I would love you to make another video about being stress free and avoiding certain type of content yet staying informed. You really seem lighthearted and energetic and I think part of it it's your diligence about it ☺️
My hair is past my tail bone! Longest I’ve ever had it! I changed my diet(no processed foods or anything with sugar, went gluten free, only eat what God gave us to eat), exercise about 3 - 4xs a week, drink lots of water, eat lots of protein(mostly animal based protein: meat(no pork), 2 duck eggs a day, raw milk), sleep on a mulberry silk pillowcase, & I take the Garden Of Life Raw Prenatal vitamins 3xs a day. I get compliments daily on how long & beautiful my hair looks.
@ Aww, thank you. 🙏🏻 You are an inspiration too! Haha! Well I will have some sweets, like your fave carrot cake once in a great while(like my birthday or Christmas) but a gluten free healthy carrot cake or some other baked goods made with healthy ingredients.
THANK YOU for this!! I swear it's so hard to find good info for those of us with fine hair. It's such a challenging texture and I feel you so hard on literally anything breaking your hair!
Yes, I've been looking since high school, not than 10 years ago, but then illness the past couple years really screwed my hair and then having a baby this year and Im down to like 3 hairs left on my head lol I haven't really looked for hair info just cus it hasnt been priority but I already follow Mrs Midwest so this was so nice to find out she had fine hair!
Yes I have fine hair and I'm growing it out. So many I see have such thick gorgeous hair. Until I found you the closest I have found is Abby Yung. Thank you so much.
One of the best pieces of advice I've gotten from Caitlyn is to wash your hair more often. I also have very fine hair and it would get oily so quickly. I would try to wash my hair as little as possible because of the common rhetoric of "if you want your hair to grow, wash it as little as possible". That was wrecking my hair! Now I wash it every other day, and my hair has never been healthier 😊
Yessss this!!! I was constantly like “why does it feel so WRONG to not wash my hair more often”. It was doing nothing for my hair type to go days and days between washes and I thought something was wrong with me lol. Nope, just wrong advice for this hair type!
I went carnivore in February, and that's really helped. my "old lady hands" are gone and my nails are like claws - saves hundreds of dollars not getting acrylics every 2 weeks. my eyebrows used to be very thin and sparse, now I don't even need to fill them in with makeup. my hair is growing like a weed and I too used to be stuck at shoulder length. My gym has a sauna, so I will workout with hair oil and then I will massage my scalp right before I sit in the sauna, stay there for 20 minutes and then I wash my hair as soon as I get home. I lift weights twice a week, so I oil and wash twice a week. I have little baby hairs on my forehead that were not there before. Idk if it's from carnivore or the sauna trick, But im just happy my hair line is thicker. I have a cousin with really long thick 4c/4b hair and so does her mom, because they make bone broth with bone morrow and rosemary like tea. This is now a weekly thing that I make in the cockpot and drink. Carnivore already helped me lose weight but the bone broth really helps suppresses my appetite because it makes me feel full even though I'm just drinking broth ( this is because the high nutrient profile and protein in the broth for basically no calories. I really recommend making it yourself because the ones at the store have additives).
Videos I would LOVE to see: 1. a hair tutorial from start to finish with the hairstyle you're wearing in this video. 2. A video doing a deep dive into "The Empowered Wife" sharing how you apply Doyle's secrets to your own life and marriage. Hope you see this Caitlin - you are so incredible & I've been a fan since the beginning. Side note: your blog posts got me through so many difficult times ❤
It takes a lot of effort!!!! Don’t be fooled 😂😂 watch some of my GRWMs. There are a lot of steps! But I also found learning my Kitchener essence and kibbe type helpful too in capturing a look that really works for me!!
