- Great moments from the day Harold Bishop returned to Ramsay Street several years after going missing.
Includes:
Harold's visit to Number 26
Helen's plan to get Harold and Madge together
Madge's return
Harold and Madge's reunion in the Coffee Shop.
I was a child and I remember being so invested in this storyline and how excited I was for Harold's return lol as much as this show was targeted primarily are young people, it was the older characters who made it. I loved their storylines more than the 'teen' storylines.

Spot on. Madge was the best Neighbours character of all time. Along with Harold, Jim, Helen. Scott and Charlene were very over rated.
The moment when Helen claps eyes on him is brilliant. What a great actress Anne Haddy was.
lol, yeah...
I was 11 when this aired and remember being so happy Harold was coming back I remember Madge finding his glasses on the rocks when he disappeared, never realised neighbours was such a big part of my childhood
I watched Neighbours in the UK from about 1989 -1996. Harold returning is one of the last storylines I remember.
I absolutely loved neighbours back in this day. ❤
Thanks for the messages, everyone. I do apologise for the bad quality, but I'm not very au fait with video codec or whatever video extraction there is out there.
I do have a couple other episodes from around this era, but they're already on RUclips.
This made me so happy thank you!
you don't need to apologise you took the time to upload it and opened a door to the past for some people giving them some much needed nostalgia in these austere times that is a wonderful gift to give people thank you
Can't believe he was gone for 5 years! Remember him going and coming back and always wondering what happened to him. Think the thing blowing my mind is how long that means I watched it for and how invested I was!
love the way his sneeze is how lou recognizes him lol
I remember watching this as a 10 year old and my mother bursting out in tears when she saw him.
I remember how excited and mesmerised I was by this whole storyline as an 11/12 year old boy lol I couldn't believe they were bringing a dead character back. The last episode I ever watched of Neighbours was when the Martin's moved out and Holly Vallance's family passed them in their truck as they entered Ramsay street. I knew it was the end of an era and the end of the show that I grew up watching and loving and, apparently, I was right. They really don't make 'em like this anymore!
@Andrew Ward ...and now Dee too :-D
@Andrew Ward yeah but they should bring Helen Daniels and Cheryl Stark back like the old days.
@@Irishgui83 they'll have a job with Mrs Daniels. Been dead for over twenty years. (In real life)
Totally agree. This was the Golden era ( the good era). It had something special here.

Thanks for uploading the video. Happy days back then :-(
Omg I don't believe it! It's Harold Bishop! He's back! I remember watching this episode and me saying that and shouting to my mum the same thing we were both gobsmacked and couldn't believe it we were shocked in a good way and watched this episode open mouthed some of the time we just couldn't get over he was back and couldn't believe that he was there it was really him we couldn't believe he was back we thought it was a joke lol welcome back Harold we said your back home again after 5 years we just couldn't get over he was back how wonderful! We said that as well
Good god this takes me back. I remember watching this before I was even in school with Scott and Charlene.
Then around this time it was byker grove or Grange Hill 17.10 and neighbours 17.38 to 17.58 followed by the 6 o clock news on bbc1.
Yes I remember this too.I cried when Harold went missing as I thought he'd drowned.I was so glad he returned and eventually remembered who he really was.And I like you watched it on BBC 1 at that time too.
Neighbours was 5:37 to 5:57 😂
@@oldpainless316 I think you might be right but with no adverts on bbc what happened for three minutes?
@@kopthelotklopp1523 good question think it finished then the credits took it to late 58 minutes then this sort of stuff after it.

