Hi Nancy! Thank you so much for the video! I am actually using Canva, creating my designs to sell on Etsy. I want to begin with a bunch of designs in my Etsy store. I wish to learn everything about selling printables on Etsy. Especially I ask you if you have a video about how to make on Canva a design that is like an excel table. Is it possible? Thank you so much!
Hi Nancy! Thank you so much for sharing! I am loving your videos. Quick question on sending the editable file. Are you saying that I need to crest a PDF that has the instructions and the the link already on the PDF and have that uploaded on the instant download? That way, when someone orders an editable digital download, I’m not having to email each customer individually, they will get the instant downloads and then get the PDF instant download with the instructions and link? I’ve also seen some Etsy shops that have 20-30 editable digital downloads for wedding signs. For this large amount how would you suggest going about it? Just create the link for each one, save them all on the PDF and email it in one instant download PDF? And all the editable downloads will need to be in a zip folder, right? Hope my questions make sense! Thanks for your help! God bless!
Thank You so much. I have been looking for this option since I started making digital products. Hats off to you because I have asked other creators and either they don't know what to do or they don't want to share their secrets!
You are a Goddess! Thank you so much for your guidance. I was playing on Canva, which I use all the time for my other businesses, and noticed they now have the option to share the design as a template. So when the customer clicks the link it opens as a template, not a file! So Lovely!!!
I'm so happy I found you! I had no idea you could sell all of these on Etsy! I've been leaving money on the table... I'm starting today with this project, thanks so much!!!
Thank you sooooo much, you really answered my questions. One more tho... when selling an editable link on Etsy, does it send automatically from Etsy, or does the seller need to send the link to the customer? I'm so new at all of this. Thank you!
Thanks for such great info, Nancy! We really appreciate this! I have a couple of questions... 1) Do you send the same share link to everyone who purchases? 2) If you every purchaser gets the same share link, won't the image look different every time someone accesses it? (changes from the last person) 3) The images downloaded from Canva (free version, anyway) have a resolution of only 96 DPI. Isn't 300 DPI the desired resolution for printing? So won't printing at 96 DPI be lower quality?
Hi, thanks for this helpful video...I have a question...what if we want to lock certain elements in the design so that customer can’t edit them...how do we do that?
Hi Nancy! I was wondering if I wanted to sell a printable image, won’t the customer already have access to the image when they view it for sale? I mean they can just right-click and “Save Image As..”. So how can I display my product without them taking it?
Thank you Nancy for this video and clear explanation on creating, downloading, and how to share the digital Editables using Canva. Invaluable! Love your channel! 😁👍💜💰
Hi Nancy, I love your videos ... always something to learn. At the beginning of this tutorial you explain that the customer will buy the file, then they will instantly get a link (I imagine from Etsy) Then if they copy paste the link into their browser it will open up Canva for them to do their editing? I have a customer who says she needs help with the editing. I have uploaded the file she purchased, to my Canva account and tried to edit it myself and can not do any editing. I am only able to add text or elements.
Hi Renee! She should be able to edit with no problem. The only thing I can think of is that she doesn’t have Canva account. She would need to create the free account to use. Let me know if this helps!
@@NancyBadillo Thanks Nancy, I was thinking I would need to change all listings.. so I watched this video again and then managed to "share" the file. How do you format a file like this to be ready for edible image printing of different size cakes such as 1/4 sheet cakes, round cakes, cupcakes, even cookies? Is there anything specific that we need to know before the file is taken to a bakery?
Hi Isabel, since these are editable files you can’t save the file. Just make sure to name each file with the size this will be easier for the customer to know what size to print once they are done editing.
Hey Nance, I just found this video so I apologize for my “late” question. Now that you been using this awhile have you had any issues with buyers who want an editable but don’t know how to use Canva and have questions about editing? If so, how have you addressed their questions? Thanks!

@nancybadillo when I share something as a template from Canva, can they edit anything on it? And if I put a lock on some of the graphics, does it stay there for whoever I share it with?
How do you price editable files on Etsy? what's a good range? how do we write disclosures that are attached as descriptions for the products we create? ex. you print, you receive digital download etc.