I love this! It might sound silly to focus on appearance when talking about health but flipping through photos from a very difficult time of my own life I straight up looked worse, (shorter damaged hair, overweight, frumpy) and it was very indicative of my stress levels. Also I love the idea of intentionally building life around minimizing unnecessary stress- if you ever make a video around it it would be amazing 😊
This may be controversial to some, but using acne wash on your scalp twice a week can do wonders. Also taking a quality wild caught omega everyday & pumpkin seed oil pills. Not only do these supplements strengthen hair & nails, but they also regulate your hormones, help with fertility, & smooth skin. I can't recommend these enough from experience.
Love! It was so validating to hear that for some people you just have to wash your hair more frequently! I tried the once a week hairwashing thing, and my scalp could only go three days before it started hurting and getting itchy. Started washing my hair daily, and I haven't had any issues since. I'm pregnant now, and it has changed some things, I can go a couple days without washing if I want to, I guess my scalp is producing less oil so I haven't had any problems, but I still wash every day unless I just don't have time. Quick little hair tip: rinsing your hair once every other week with diluted ACV is a great way to remove buildup from your scalp!
You're so pretty, I see the light of Christ throught you! Glory to God ❤ thank u for being such a positive influence. Ps: I' m brazilian and still learning english 🇧🇷
Great tips for fine haired girlies!! I noticed a huge difference in my hair growth when i started double cleansing; i wash my scalp with shampoo, use a tool that cleans the scalp-very gently- then rinse & shampoo one more time before applying a conditioner or conditioning mask. Double cleansing ensures cleanliness of the scalp so hair can grow! I personally wash every third day...
Even as a wavy/curly girl, many of these tips are wonderful! I have had so much growth following a similar routine! I just use slightly heavier products!
@@Makai-mq2uv yes, I think mine are pretty fine too. My hair is thick, so I never thought of it as fine. But a true curly hair routine weighs it down too much, and it seems to break more!
Same! And these tips work better for me than most curly advice. Super fine curly hair in my experience is more similar to fine straight hair that course curls
@@Makai-mq2uv That’s interesting! I never knew that curly fine stranded hair is similar to fine straight hair. I just clicked on the video because I don’t believe in locking myself in a category. What’s your routine like? I’m just starting to see growth. My hair is past my armpits now. What I do differently is I get mini twists at the hair salon and leave them in for 4-5 weeks and make sure I moisturise. Then I wear my hair untwisted for a couple weeks to give myself a break from the heat. I realised that box braids is a hit or miss for me. My ends are sometimes feel fried after taking them down and I have to trim them afterwards.
@ that statement that it is similar is just based on my experience. I am sure many people would COME AT ME for that statement. But why I say that is because of the weight of products mainly. As well as frequency of washing. First off your hair is stunning! My hair is is 3b/c so not exactly your type, but very fine ringlets. For more context of if I dry my hair pulled back in a twist in a clip it will dry straight-ish. So the littlest bit of traction with pull t straight and a bit more will break it. I shampoo every 3rd day. I use Kristen ess when I clarify. Usually every other shampoo is a clarify unless I use a lot of extra product. On days I don’t clarify I use the loreal sulfate free dandruff line. Excellent for product buildup removal without such a deep clean as a clarifier. . I adore the loreal tub mask “elastic bc fiber mask” I believe for my deep conditioner. I use it when I clarify For my regular conditioner, I haven’t found my perfect fit but right now I am using carols daughter black vanilla. Nice, average, doesn’t weigh me down too much. The biggest change for me was using a heavy sulfate clarifier every week. Sticking to all sulfate free stuff as a lot of curly influencers recommend just left my curls weighed down and my scalp irritated. As far as the rest, all Mrs Midwest’s tips. I diffuse my curls on cool with lots of leave in/heat protector. I use Eva NYC 10 in one for fine hair. And a hint of tresemmes volume spay at the roots. This give me an extra root lift and allows me to heat protect my root without getting leave in on my scalp. Satin pillowcases and or bonnets are amazing. And I occasionally oil my ends before washing, but not regularly. If you have any tips or products I’d love to know!