It was so weird seeing Wayne Hamilton from sons and daughters ...i never got used to him being called 'Philip' lol
+Mark Layton I'm the same. I'm a prisoner fan Sometimes with Harold you want to call him Ted Douglas.
This was sad to watch until he finally remembered everything which I believe was when he confronted Lou on calling him jelly belly.
I remember this when it was on TV years ago, sweet memories.
Phil the gentle giant is also fabulous in these scenes.
Thank you so much for this, I've been waiting years to see all these scenes after Harold's return (only seen his first reappearance in Episode 2733).
+Mark TD what is this episode number?
If i'm correct here, these are episodes 2736, 2739, and 2740.
#marktd what's this episode number please
I always wanted Helen Daniels' home telephone handset. Way ahead of its time.
Same! This clip just reminded me of that
Remember their laptop as well. Absolutely pavement slab
back when neighbours was good
Lou's top completely stole that scene
Ahhh Madge and Helen.
Old school Neighbours
Lou’s jumper from 3:57. Shocking the world since 1996!
He said it was Melbourne cup day, he was dressed as a jockey
It's like Dirty Den returning from the dead after 14 years
Thanks for uploading this! I want to see what happened next - Harold getting his memory back!
I like how his new name was Ted. Same as his character in Prisoner.
Always thought Helen should have been more surprised than that.
That wasn't the first time she'd seen him but nobody believed her until he turned up at the house in this episode.
This is great. Do you have more episodes i.e. Complete years?
"We professionals notice - Joe Public never clocks a darn thing." -'Marion Clune.' Victoria Wood; _Acorn Antiques_
“Where’s the bloody tray…..it’s mentioned……”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏
Does anyone know what happened to Marlene? She went on a cruise and never returned...
The painting in Jim Robinson's lounge is of Helen's husband Reuben who died very soon after their marriage.
I remember that, must have been back in the 90s she disappeared away on that cruise so no doubt she's due back any day now. 🤣
Hi thanks for uploading. Do you have any more old neighbours episodes?
GingerAnna 1 in this quality? id rather he didnt.
This was 1996, yet the video makes it look like 1986. Lol. Nice trip down memory lane. 🤣 (Get the pun? Lol)
Did that woman also play Schwarzeneggers disguise in Total Recall? She's the spit. "Twwooo weeks"
Lol, no...
Marlene Kratz (Moya O'Sullivan died this year aged 91.
Helen's reaction seems really emotionless, anybody else notice that?
Actress was pretty unwell by then!.
The character at the time was recovering from a stroke - Anne Haddy was acting.
@@Nammilicious Anne Haddy was having heath problems in real life and thats why Anne left next year and passed away two years later.
From what I recall, she had previously seen him so was aware that he was back before he came to the house.
Was thinking that. Also, wouldn't they have called police or something straight away.
Would have made sense to contact the police, showing them photos of him.
Aaahhhh Madge
Did David Lynch write this story line ?
Harold got MK’d
Harold didn't drown his glasses were seen on a rock or something.
Wonder if the scriptwriters are having some fun here - he was Ted Douglas in Prisoner!
What on earth is Lou wearing ? 😁
Reminds me of how Bobby Ewing came back when it was all a dream
Big up Ted
Hello Harold where have you been for 5 years
This makes no sense because "Ted" know he has amnesia so when people recognize him he would naturally think they are right not refute it like he does here. Oh lord, why on earth am I surprised a soap has an unrealistic plot point. I need to get a life.
nice try but I don't buy that explanation. Thanks for making me feel like someone else cares enough to comment though ;)
Lee Smith It seems like he was in denial/in shock.
He was supposed to be confused, scared and completely overwhelmed...I've seen real life amnesia cases before and the person always demand proof before they accept that what these (as far as they're concerned) "strangers" are saying is true.
So iconic
Neighbours had lost the plot by this time and were desperate to go back to past former glories by resurrecting Madge and Harold. It didn't really work as Madge wasn't as feisty anymore and all Harold did was play the tuber. The glory days of Neighbours were 1986 to 1993.
Fonejacker I think Neighbours was good in the late 90s and early 2000s, but do specifically remember it sucking in the mid 90s.
Jay West Neighbours went through ups and downs in the 90s. It’s best period was the 80s/early 90s. The mid 90s did absolutely suck when the Kennedys first appeared. I remember watching it in the late 90s/early 2000s so i guess it was better by then.
Nah, it went to crap after 2005.
I still thought they were great and desperately needed as the show had gone a bit rubbish. They’d killed too many good characters off in the early 90s. Like Todd, Jim Julie and Cheryl. I hate when soaps kill great characters for no reason.
Their couldn't be 2 Harold bishops 🤣🤣🤣🤣
How did he get here
How can phillip not know who madge surely they were both at scott and Charlene's wedding
I would like to pay my respects to the final episode of Neighbours. Personally, I was quite disappointed with some of the delivery - Especially For You plays and cue Scott and Charlene - wtf? And three words spoken by Kylie - such a let down! On the other hand, we have to give it up for Guy Pearce - his performance was the show stealer and Annie Jones was great in the supporting role as such 🙂
Yes, weird, but Jane and Mike made up for it 🤗.
This would of been a good time to feed Harold a load of bollocks about the past.....maybe tell him he liked fast woman and even faster drugs, that he loved drinking and train surfing, convince him he hated religious beliefs and loved bare knuckle fighting with men or women......But no, boring.
Lou looks like one of the X men😁
Good old fadge Bishop.
Why did Helen have to explain who Madge was since they all knew her
@Andrew Ward It wasn't Marlene asking
@Andrew Ward No i meant the mans voice asking who Madge was... and the Martins were there when Madge was in it the first time
@Andrew Ward Yeah but Philip probably woudn't have automaticaly acociated the Madge he knew for 5 minutes with the Madge that they're taking about now..he never knew Harold and there's more than one woman called Madge in the world.
Madge was on the show with the Martin's for several months before she left.
They arrived in July 1992 and Madge left in November 1992. Abit of a continuity error.
Coincidence they called him Ted, or a knock at a previous role?
good actor 🍉actually
Mmmm this is kinda similar to the Dee storyline.
Thought this was funny but I seem to recall they took this story from a real event it was based on a true story
Why whenever the name lou comes up imagine a dancing orangutan
This story could be done for Mick Carter in EastEnders if Danny Dyer decides to come back in like 10 years time
Please no
Pathetic storyline. Neighbours was so desperate at this point with such a stupid plot. Just lucky Harold hadn't forgotten how to drive
Lol, looking at it now, absolutely agree! But as a 12/13 year old kid, it was exciting stuff, bringing back an old character, no matter the circumstances :-)
THey should of made at as Madge drowns and Harold survives, he spent nearly all the 00s as a widow and it worked out just fine.
Hippo's have the biggest K9s
why is lou dressed like a jockey?
Andrew James I believe it was because he was hosting Melbourne Cup Day at The Waterhole..
He said it was Melbourne Cup day.
Filmed from a screen. Poor content.
Not sure where else you may get this content as it has become very rare! You could try bootleg DVD sellers but they tend to sell by the series and it would cost a bomb
@@prendersmack1643 - I was possibly unkind, I think there is a way to transfer VHS to digital so it would look slightly better.
@@Richard_Straker Unfortunately I no longer have the VHS recording of these episodes. I appreciate the feedback, though. All the best!
Lou looks like one of the X men😁
