that mean if they make changes then someone else who gets the link with their purchase sees those changes?
Hey Nancy - you've really inspired me to give this a go. But the problem I'm having with editable templates is the license - Creative Market have said to me (via email) that I cannot use any fonts in any template which the customer can edit themselves - even with a commercial licence :( How do I get round this please?
Hey. I love using Canva but my only concern is that if I can sell planner printables made using Canva even though it doesn't contain any elements or photos. Just shapes and texts. Would it be safe to sell those types of templates on etsy?
You have inspired me (in this and other videos) to learn Photoshop. Which course would you recommend? I imagine it’s not as straightforward as Canva, thank you! A x
Hey Alex! I absolutely recommend learning Photoshop. I don’t know if any course that I would recommend. I learned by myself it’s a learning curve but so worth it.
Hello Nancy ! thank you for your videos, it is really helpfull! I a have a question about creative market! what licence should i buy to use it on editable template. I mean if i take the commercial use, do i have the right to use it in a template I want to sell ? Thank you!
Thank you so much for the great video! While customers would not be able to 'edit' the clipart in the sense that they can’t change the colors. I assume customers would be able to resize and re-position the clipart? And most importantly, would they be able copy the clipart and use them for other projects? Thank you.
Unfortunately, you can't share files unless you have the paid version. It's only $12 a month and its worth it because you can do so many different things with Canva. Thank you for the question.
Thank you for this great informative video. I do have one question. When I share the Canva link, sell it to one person and sell it to a second person. Am I correct in saying that the first person that buys it you will see their changes?
Hey Donna! That’s a great question! If you share the link as a “template link” this way it doesn’t change the original design or mess up others design. You have to make sure to share this way so you don’t have any issues later. Does this help?
How do you price editable files on Etsy? what's a good range? how do we write disclosures that are attached as descriptions for the products we create? ex. you print, you receive digital download etc.
It really depends on the amount you spent making them. You can always see what your competitors are selling and choose a reasonable price. Also, for the listing description just make sure to include that they are not receiving a physical product through mail.
Thank you! I think I left this question on one of your videos 🤣 question so after every purchase - how does the next person get a fresh file so the previous buyer isn’t in their editing the file
If you have the Canva Pro version you can share the link with multiple people and it will not affect the other purchases. If you have the free Canva plan when you share a file the customer will need to make a copy before editing.
Nancy, I love your instructions, I have successfully done everything in this video, however when I open the pdf for the instructions and link and try to click on the link it does not open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kim
Hi Kim! Aww, thanks for the lovely feedback. You'll need to download the instructional guide and then click on the link and it should work. If you click on the link while working on the PDF it doesn't work. I hope this helps.
I appreciate your tutorial but I hoping you would demonstrate setting up the product on Etsy? I understand how to upload a PDF but not sure where to insert the link to Canva?
Hey! Thanks for watching. It will be my pleasure to help. You would need to create a PDF file that has the Canva link and add that your listing as an instant download.
Hi Nancy! Thank you very much for this video. I actually watched months ago but at the time I wasn't offering anything to be edited so I've come back today. The only thing I was wondering is if it's possible to only allow the client to touch the text for instance? I also noticed that then when the first client edits the template, then the link remains with those changes so when the next client clicks the link, it might already be a completely different product... Any thoughts and advise on that please? 🙈😅
This video will help me tremendously - great job. I have a question and I hope I can convey what I want to do. I want to create collage sheets with PNG's on them. So if I did a sheet say with 3 PNG butterflies on it - the buyer could use all of them or part of them in their project. Would the video above be a good option for this method?
Thank you for this information. Im looking forward to create my own digital business too. Are we allowed to use the free images and fonts in Canva, and sell digital templates in Etsy? I heard there are items not allowed for commercial use.
Thank you for this video, very helpful! Appreciate it so much! Question, can you save projects into a folder and then be able to edit that particular project again? I notice that when I save a page into a folder, I cannot edit that page again. How can I save projects into folders and then be able to still edit them? I have a "personalized" planner that I sell and every time it sells, I have to edit several pages in it, so I would like to sort of have templates of these pages saved in folders so that they are organized but yet I can go in and edit whatever I may need to when a planner sells. I don't want to save the whole planner in a folder because I sell it in two parts, so I want to be able to save ONLY certain pages in folders that I can later edit and personalize just these pages. Thank you so much in advance.
Hi Nancy! This was great!! Thank you sooooo much!! I created and added a few editable files using Canva, and I already sold one that I only added yesterday! I created them as digital products and attached a document with instructions and shared a template link within the document for each corresponding editable file so that they don't have to wait for me to send an email when they purchase. Was it okay to do it this way? I liked doing it this way because my original file doesn't get written over using a template, and I don't have to send an email, but not sure if it's safe to do it that way as I don't want to give away my files. Would it be the same end result as sharing the file link in that either way they could reuse it again once they purchase the template? I sent an email to Etsy a week ago asking what was the difference between sharing a file and sharing a template, but I only got 2 automated responses, which I guess is understandable in light of our current world crisis situation. Thanks for all your help! You are an inspiration and I will definitely keep viewing your videos! Blessings...
Hey Nancy. Can you remind me where you have the video where you explain how to make live links for Product Types and Collections? Ie the A1 or B1 etc and how make the link where you sort products by their type and make the link. I need a refresher.
And... you mention saving an extra copy for yourself. If I don't have a ProCanva account would I just "make a copy" from the "all your designs", from the three dot drop down? Thanks!
good explained but still there is more confussion while if some one edit through the link then design has changed in my canva file also. could you please explain more.
By following the method demonstrated in the video and sharing the file accordingly, the customer will receive a non-editable original link, ensuring that the original file remains secure and unalterable.
hey thank you for the video! i just want to confirm that but doing this and giving the customer the link, the customer will have access to all my files and everything i have uploaded?