It really depends on the amount you spent making them. You can always see what your competitors are selling and choose a reasonable price. Also, for the listing description just make sure to include that they are not receiving a physical product through mail.

good explained but still there is more confussion while if some one edit through the link then design has changed in my canva file also. could you please explain more.
By following the method demonstrated in the video and sharing the file accordingly, the customer will receive a non-editable original link, ensuring that the original file remains secure and unalterable.
Typically, when you use Canva's built-in fonts and clipart for personal or commercial purposes within the Canva platform, you don't need a separate license. However, it's important to review Canva's terms of use and licensing agreements to ensure compliance with their policies.
And... you mention saving an extra copy for yourself. If I don't have a ProCanva account would I just "make a copy" from the "all your designs", from the three dot drop down? Thanks!
Love this idea. Thanks for sharing. In the instructions, should they have to make a copy first so they aren't changing the original file? I just know when I have bought pinterest pin mockups, I've been told to make a copy before I change anything.
@@NancyBadillo Thanks a lot for the video! So..as our clients can change the file in case they forget to make a copy, how often do u suggest us to check if the file is still as the original? or do you manually send the link to each client? thanks Nancy 😍
I appreciate your tutorial but I hoping you would demonstrate setting up the product on Etsy? I understand how to upload a PDF but not sure where to insert the link to Canva?
Hey! Thanks for watching. It will be my pleasure to help. You would need to create a PDF file that has the Canva link and add that your listing as an instant download.
Hi :) Hope it’s not too late to ask a question. If the clipart bought from Creative Market be used in more than 1 design and sold it to different buyers (different design, different everything except for the clipart) curious if would that have an issue like in terms of licensing?
Que sucede cuando vendes el mismo producto editable a varias personas? Acceden todas al mismo enlace y por lo tanto al mismo documento o hay que crear una copia distinta para cada venta? Gracias.
Hello! Do you know if you have the commercial license for elements and designs from designbundles if you can use them for editable templates to sell on etsy and edit though canva?
Hey Brittney! That’s a great question! I don’t believe they offer it. I do know creative fabrica does offer it but you would need to reach out to the customer service team since they do charge more to use them as editable files.
Hi Nancy! Thank you for sharing these awesome tips. For a very long time I was looking for a way to sell editable templates on Etsy. I have a question: So the buyer will get a direct link to Canva --> edit it. looks simple. - Canva is going to automatically save changes, and the next buyer, who will click the link, will open the file will see original file or edited by previous person?
Thank you so much for the great video! While customers would not be able to 'edit' the clipart in the sense that they can’t change the colors. I assume customers would be able to resize and re-position the clipart? And most importantly, would they be able copy the clipart and use them for other projects? Thank you.
Nancy, I love your instructions, I have successfully done everything in this video, however when I open the pdf for the instructions and link and try to click on the link it does not open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kim
Hi Kim! Aww, thanks for the lovely feedback. You'll need to download the instructional guide and then click on the link and it should work. If you click on the link while working on the PDF it doesn't work. I hope this helps.
@@PaigeTJ Here are the steps: Create or open an existing design. Click the element you want to lock. You can also hold Shift on your keyboard, and click on multiple elements to select them. Click the padlock icon on the editor toolbar. If you don’t see it, click on ••• first. To unlock, click the locked elements, and then on the padlock icon from the editor toolbar.
Hi Nancy, thank you so much for the info. I am just curious, is there a way to share the link with them without having to do any work? So for example they just purchase it and it automatically sends an email with the link and pdf instructions?
Thank you for your videos! They are very informative. I have a question about creative market. I want to sell editable invitation templates on etsy. Which license is best to use for clipart for editable templates. I looked on creative market and noticed under their license terms for commercial license. ( 5. PROHIBITED USES 5.1 On demand applications. Any use that allows anyone other than the Licensee, such as an end user, to customize a digital or physical end product is prohibited whether for commercial or non-commercial). So does this mean we cannot use creative market clip art for editable templates. I hope you can answer this for me or point me to the right direction. Thank you so much!
Hi Areli - unfortunately Creative Market doesn’t allow you to use their licensing for templates. You can from Creative Fabrica if you reach out to them they will sell you a special licensing but it can be costly.