3c-4b hair here. Washing hair more often is key for our hair too! Also for me absolutely no oil on the scalp, ugh. My hair is fine, it hates all the extra stuff. Shower filter and going back to sulfates was key for me! Great content as always :)
Same here! Mix of 4c and 4b and I wash my hair twice a week usually, sometimes even three times. My hair is the healthiest it’s ever been and it’s growing so long 🥹
@@britneyt9253 I use the silk heat protectant lotion from kenra. I blow dry then flat iron. When I'm done I use silicone serum (1 pump) . If my hair is too flyaway or dry I will take one drop of jojoba oil. I rub the drop on my hands like lotion and rake through the mid-bottom of my hair. So shampoo,condition/mask, lotion, serum and optional oil. :)
So interesting that there is so many curly girls on here with 3C and plus curls. I started taking these vitamins and using this shampoo conditioner, and I think it’s helping, but it’s interesting in my mind I always thought that the curly girl method just wasn’t working. And mentally was annoying to have to wait a week to wash my hair, et cetera. Now I know that my hair is fine, and a lot of the products I was using were heavy so heavy that I decided to buy baby products, my hair is 3C and very kind cotton candyish
I'm a hairdresser and I went into this video skeptical but this is actually good advice. The one thing I'd change is that professional products and color / lightening services by an experienced stylist are huge. Because let's be real not everyone is blessed with beautiful, manageable, natural blonde hair! I have dark hair and I go very blonde, but I still have long healthy hair.
I've always wanted this video from the real life Aurora :D and even though my hair texture is like not even close to yours, I love learning other women's beauty secrets :)
Thank you!!!! Also so funny you said aurora. I have a video coming up on feminine character and personality and I go into my thoughts on a lot of the different princesses 😂❤
I’ve been to a Korean head spa while living here and it’s life changing! So relaxing but also I learned a ton! I have hair like yours Caitlyn and it’s finally starting to grow now that i simply treat it like it’s fragile!
Based on your advice I switched to sleeping on a silk pillowcase about two years ago and it has truly made such a difference. My hair is not down to my hips yet, but we're almost there. :) Thank you for expanding on that topic.
we live way under poverty line and in student loan debt... I've decided to cut my own hair and get cheap products for my hair and it's doing great! as Caitlin said, if you have what you need for your hair, it'll thrive!
Thank you sooo much. I could not for the life of me understand why not washing my hair made my hair fall out and made it feel SO unhealthy. Your videos are so helpful and realistic! ❤
Mrs. Midwest: I love your videos. You are so expressive, intelligent and beautiful. I too had some extreme issues with my hair in recent times but everything is working out now and my hair looks full and beautiful. I am a 45 year old man, also have long flowing wavy hair and even better my hair is not grey. I was losing my hair too but figured out how to regrow it from genetic hair loss, stress, malnutrition, hormone imbalance and could probably help your hubby if he wants to regrow his. I have plenty of tips not mentioned in your video. I could talk for hours on end to you about hair. I've been obsessed with long hair since nursery school and haven't changed one bit. I too love feminine related subjects, femininity, being feminine, looking feminine and so much that I truly wish I was a woman. Not sure how you feel about feminine men but honestly your videos are a goldmine of information for people like myself who are men but really should have been born women. If you look at the analytics of your videos I wouldn't be surprised if you have a sizable percentage of men too who watch your videos (and not just because you're gorgeous but) due to the wealth of information and interesting topics you choose to discuss.
Yes for scalp health! I have wavy/curly hair but very fine and I only go 4 days at most. I do not recommend clashing for people with my texture and density. I actually wash a little more often when I wear my hair naturally, and I avoid dry shampoo. I do use texture spray though 😬 but not too often. I’m saying all this as a pro stylist. Oh also I totally think it’s fine to not cut your hair. The industry will say you’ll have split ends, but that’s not necessarily true for a lot of people. Also it doesn’t consider people like me who go through periods of hair loss due to hashimotos, and whose wavy hair will look damaged when it’s not, it’s just part of being a wavy sometimes.