- Canva is going to automatically save changes, and the next buyer, who will click the link, will open the file will see original file or edited by previous person?
Hey! Yes that is correct. You will want the customer to make a copy of the file before editing that would be the workaround.
@@NancyBadillo Thank you! I was wondering this exact thing c:
HI Nancy! Thank you for this video. You always upload the most helpful content. I appreciate your time and all of your hard work. I was just wondering the other day how to make downloads that are editable. So this is right on time for me. 😁
Hey Nora! Awesome to hear! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! :)
great video, how to sell a Folder of temples? like if I want to sell 50 images and how they will get it
Hi Nancy, thank you so much for the info. I am just curious, is there a way to share the link with them without having to do any work? So for example they just purchase it and it automatically sends an email with the link and pdf instructions?
Thank u nancy, thats great video
Thanks, Andrew! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Love this idea. Thanks for sharing. In the instructions, should they have to make a copy first so they aren't changing the original file? I just know when I have bought pinterest pin mockups, I've been told to make a copy before I change anything.
Yes, that is so true! Thank you
@@NancyBadillo Thanks a lot for the video!
Yes that is true. Make sure to add instructions that they need to make a copy before editing. This would solve the issue.
Hey Nancy - you've really inspired me to give this a go. But the problem I'm having with editable templates is the license - Creative Market have said to me (via email) that I cannot use any fonts in any template which the customer can edit themselves - even with a commercial licence :( How do I get round this please?
The go around is creating editable templates with Templette or Coraj. :)
@@NancyBadillo That's brilliant! Thank you! :)
Hey. I love using Canva but my only concern is that if I can sell planner printables made using Canva even though it doesn't contain any elements or photos. Just shapes and texts. Would it be safe to sell those types of templates on etsy?
Thanks so much for the great video. Do you have a recommandation for a Canva template for the informational PDF? Thanks!
If you want to provide the customer instructions you can do it with word and then save it as a PDF.
Thank you. I have not logged into my course yet. In order for anything to edited on Canva, it needs to be on Canva Pro?
I just learned lately you don’t need a Canva Prom account to be able to edit. 🙌
What did you say the clip art was from? Also what kind of license should I be looking for in order to sell a templete online just like you do?
Hey Natalie, is from Creative Market and I buy commercial license.
Hello been following your RUclips videos. Just wondering how you can make sure that you have the 300 dpi required for high resolution print?
Thanks
I recommend printing it only in PDF to provide the best quality.
Thank you!
Hi, where do paste the link for the customer.. on the ad or after purchase.. I'm completely lost on that part please explain thank you.
You would only provide the link after they purchase.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
It’s my pleasure! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you so much for the great video! While customers would not be able to 'edit' the clipart in the sense that they can’t change the colors. I assume customers would be able to resize and re-position the clipart? And most importantly, would they be able copy the clipart and use them for other projects? Thank you.
If you locked in place they will not be able to resize or move around.
thankyou for your video :) does the customer have to have a pro account to access and edit the file?
Hey! No the customer doesn’t need the Canva pro to edit.
Thank you, Nancy. What if I don't have the professional version of Canva?
Unfortunately, you can't share files unless you have the paid version. It's only $12 a month and its worth it because you can do so many different things with Canva. Thank you for the question.
Thank you for this great informative video. I do have one question. When I share the Canva link, sell it to one person and sell it to a second person. Am I correct in saying that the first person that buys it you will see their changes?
Hey Donna! That’s a great question! If you share the link as a “template link” this way it doesn’t change the original design or mess up others design. You have to make sure to share this way so you don’t have any issues later. Does this help?
Can you do this with the free version of Canva or do you need to upgrade to Premium?
Hey Veronica, You will need the paid version. Thank you for taking the time to leave me feedback. I really appreciate it.
Do you have to make a copy of the file for every new customer? Thanks in advance!
Hey! No, the same link.
@@NancyBadillo got it. Thank you!
@@NancyBadillo thank you so much!
Hey Sofia! Yes, you can. You would need to lock the image and therefore they can only edit the text. :)
This helped me tremendously! Thank you
You're so welcome! Thank you so much for the feedback!
Hi, so for all digital downloads do you choose the 8 x 10 option? I'm so confused
Hi there! It's up to you. You can offer 8x10 only all multiple sizes. What do you sell?
Thank You!
You’re so welcome! 🙌
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your vids they are great. I have 1 question, what is the difference between a "Visit" and a "View"? Thanks!
Hey! Essentially "Views" represent the raw traffic to your shop, while "Visits" represent what Etsy determines to be "real" users.
Lisa Young Hello! Are you using Canva to make digital products?
@@pureislander5691 Hello, Yes I use Canva
Lisa Young great! Thankyou so much for your reply! So can we sell digital products made using Canva on Etsy?
@@pureislander5691 Yes! Just as Nancy describes! She is great! Watch some of her videos!
Lisa Young great! I would! Should we pay Canva for any of that?
Hey Nancy. Can you remind me where you have the video where you explain how to make live links for Product Types and Collections? Ie the A1 or B1 etc and how make the link where you sort products by their type and make the link. I need a refresher.
Hey Pat, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/Iz55C4KJdss/видео.html :)
And... you mention saving an extra copy for yourself. If I don't have a ProCanva account would I just "make a copy" from the "all your designs", from the three dot drop down? Thanks!
Unfortunately you need the pro version to be able to save a copy or share copies.
good explained but still there is more confussion while if some one edit through the link then design has changed in my canva file also. could you please explain more.
Hey Alicia, I would make a copy of the file and then tell each customer to make a copy of the file before editing.