You’re right, it doesn’t auto generate. You can add the link to a PDF so people can access the files automatically. Its so much easier than having to email someone after a sale.
Hi Nancy! Thank you very much for this video. I actually watched months ago but at the time I wasn't offering anything to be edited so I've come back today. The only thing I was wondering is if it's possible to only allow the client to touch the text for instance? I also noticed that then when the first client edits the template, then the link remains with those changes so when the next client clicks the link, it might already be a completely different product... Any thoughts and advise on that please? 🙈😅
Hey Nancy. Can you remind me where you have the video where you explain how to make live links for Product Types and Collections? Ie the A1 or B1 etc and how make the link where you sort products by their type and make the link. I need a refresher.
Super video! Question: if it’s a pdf that has the link, which is what the customer is given when they purchase on Etsy, does that mean if they make changes then someone else who gets the link with their purchase sees those changes?
This video will help me tremendously - great job. I have a question and I hope I can convey what I want to do. I want to create collage sheets with PNG's on them. So if I did a sheet say with 3 PNG butterflies on it - the buyer could use all of them or part of them in their project. Would the video above be a good option for this method?
Hey there! Absolutely, I can help you with creating a comp card template that people can edit. To create an editable comp card template, you can use design software like Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools. Here's a general process you can follow: 1. Start with a blank canvas: Set the dimensions for your comp card template. Typically, a standard comp card size is 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches, but you can adjust it based on your preferences. 2. Design the layout: Create a visually appealing and balanced layout for your comp card. Include sections for the model's name, contact information, headshot, body shot, measurements, and any additional relevant details. Make sure to leave enough space for users to add their own content. 3. Use editable text fields: In your design software, create editable text fields for the model's name, contact information, and other text elements. This will allow users to easily insert their own information into the template. 4. Incorporate image placeholders: Add image placeholders for the headshot and body shot sections. Users can then replace these placeholders with their own photos while maintaining the layout and proportions. 5. Export as a template: Once you're satisfied with your design, save the file as a template format (such as .PSD or .AI) and provide instructions on how users can edit the text fields and replace the image placeholders. Remember to include any guidelines or recommendations for fonts, colors, and image sizes to maintain a consistent and professional look. I hope this helps! Best regards, Nancy

good explained but still there is more confussion while if some one edit through the link then design has changed in my canva file also. could you please explain more.
By following the method demonstrated in the video and sharing the file accordingly, the customer will receive a non-editable original link, ensuring that the original file remains secure and unalterable.
thankyou for your video :) does the customer have to have a pro account to access and edit the file?
Hey! No the customer doesn’t need the Canva pro to edit.
Do you need a license to use the fonts and clipart that is already on Can a?
Typically, when you use Canva's built-in fonts and clipart for personal or commercial purposes within the Canva platform, you don't need a separate license. However, it's important to review Canva's terms of use and licensing agreements to ensure compliance with their policies.
And... you mention saving an extra copy for yourself. If I don't have a ProCanva account would I just "make a copy" from the "all your designs", from the three dot drop down? Thanks!
Unfortunately you need the pro version to be able to save a copy or share copies.
Thanks Nancy for sharing!
Thank you!
Love this idea. Thanks for sharing. In the instructions, should they have to make a copy first so they aren't changing the original file? I just know when I have bought pinterest pin mockups, I've been told to make a copy before I change anything.
Yes, that is so true! Thank you
@@NancyBadillo Thanks a lot for the video! So..as our clients can change the file in case they forget to make a copy, how often do u suggest us to check if the file is still as the original? or do you manually send the link to each client? thanks Nancy 😍
Thank you so much. I appreciate this!
My pleasure! ❤️
Great info yes yes more more thank you
Awesome! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi :) Hope it’s not too late to ask a question. If the clipart bought from Creative Market be used in more than 1 design and sold it to different buyers (different design, different everything except for the clipart) curious if would that have an issue like in terms of licensing?
It depends on the license term you purchased. It tells how many you can sell. Read the terms of use and follow that. 😊
@@NancyBadillo Thank you :)
Super useful. Thank you
You’re so welcome! 😊
Awesome info! Thanks so much!