I'm a soon to be first time mom and I will be staying at home - I am going to start watching some of your videos when ur kids were newborns, I need lots of tips! ❤️ Keep up the good work you are always glowing!
My advice, I have fine wavy hair! - I agree about hair dressers, I remembers them making negative comments and having completely wrong assumptions... I love reddit too, and sara ingle made some really good videos about breakage! - I also agree about being gentle with fine hair, so crucial! Brushing is the #1 thing that causes breakage and I used to not know this for years. Also I don't brush my hair wet, only gently detangle when moist - Humidity can cause frizz and frizz is not damage! And look up gel, it helps with frizz really well - I blow dry my hair or air dry it with gel, depending on my plans, the weather and mood! Gel gives me such nice waves. I make my own gel with linen seeds - I love stick buns, usually I do a nautilus bun. Look it up! - be patient and try different things
I just love every video you put out! Wanted to say I have followed some of this advice from your previous video- washing hair more often (every 2-3 days now, it used to be once a week), using a blow dryer and not cutting it. They work ladies! My husband is always telling me my hair is getting longer now. And its getting past my waist! I struggle a lot with breakage. My advice is to do heatless curls and get a wood bristle hair brush. Both do wonders!
I'm full blown carnivore at this point and my hair is growing like a weed and really shiny. I've always had really fine, sparse eyebrows... and after about 5 months, they are thick. There is no need to use brow pomade anymore. I make bone marrow broth (full of collagen, healthy fats and protein) and drink raw milk.
I would watch you rehash literally all of your old videos, I look forward to your content so much! I feel like even in a video about hair, I’m still learning how to live a more peaceful life. Lots of love and I’m always praying for you! 🫶🏻
Yes on the stress! Also a positive ANA girlie here with very long hair and stress had to be reduced as much as possible. I would love to see a cleaning routine video and how you keep that low stress too!
I have positive ANA is that from stress? I would love some advice on that because it’s a mystery to me and I’m wondering about diet. Is it OK to avoid animal protein or do I need to eat it?
@ it can be caused by many different things but it is thought that auto immune diseases are caused by a combination of genetic predisposition and a stress of some sort. But stress in this case is more of a general term rather than just emotional stress (i.e. physiologic stress like illness is thought to also play a role in triggering the genes responsible for autoimmune diseases) As for diet, I have seen some people have success with changing their diet with methods like gaps or the wahls protocol. It’s highly dependent on what specific autoimmune disease you have though seemingly. I would definitely talk to a doctor or nutritionist about it before going on any major diet.
@ thank you for your reply. I don’t think I have an auto immune disease. I just have positive ANA. I did have a baby at age 44. It was a surprise, and he also surprised us with Down Syndrom, which really stressed me out as well as some things with my husband’s company and my husband’s health so there were a lot of traumatic stressful events in the past five years.
Hi! ✨ I have a different hair texture than yours and every single one of these tips I also use and have helped my hair thrive and grow out close to my waist 🎉 I love how you pointed out the fact that blow drying your hair has actually helped it grow. I’ve noticed the same with my hair texture. Even tho it is different than yours, it is also a fine hair texture and very delicate. Keeping it blow dried has maintained it in a stronger state and I see way less breakage! ❤ ❤
Love your hair! This is good advice, I have fine hair also and a lot of these tips improved my hair substantially within a few months. I also STOPPED slathering rosemary oil all over my head, instead started washing my hair regularly and hair oils just on the ends and midsections. I also recommend Tessa Peay and Blowout Professor on RUclips.
Perfect timing for me! ❤️ I'm really looking to put more care into my beauty routines and enhance my natural features more ✨ Thank you for sharing your tips! You're beautiful!
