Love this, thank you. Have a set of 30 and bought some individual crayons too, so probably up to 40+, and appreciated seeing how you use them. Will help my play with mine.
Yes, I would recommend the Lyra crayons…they are very similar to the Neo II’s. But…with caveats. I don’t know the lightfastness, if that matters to you. They’re a lil’ harder & lil less pigmented. They only come in sets of 24/46, no open stock that I’ve been able to scrounge up. The main reason I got them was for the color palette variety…I’m all in for greens and they have some nice ones. So, with a full set of neo II’s, are they necessary? No, but I managed to snag these off the warehouse deals section on Amazon…they weren’t used, just damaged, a few broken. No bother. 👋😊👋
You should add a link to Part 1 in the description. Thank you for the wonderful tips! I have a small set of 15, but today the full 84 are coming and I'm so excited!
Great walk through of the neocolors and the draw along. Thank you for sharing your reference photo and thoughts on creating beautiful art from a humdrum view.
I'm glad to come across a video on mixing crayons. I can't afford a box of 84 crayons. My soul even cried a bit for the crayons I lost to the paper when mixing :).
I too love both neocolors I & II and my Lyra Aquacolors. Great video. At the end, after the tape removal I said CUTE…then you said CUTE 😋. This was Fun…watching all the layers & texture you created . I “lost” you for quite some time…so I have a lot of catchin’ up to do! I appreciate your straightforward informative approach Laurence. I like a good supply haul video, as much as the rest, but I really enjoy when how you generously continue showing your art and how you create. Anyhoo, so glad I found your lovely videos again Laurence. I hope you are happy, well & feeling creative going into the new year👋
Omg you’re so kind! I’m glad you found me again :) the algorithm does that to me too and although it sucks not to see somebody’s videos for a while, it’s nice to realize I have a lot of them to watch now! I’ve never heard about the Lyra Aquacolors. Would you recommend them?
Thanks for sharing what you learned about the Caran d'Ache Neocolor II in this two part series. I have a newly arrived box that I have yet to open, so your videos showed up in my feed just in time.
@LaurenceP-art Aww, bless you. Awful in that it sounds stretched somehow, very discordant, to the point it put my teeth on edge. Thank you for responding, and I will watch a newer video now I know you've altered that. Sweet dreams 😴
@wendyb4741 oh I’m so sorry! I’ll listen back to it this week to see if I hear it and what could have caused that. If you watch one of my newer videos, please let me know if you like them better. Thank you for your constructive criticism 💕
Love your style❤️ I was painting and watching because I’m so excited for my new inktense water colors. I try to learn how to draw and paint more loose and relax. It’s so difficult but I love it!
This is the best!!! I always have a video in the background when I paint and I peek at it from time to time for inspiration. Does Derwent have Inktense watercolours? Or are you taking about the watercolor pencils?
Thanks for the thorough video. I work mainly in watercolor but want something a bit more vibrant. I just bought the neo color I crayons and your video is very helpful in blending and techniques. ❤
I always like seeing how artists transformed an image into a painting so i thought I’d do the same! And give the opportunity for people to paint with me if they want :)
Love it. These are my favourite medium. I picked up 13 to try and just ordered 44 more from Jackson’s
They are so fun aren’t they?? 🤩
Brilliant tutorial! Thank you for taking time to share your videos with us. New sub. 🙏🏼💕
I’m so glad you liked it! Welcome to my channel! :)

Ok good to know! I agree that they may not be necessary but if I ever come upon a cheap set, I’ll consider getting it!

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed!
The music is awful. 😢 I'm afraid i couldn't continue listening xx
Awful because you don’t like it or is it too loud? I barely use any music anymore but I appreciate the feedback!

Thank you for a nice Caran D'Ache Neocolor II tutorial. This inspired me to use these colors more.🙂
I’m so glad to hear that! They are so fun and I’m happy to share the love
I enjoyed seeing your reference picture too.
