And half of those 3 weeks I spent sleeping outside in the Canadian winter at -20 Celsius, -4 Fahrenheit for Americans. What did the cops that find a 14 year old out in the streets at midnight do? Brought me back and told my parents to leave me alone for the night. No one gave a shit. Now imagine if the same thing happened, but with my step dad doing that to my sister. Women just aren't seen as dangerous or competent enough to do these horrific crimes due to gender bias. Also just the way churches run give priests a disproportionate amount of trust and sway over people which leads to this on top of many being traditionalists and thus believing it is ok for minors to do adult activities after a certain point because traditionally those ages were when people married.

The way my jaw dropped when I heard the last guy was a priest… It always baffles me to see how many religious people, who are supposed to be good, end up doing weird things like this. The whole undercover cop situation reminds me of when I found out a friend of mine from church was being abused by her family and had been all her life, was taken away by CPS multiple times and out in foster care only to return home years later. Her parents seemed like the model Christians, best friends with the pastor and his wife, showing up to church everytime not just on Sunday Mornings, and being friendly with everyone. It was disgusting to hear the way they had treated her and even worse because there was nothing I could do, we had no evidence and saying anything meant she would only suffer more when her parents found out she told me. Her father was also an ex cop which makes it way worse. I still wish there was a way I could help her

17:14 do you want an actual answer about this? Predators tend to gravitate towards positions of trusted authority in order to gain proximity to their target population (teachers, police, clergy, doctors). It can be about power/control or narcissism for most of them, but also ease of access and what they hope will be a lower bar for gaining their victims’ trust.
Also, I personally think that the reason Catholic priests had such a huge scandal was twofold. First, the Church maintains an extremely heavy environment of paternal authority that puts emphasis on the importance/power/infallibility of the power figures involved. That means a much greater chance of successfully manipulating victims and keeping things secret. Second, Catholic priests & higher up (bishops, etc) are some of the only clergy members who are expected to maintain complete celibacy. Predators who favor the underage demographic are often not able to form or maintain intimate relationships with other adults. Since a grown man who never has intimate contact with anyone, doesn’t date, etc. is typically seen as suspicious and/or creepy, the celibacy of clergyhood can be a useful shield against that kind of scrutiny. It helps a predator maintain the veneer of being a normal/trustworthy person, without having to go through the trouble of trying to fake a consensual adult relationship/family dynamic.

2:00 with this story I can completely understand, why most companies fail these security tests of yours. If somebody tries to steal data from the company, they never just openly come in and start confidently doing such a stuff. You come in there with no fear of getting caught, so you can do such a ridiculous stuff and the employees, when they see you might even think, you work there or rather just might even feel embarassed for you, so they just turn away, that it's not their business, what you're doing. Sure, it's a great strategy for any sort of intruder trying to breach data, but nobody will ever do that, because they don't want to go that stupid about it and get caught. You're rather discovering a psychological phenomenon, than the level of security. However sure, based on everything, you've said, this very company probably didn't run things all that well.

The reason for the priest stuff is probably just because they have lost it. It obviously takes a lot of self control to be a priest, let alone, to be someone who believes in a religion such as Christianity, and who sees many more things as wrong compared to others who aren't, and don't have an influence like that. It's also because they let thoughts in their minds run without controlling them, and get careless, after having so much composure for so long. I don't think its just me when we occasionally have the thought of just completely losing it, and going crazy, and to just start being reckless. Of course, most people don't, but they are the ones that do. And someone who has had to keep composure for their whole lives is going to have much more of a struggle with that temptation than someone who has not been so restricting of their lives.
Btw, I am a Christian myself, and I believe that we should restrict ourselves from a lot of things that society doesn't. Such as porn. Porn utterly ruins your life, and quite literally rewires your brain, and changes something that is meant to be sacred, special, and shared with the love of your life, yet porn is so common for teens and younger adults, and it's so widely accepted as ok, and no one puts a second thought into it. Plus the entire idea of waiting until marriage. Just imagine that, that the first time you ever engage in sex, is after waiting what may have been years, and it's only with the person you love and desire more than anything in the world, and there is no shame whatsoever? Thats a dream come true, and I'm willing to bet that in our hearts, that's a beautiful, beautiful thought. But none of us act on that, because the world and society constantly tells us we can, and should do otherwise, and we indulge.

Damn dude, who complains about a massage parlor with happy endings? Just like, you didn't enjoy it or like they charged to much or what? Or maybe they used hand sanitizer other times too? But definitely the coercion part.. That's messed up and seems like the boss should get some sort of charge for basically pimping, some kind of charge for sexual assault/trafficking and maybe some kind of coercion/blackmail/(s)extortion charge...
But totally aside from the wrongdoing of the employer, if a client didn't know the massage therapists were being forced/coerced, I don't understand why they would report them. Maybe it was unexpected/unwanted/unsolicited sometimes. I know there's all the stuff these days about "men can be victims too" and all of this but I just can't see a _typical_ dude getting so bent out of shape over an unexpected hand job that he would escalate the situation to what would _then_ be an embarrassing situation by reporting it. I mean, I've always been ultra-faithful and before my wife left me earlier this year, I would have had the mental fortitude to turn down any unsolicited sexual advance - even if it was a stunningly gorgeous, enthusiastic woman. But I still wouldn't have reported it - it would have been like, "Really, thanks but I'm married and I'm as faithful as a German Shephard"...
But anyway, seeing as how my wife was very rarely interested in intimacy the last couple of years and how it's been like 5 months since she left and seeing as how I'm so faithful and put all my my attention into her, there's not even remotely a "backup plan"/no other potential romantic interest (plus, I'm still pretty messed up at the abruptness with which she left) and I've got to start over from the ground up meeting a completely new woman and building a whole new relationship, I'm starting to notice the lack of female companionship lol.. I almost wish we had massage parlors like that around here - if they were willing, consenting participants. But seriously though, I want a woman to actually _want_ to be with me. But, I'm a fat, sub-social, scruffy, 37 year old hermit and it probably ain't gonna happen - I'm probably going to die alone lol.. But I've had 2 fucked up marriages so I had my chance.