Hi. I'm from the Midwest too. My hair is hip length and I have found a good showerhead filter immeasurably positive for my locks. Most tap water is hard. Very tough on hair. So there's that. I have also found eating protein at meals will certainly help. A good scalp massage helps to bring oxygenated blood to the follicles resulting in healthy hair and growth.😊 And lastly......ENJOY IT!🌟🌼💕🐣🐴🐥🦭🐠🪔🍀🐿️🌝🐬💫☄️💯🕯️🌹❤️🌴💐
I just subscribed 🎉 You are amazing!!!! I am a curly headed girl. What you touched on was bang on!! As a curly girl I wash my hair once a week and blow dry every wash and style sometimes. I only use a few products. Of course shampoo and conditioner or deep conditioner. I use a leave in for my blowout and sometimes a heat protectant when I use a flat iron or curling iron. On days when I only blow dry I will use a serum on some days of the week. I do not put anything on my scalp. I brush my hair multiple times a day and wear a bonnet to bed. I am currently growing my hair out from a layered bob. I am in love with your hair and your tips!!! Exited for more videos from you!!! Peace and Love!!!
Great tips! Your hair is beautiful! I have hair down to the middle of my back and using the bonnet at night has made such a huge difference. In the morning my hair looks sleek and smooth, exactly like it was before I put it on. Not like a tangled nightmare. A must for long hair!
Love this!! ❤ thank you!! My hair is the complete opposite of yours but I still feel that there were some helpful tips in there! Thank you for sharing!! Your hair looks so good and each video I am blown away by it! 😊
Loved this video. Totally different topic question I would love to hear you talk about more: On your IG stories I saw someone list you as a “NON sad beige Christian girl” and this topic piqued my interest as I’ve been thinking about it more lately. Being a Christian is the biggest part of who I am. But lately I’ve been noticing… a lot of Christians seem to be afraid of life or of standing out, and I think I’m one of them (or at least I used to be). God didn’t intend this. He made us unique and fun with the ability to enjoy life for a reason. Like… I wonder why we are this way? An overblown fear of sinning to the point that we don’t embrace our true selves? I think you are a great example of someone who embraces life fully and doesn’t let fear drive any of your actions. Anyway, love your channel!
Had my AirPods on listening to your video while washing dishes late at night. Baby and hubby are asleep. I thought I was hearing their voices and even took my airpods out to listen a few times until I realized it’s your husband in the video with your kiddos 😂. Thought I was going crazy for a second there
Yay a video from someone who has the same hair type as me! I also have to wash my hair every second day otherwise it begins to look wet. However, I very rarely blow-dry my hair.. I just braid my hair after the shower and let it dry as when I take the braids out in the morning my hair has a really nice wave and it just gives it a bit of volume.
I have hyperemesis this pregnancy and my hair has been breaking off from a lack of nutrition. I can't wait to help fix it postpartum and will use all of these tips 🙏🏻 thank you
I have baby fine hair too. I had been washing and blow drying my hair every single day since middle school (I’m 32). Well, I jumped on the “train your hair” trend a few years ago and my hair had never been so damaged. Dry shampoo destroyed my hair. I honestly do not know why I jumped on that trend in the first place, I didn’t have ANY breakage before.
I can testify that my hair grew very long not washing it as often. I can pull it off because it doesn't get oily until after about 1,5 weeks. I use only very mild stuff on my hair. My scalp is very content this way. Great video, as always!
