    Losing hope?!? Yet you never do! You tried tried tried on hyper speed until you matched the second set of swatches.
    You are so much fun to listen to, especially when you begin to wet your swatches! “Oh, this is sooo much funnnn!”
    Enjoyed you explaining all the different techniques you were using as you painted the amazingly detailed tortoise. And it’s so true that the lines in the dark blue water did indeed look like streaks of light… and you didn’t even plan for that look!

    I've used Mungo oil pastel crayons. They are not bad. I have the neocolor 2 crayons but have not used them yet because of the expense. Now I'm ready after watching your video. Your drawing was lovely....I only draw patterns and mandalas in black ink. I'm coloring them with pencils...watercolor pencils...watercolors ..markers and now water so
    Uble crayons. Enjoy swatching colors from these media. Cool video to get some tips from.☺️

    That's really cute!!! I loved your painting!!! I use caran'dache neocolor crayons since forever and love them. I just don't like to paint big areas with them, because it's not easy to get a good spread of the pigment. Because they're soooo pigmented!!! I just don't think it's a fare comparisson with the other crayons, because they're a totally different material. Excuse my English. It's not my mother language. 😂 But I really liked your video. Thanks for sharing. 🤗

      Your English is perfect! That is right on, the large area was my biggest struggle! Do you usually just do a multimedia approach and do the large areas with something else, like gouache or watercolor?

      @@CreatingCuteArt Normally I just use them as common crayons because of their smoothness. Love them! is like watercolor pencils, I use them for making the dawing that I'll paint in watercolor, because they will almost desapear and leave just the watercolor showing. I don't like to use these mediums as watercolors.

    As a youngster, I used to dip (or spit on) the colored pencils I had, then dab on their newly brilliant colors to my art. They were inexpensive ones, but they really got intense. As I watched this video, I decided to get out my Neo2’s and add them (dry) to a small work I have, being started in watercolor, which I was planning to continue in gouache to mellow it out. It’s a picture of a cat, adored by its owner, in overexposed color, the “red eye” is Green (!) and the background manages to make pine boughs look like exotic tropical foliage. I figured the essentially abstract background I roughed in might be fun to fiddle with, so I drew (dry) on some colors with the Neo2’s, then wet them. I am guessing/hoping I can go over the crayons with gouache later.
    This cat looks psychedelic! (A Pinterest search yielded some appropriate cat eyes to substitute for the wild ones in the original).
    What an adventure I’m having, trying and interweaving mediums! Never stop what you’re loving! And thanks for sharing!

    Thank you for sharing. I love your turtle he’s so cute. I love theses crayons! I love crayons throughout my school years, the best day of school was when I got to buy my new box of crayons! I can still feel how excited I was when a got the big box with a sharper built in the box. I’m loving Caran D’Ache and Lyra aquacolor!

    They work really well on watercolor paper with a little texture. Are u using smooth paper here? Ur turtle is so cute!

    • @CreatingCuteArt
      @CreatingCuteArt  2 года назад +2

      Yes, it’s 150 gsm smooth white, totally not for watercolor lolol! But it’s a Stillman and Birn Alpha Series mixed media sketchbook so I thought it would be good-I’m excited to see them on cold press paper now that you say this!! So glad you enjoyed the lil turtle!

    • @Skinnychelle48
      @Skinnychelle48 2 года назад +3

      @@CreatingCuteArt my experience when using it with smoother paper is that the color application is a little streaky, it kinda thins itself out but on paper with some tooth, the color deposits into the tooth of the paper, kinda grabbing it more and it goes on thicker, smoother and creamier, giving more coverage. If you try it on cold pressed watercolor paper let us know what you think. Also, Lyra has crayons that are super nice too, just about as nice as the Neocolors but they are cheaper and I believe they are artist grade as well. You can’t buy them open stock though, they come in a small set of like maybe 12, a set of 24 and I think a set of 48 on Amazon.