Usually the ones complaining about that kind of massage parlor fall into one of four groups: Women who aren't the target demographic and just wanted a massage (who can generally tell based on the masseuse's level of skill if it's a legit place, since most of those parlors do shite massages); people guilty about their actions thanks to their religion/religious beliefs and don't mind acting on their hypocrisy; people who want to keep "that type" of activity out of their neighborhood (especially if the parlor opened next to a spot popular with children+their parents like a local Ice Cream parlor); and the guys who got jilted or received such poor service that they want revenge on the owner or masseuse (though depending on the shop, the latter can rotate out somewhat regularly) for the poor/overly expensive service they received. Also doesn't help matters that, in the US at least, that kind of work that they're doing "under the table" is illegal in 49 states, functionally 50 since Arizona requires you register as that type of business outright and a number of politicians want to prevent more legal options from opening.

@@HoneysMustard well yeah anything above a 6 year difference for either 16/17 YO is definitely a bit odd, but that being said it's definitely within reason for a person well past puberty to explore sexuality in a safe environment with someone similar in age with their own and their parents approval combined, hence these laws existing in MOST, not SOME places. Think on this food for though, if one is not taught they will likely still learn. but a trial by fire in an unsafe environment with no aid or teachers or any form of knowledge or protection is FAR more dangerous that a protected, safe, well informed attempt done with the guidance of a trusted teacher, done in tandem with another you yourself and your well informed teacher both approve of. there are REASONS for these laws, reasons for them that bring about a degree of human failure yes, but I would much rather my own child learn by first being taught the ins and outs of safety, planning and more by me so they know what to expect, what to avoid and more, and so they are SAFE going into it and that I myself trust the individual involved rather then, much like with taxes and laws and other things as you become an adult and schools and parents fail to inform you on these things (this is the degree of human error I mentioned), them learning the hard way by going out without any knowledge on how to navigate the social situations that lead up to it, how to do the actual deed and choose a partner safely, etc etc and ending up raped, beaten or killed or god knows what. I want you, nay I DARE you, I DEFY YOU to come up with any sort of evidence that says a post puberty teen within the legal age having sex in a safe environment with a pre-approved by parental figures partner can cause any sort of mental or physical issues with any degree more than how you believe it should be done with a trial by fire method. you won't, because it's simply false. you can't because a safer environment once matured enough to experience these things and equipped with the desire to explore these thoughts and feelings is ALWAYS better than not having been taught, not having been given a chance to mature because all of your guidance was nonexistent due to fear of somehow corrupting a youth leading them to navigate a potentially dangerous situation with no safety net to speak of and the only action that could be taken to remedy the danger is punishment rather than prevention, a prevention that mind you requires zero punishment, so it breaks no innocent until proven guilty moral code, and a prevention that proves zero risk to mental health and in fact could positively effect your relationship with your child because you didn't constantly restrict them from safe activities when said activities are done in safe environments with proper protection, proper partners close in age that you and them both approve of.... like I could keep going on but it's getting repetitive, and I know whatever I say it won't matter because you're just gonna say 'nuh uh is bad very bad because is bad" because you are sheeple that believes everything the media feeds them, constant fearmongering telling you everything is bad except what we say is good because we are always right and you have blind faith as do many others, without looking at the facts and perspectives you choose to pass judgement on a topic that with no knowledge or proof you have zero right to pass judgement on. humanity is complicated, our existence is fleeting and we get one chance to get it right. it's better to be safe, knowledge, with a wide perspective but not missing the small things than just have blind faith in what you are told by authority even if that authority has been proven to not give two shits about your safety or even your very existence past the numbers you generate by existing. I know you're going to argue, I know it's all going to be nonsense, I don't really care..... I'm tired of this constant hypocrisy, the lies, the slander and the hatred. I'm tired of the terminally online with zero actual life experience saying whatever the fuck some famous or rich or influential people said..... I'm done and I'm not going to respond further. you have two choices, ignore my opinion and scream at a wall, or broaden your horizons, choose to teach, to learn, to grow alongside others for a better future, a future of true freedom, a future without classes, without races, without all these bullshit arguments.... maybe we can have a better future but that's up to you and those around you. make your choice I rest my case

16 is the age of consent in most states. Likely there was nothing that could be done. Also, it was really inappropriate that the OP just randomly told a random young woman cashier about it.

16 is legal in a lot of states, so it might not have mattered.

There's is no state in which a 16 yr old can perform oral on a 37 yr old. The law is usually a three to four year gap allowed at most when dealing with legal teenagers and adults. Think 16 and 19 as ok. Anything beyond that, not so much.

Romeo and Juliet Law exists meaning it may be legal consent age of 16 but the age gap MUST be between 3-5 years…. Not 21 like the second story.