I swear this is exactly what I needed in my life right now! As a mom of 3, and dealing with so much stress, I’m losing my hair but thanks to you, I’m more hopeful! I have thin fine hair like you so I will take all your advice. I also do agree with the washing of hair every other day!🥰Love love seeing you😘
I am so glad I stumbled upon your video. I have super soft fine hair that has been breaking probably for past 10 years from bleaching it at the salon, and also frequent trims - no wonder I can't see growth past the two inches below the shoulder and it looks so thin from the bleach! It's been about the same length for the past 10 years; best hair I had was when I was a teenager - when it was my natural dark blonde color and wavy/curly naturally. I've been following the tips on here from others for past year but it's not addressing fine hair - washing it more frequently makes more sense; I tried to wash it once a week - heck no, it doesn't work because I work out every day and it gets super oily and I don't like dry shampoo. Washing it 2-3 times a week works better for me, but in summer probably more like every other day. Your tips make more sense because when I'm not using a blow dryer and am letting it air dry, hair looks so flat and boring and that does not make me feel good. I want to enjoy the process of growing my hair out and loving it where it's at and blow drying it makes it look its best. Washing it more frequently, blow drying with heat protection makes a lot of sense along with oils for mids and ends. I use Olaplex and rosemary oil. Thanks again for the tips!
Omg yes! I changed my routine to only cutting my hair if my ends are splitting. I would cut every 6-8 and my hair had stayed the same length for years. Now I can see a slight difference since I will only try to cut up to once/twice a year. Also stopping hair color/bleach helped me
Love this, and will echo most of it. I have very similar fine hair, except mine is naturally curly! I will say, box dye and oil on my roots have been absolutely fine and part of my routine regularly (I gently refresh my dye every 6 weeks) and I currently have the BEST hair of my life! I thought my hair simply stopped growing at a certain length but over the last year or two I’ve been able to get it to grow longer! Still some room for growth as far as how healthy it is, I’m trying to tame the frizz, but it’s still by far the best it’s ever been. Things I do the same as you: Clarifying shampoo every wash, washing every 2 days. Gentle hair brush Heat protectant on the ends Leave in conditioner sometimes, oil sometimes Focused on nutrition and protein Hair scrubber in the shower when I wash! Protective sleep styles (loose bun on top of my head with a spiral hair tie) I also blow dry my hair dry after each wash and use some form of heat (usually a curling iron) every second day. That hasn’t ruined my curl pattern either - another myth. If I wanted to wear my hair naturally curly my curls are fine - because I’ve worked on my hair health!
I really enjoyed your last hair video, it helped bring how much little actions like not taking care around a zipper can rip out hairs, thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
Yes!! I have fine semi wavy hair that breaks super easily. I always tried to go multiple days between washes and use dry shampoo and I discovered that the dry shampoo was ruining my hair causing it to dry out and break off while also causing buildup in my scalp. Now I wash more frequently and my hair is getting healthier. The frequent conditioning and cleaning off the oil and product regularly is essential for my hair. I still have dry shampoo for days when I genuinely don't have time to wash my hair, but try to avoid it. I still have layers in my hair but next haircut I'm going to try doing a blunt cut
Your hair is truly beautiful and the color is amazing. I come from a long line of black/brown hair with the occasional redhead popping out, friend included so it’s rare for me to see natural blond. My hair is course like wires but I take in all the tips from everyone.
i shaved my head the other day so i could start over completely. my hair was fried from dyeing it black and bleaching it to go red multiple times. i’m excited to have healthy hair and my natural color back!
That’s interesting with the long hair bonnet. I just use a short one but I gently braid my hair or put it in a gentle bun and it works. I may have to try one of those next and see what it does. I usually do oil on the ends at night after brushing my hair.
It‘s so interesting to see your hair care routine. You where the one inspiring me to wash my hair more often and it‘s thriving since. Eating more meat has also been essential for me to get my hair to grow. I have thicker hair that feels structured and seems to rip off by just hair strands touching each other. I‘ve always avoided hydrating products because I was afraid of my hair being oily but in the last years strongly hydrating smoothing products have been the saving grace for my hair. Don‘t be scared to try out heavy products if lighter ones don‘t make your hair feel silky🥰 Lots of love from germany
By growing out my babyfine virgin hair (same texture as you), using vitamins, silk and weightless hydrating products to name a few, I've managed to grow my hair from shoulders to waist. Once it hits below my waist, it thins out and breaks like clockwork. Has for years. I've accepted now that waist length hair is my sweet spot. A piece of advice is to find your length 'sweet spot', because not everyone can grow it to hips or bottom or below. Genetics play the ultimate role.