You’re so welcome!
Hello, thanks for your video. Is you add any font is that legal? Are all the fonts available on Canva open source? Thank yoU!
Hey Selina, Some fonts you can use for commercial and some for personal. You have to read the terms of use.
What was the sharing option before downloading the link
Sure, it would be my pleasure to help. You want to share as "template link."
Is this also editable to ipad and use it for goodnotes app ?
Hey Ninie, The file is editable to use on IPad but is not compatible with Goodnotes.
@@NancyBadillo I see, thank you!
This is a great tutorial, Nancy! Thank you so much
Hey Elsa, You're so welcome!
how do you give the clip art creators credit?
Great question! Since you’re buying the license to use in your own designs credits are not something you need to do. Does this answer your question?
Thank you for translate this video to Spanish 🙏
You're so welcome!
Hey! Yes that is correct. You will want the customer to make a copy of the file before editing that would be the workaround.
@@NancyBadillo Thank you! I was wondering this exact thing c:
Thank you so much for the great video! While customers would not be able to 'edit' the clipart in the sense that they can’t change the colors. I assume customers would be able to resize and re-position the clipart? And most importantly, would they be able copy the clipart and use them for other projects? Thank you.
If you locked in place they will not be able to resize or move around.
I have a question..If we use canva Pro images in the template, buyes also have to buy pro version to download the file without watermarks right?
What did you say the clip art was from? Also what kind of license should I be looking for in order to sell a templete online just like you do?
Hey Natalie, is from Creative Market and I buy commercial license.
Where did you get the flowers clip art?
Aren’t they beautiful! I got them from Creative Market
Is the customer also able to add and remove text this way as well?
when you create another file in your folder and share with your customer, will the customer see your click art and such?
Hey! Great question. They will see only what you shared.
@@NancyBadillo thank you so much!
how do you lock the clip art?
What program are you using?
@@NancyBadillo canva
@@PaigeTJ Here are the steps: Create or open an existing design.
Click the element you want to lock. You can also hold Shift on your keyboard, and click on multiple elements to select them.
Click the padlock icon on the editor toolbar. If you don’t see it, click on ••• first.
To unlock, click the locked elements, and then on the padlock icon from the editor toolbar.
@@NancyBadillo Thanks so much so if it's locked they can't change the file ?
Are all of the cliparts available in Creative Market can be used in Canva?
Do you Email the PDF Instruction Link page to the buyer?
I just attached as one of the downloads on Etsy. 👍
I am confused after purchasing we have to send the link to them manually it doesn’t auto generate correct?
You’re right, it doesn’t auto generate. You can add the link to a PDF so people can access the files automatically. Its so much easier than having to email someone after a sale.
Hi, I have created a Tarot cards deck on Canva. How do I upload it on Etsy? What kind of file?
Are these digital products?
A PNG file is best
Hey Sofia! Yes, you can. You would need to lock the image and therefore they can only edit the text. :)
Hi, where do paste the link for the customer.. on the ad or after purchase.. I'm completely lost on that part please explain thank you.
You would only provide the link after they purchase.
Hey Nancy. Can you remind me where you have the video where you explain how to make live links for Product Types and Collections? Ie the A1 or B1 etc and how make the link where you sort products by their type and make the link. I need a refresher.
Hey Pat, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/Iz55C4KJdss/видео.html :)
Thank you so much for sharing.
It's awesome right.
Super video! Question: if it’s a pdf that has the link, which is what the customer is given when they purchase on Etsy, does that mean if they make changes then someone else who gets the link with their purchase sees those changes?
Yes that is true. Make sure to add instructions that they need to make a copy before editing. This would solve the issue.
This video will help me tremendously - great job. I have a question and I hope I can convey what I want to do. I want to create collage sheets with PNG's on them. So if I did a sheet say with 3 PNG butterflies on it - the buyer could use all of them or part of them in their project. Would the video above be a good option for this method?
hey girl do you know how to make a comp card template that people can edit???
Hey there!
Absolutely, I can help you with creating a comp card template that people can edit.
To create an editable comp card template, you can use design software like Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools. Here's a general process you can follow:
Best regards,
Nancy
