I was definitely intrigued with Fired on Mars from day one. The trailer really impressed me with how it’s an adult animated show that was actually getting a grounded story and not a over the top shock humor fest. Gonna give my opinion on each show:
The Prince: literally Allen Gregory but longer and worse. At least Allen Gregory was only 7 episodes. Funny how Simpsons writers were able to make their own shows without making it suck. (BIG fan of The Critic and Mission Hill over here).
The Ricky Gervais Show: I understand not liking it at first. I didn’t. Then it kinda became like It’s Always Sunny for me: just nonstop chaos. Plus, Karl Pilkington is a true genius.
Santa Inc.: Love the art style. Overall, it feels like an animated spin-off of The Sarah Silverman Program, which I’m kinda iffy on. If you can stomach it it’s fine.
VELMA: I know many have said that this is just Mindy Kaling venting (something she’s prone to do in her other work), but I think that since the hype died down, there’s nothing to really support it. It is DESIGNED to piss people off. I’ve read fanfics and porn comics with better takes on Scooby-Doo. Can’t wait for Season 2 to destroy my Twitter timeline.
Also watch Mystery Incorporated. The cartoon and the live-action RUclips show. Both are better takes.
Ten Year Old Tom: Ah yes, I like this one. I was gonna write about how similar it is to Home Movies, but my job is done. Hope to see it grow into something amazing.
Animals.: Man, I can’t believe Smosh ripped this show off. Embarrassing. This show has HUGE David Firth/ Salad Fingers energy. The different stories remind me of The Wall arc from Solar Opposites. So yeah. I’m out of things to say. It solid.
Spicy City: GOD this show was done SO DIRTY. I want this to come back so badly, or at least a remaster. Bakshi knows how to do sci-fi man.
The Life and Times of Tim: the good one. Deadpan animation is my favorite genre.
Close Enough: banger show. Kinda sad that they got cancelled, considering that season 3 was just starting to experiment a little more (they did a Treehouse of Horror-style Halloween episode and it was pretty good). Alas, I await whatever JG has next.
Fired on Mars: This show is a modern-day classic. Alongside Moon Girl and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, THIS is the way forward for the 2020s in terms of animation. Plus putting Luke Wilson in a dystopian hell-scape is my jam.
Spawn: Yeah this is awesome. Shame how Spawn just can’t catch a break. How the film is ass but Hellboy got two bangers back-to-back is astonishing. Still, we will never have another show like this one. The very definition of “I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it.” Fire.

The problem is, in terms of quantity, raunchy or dirty humor with satirical takes on adult problems is the most common genre for Western adult animation.
Despite the fact that adult animation has huge potential in handling so many genres and being even more vivid and colorful than live action adult-oriented shows.

To add on the Ricky Gervais Show, I absolutely love it. It's a good show to either watch or to listen to. Personally, I think that Karl Pilkington (the star of the show/podcast) is one of the most funniest people you'll ever listen to. What makes this better is that he's 100% genuine, meaning he's never trying to be funny. It's just him. The things this man says will catch you off guard if you're willing to listen to his stories and ideas. Ricky's laughter is also hysterical. He loves egging on Karl whenever he tries to explain something ridiculous. They all have really good chemistry.
I can agree that the Ricky Gervais Show might not be for everyone, but I don't think it's trying to be. In fact, all shows in general will have people who enjoy it and those who don't, and that's okay.
On that note, if you're willing to give this hilarious adult animated series a try, I'd recommend starting at season 2. All seasons are good, but season 2 is a great hook. There are plenty of laughs to be had here.

Gotta be honest though, the bit with Velma just helplessly laughing at Shaggy, like, not HERSELF meaning to come across as mean, but just not getting it AT ALL and just finding it HYSTERICALLY funny, just getting funnier the harder he tries-- THAT is actually REALLY hot as far as I'm concerned. I could even see an edgier version of the REAL Velma getting a similar or even that EXACT joke-- the rest of the show can burn up in a rabid AIDS fire.

The big thing of why I loved Spawn TAS, is the handling of the "love triangle" like he didnt feel like fucking dick about the whole unfortunate situation of "dying and finding your wife married your best friend"
    So many
Too many shows have love triangles that just are really annoying to watch, and Im glad they didnt focus on that aspect so much for the show
Also, fuck, you put on that infinity train soundtrack sold my soul for watching Fired on Mars. Gonna sit down in a sec with some friends to watch it