So encouraging to see a video on MY hair type 😭 So much of the advice online is for other hair types! I have super long hair but it’s damaged, I think I need a nice blunt cut 6-10” off to start more fresh and then follow up with these recommendations. Thank youuuuuu
Oh and also couldn’t agree more on the more frequent washing! I have the same fine hair type as you and my hair looked at its worst when I would be “training” it by only washing 2x a week. That’s the quickest way to ruin your hair. Now I also wash it every other day and sometimes everyday if I break a good sweat but it’s so much healthier with more frequent washing. ☺️
Thank you so much for this video. I was currently following the wavy girl trend but I notice that my hair is looking more greasy with all of the products I was using. I was shocked when you mentioned about how delicate hair gets tangled so easily. My boyfriend and I got for motorcycle rides and I would come home with my hair clip almost falling out and huge knots and tangles that hurt when I would try to untangle them. I am definitely going to skip on the hairdresser appointments now. My mom’s family is Mennonite and they have long beautiful hair. You inspired me to get in touch with them to talk to them about their hair care. Also will definitely be getting the conditioner. My current conditioner I think is way too heavy it has all these oils that I don’t think are working for me. Love your hair, it is my hair goal. ❤
Actually if you hair is split then you need to be more regular with maintenance trims (hairdresser appointments) because once a hair gets split, it will just keep splitting up the hair shaft and instead of that hair getting longer with time it will look thinner and shorter despite the fact that hair is growing at the same rate.
I have very coily hair and I wash my hair everyday! People think I’m crazy but my hair is the healthiest it’s ever been. When my hair is straightened, it’s at the base of my neck in a bob. I hope to grow it out by continuing this daily washing routine. Great tips! I drink whole milk as well. I love it before bed to sleep deep! 🐄
Thank you for this very informative video! I also have thin/easily breakable hair and it’s hard to find hair content creators that weren’t naturally blessed with thick long hair.
Caitlin, I appreciate this video so much. My hair type is similar , though my routine is very different. 😉 Washing once a week with rhassoul clay, never using heat ( I really just don't have the patience for any kind of hair curling 😂) and using a boar bristle brush to clean /bring the oils down the shaft inbetween washes. You brought up a great point about blow-drying that I hadn't considered before. 🎉 You are a ray of sunshine and God bless you and your guys. ❤
I have a similar hair type as you so this information is very helpful! The thing that bugs me the most is literally just sitting there and it tangles. I don’t have to do anything. It’s a mystery really.
Loved this video! Really good advice! I get prenatal off Amazon even though I’m not pregnant and I think it has made a huge difference in my hair. Would love to see a skincare video for sensitive skin!
Video recommendation: Hair styles for your type of hair. You mentioned sometimes that certain hairstyles hurt you and it's the same for me so would love if you could some kinda like tutorials? You and your hair are so beautiful x
So glad I found this. I have the same hair as you (just a bit thinner and shorter) and most hair videos are always made by people with thick hair, which doesn't help me much.
There is silicone in that herbal essence but silicone is actually really great for fragile hair and it’s very light weight on a molecular level. It’s great at protecting your hair and preventing breakage!
Your hair is so beautiful and your natural shade of blonde is perfection 💖 So funny you used to bleach it. It reminds me of younger me dying my hair "dark auburn" with box hair dye in high school (and doing it so often it fried the crud out of it). And I naturally have brown hair with auburn highlights. What were we thinking? Lol 😭
I love this advice. I cut my hair into a pixie because I was so frustrated with it postpartum. I have the exact same hair type and I’ve been dreaming of long hair for years. :)
Love this video!! Your hair is gorgeous!!! Question, if you don’t use the Dyson airwrap or other hot brushes, what blow drying method are you using? Regular round brush and hairdryer? Or do you just rough dry it then curling it? What do you prefer?
This is super helpful to me. I have the exact same hair type of A LOT of FINE hair (though different wave pattern. Mine is curly but brushes out to be floofy waves). Just wearing my hair down in the winter makes a tangled dreadlock at the nape of my neck from rubbing against my jacket collar. I’m working on better hair care but (as is painfully apparent in my videos) I’m still struggling with my hair looking dry and just kind… puffy?? At the ends? But flat on top. No idea how to keep it smooth and tamed while also homesteading but I’m looking forward to more tips in this video (currently on minute 7 and already inspired!)
Caitlin is sooo pretty... She just keeps getting more and more beautiful every time I see her!
THANK YOU! getting older has been a glow up! cheers to being 29!!
Why is that though? 🤭
@@MrsMidwest You mentioned doing face yoga. Would love to hear more about that!
Agreed. She is growing more beautiful, humble, joyful and compassionate with every year that passes.
Yes!!
I would love you to make another video about being stress free and avoiding certain type of content yet staying informed. You really seem lighthearted and energetic and I think part of it it's your diligence about it ☺️
Thissss

My hair is past my tail bone! Longest I’ve ever had it! I changed my diet(no processed foods or anything with sugar, went gluten free, only eat what God gave us to eat), exercise about 3 - 4xs a week, drink lots of water, eat lots of protein(mostly animal based protein: meat(no pork), 2 duck eggs a day, raw milk), sleep on a mulberry silk pillowcase, & I take the Garden Of Life Raw Prenatal vitamins 3xs a day. I get compliments daily on how long & beautiful my hair looks.
Wow this is amazing!
That’s amazing!!❤
Girl you are an inspiration!!!! I think my carrot cake love holds me back from this 😂❤
@ Aww, thank you. 🙏🏻 You are an inspiration too! Haha! Well I will have some sweets, like your fave carrot cake once in a great while(like my birthday or Christmas) but a gluten free healthy carrot cake or some other baked goods made with healthy ingredients.
do you think if I follow similar diet to yours, no processed food and high protein and mainly healthy i also need vitamins ?
THANK YOU for this!! I swear it's so hard to find good info for those of us with fine hair. It's such a challenging texture and I feel you so hard on literally anything breaking your hair!
dude i feel you on this. it feels like 'why even bother!?' but then when you keep going, you'll find some success and it's SO worth it!
Yes!!! Mine is fine and thin so I don’t have a ton and need to protect what I’ve got!!
Yes, I've been looking since high school, not than 10 years ago, but then illness the past couple years really screwed my hair and then having a baby this year and Im down to like 3 hairs left on my head lol
I haven't really looked for hair info just cus it hasnt been priority but I already follow Mrs Midwest so this was so nice to find out she had fine hair!
Yes I have fine hair and I'm growing it out. So many I see have such thick gorgeous hair. Until I found you the closest I have found is Abby Yung. Thank you so much.
I know it’s none of my business but I’m glad to see you ditched the really dark eyebrow look. I think the lighter style makeup is stunning on you!!!
Agreed!
10000% agreed 😍
I was thinking the saaaame thing . The lighter makeup is gorgeous
Yay I’m glad you like it!! Thank you!!
@@MrsMidwestdefinitely need an updated grwm!
Same!!! I remember a light bulbs moment with that
We are the fine hair club!! We are high maintenance 😂❤
my fine hair started falling out when I tried washing once a week.
Yes! The empowered wife deep dive would be great!
I second that!! That book is AMAZING!
That sounds amazing!!! I’m glad you remembered my love for that book. It’s one of my top three of all time ❤😊
Great videos and very beautiful and pretty hair too.❤😂👍👍
A postpartum glow up video would be AMAZING!!!
Also I would literally watch her videos rehashing anything 😂
Omg yesss!! Postpartum from second baby over here 🙋🏻♀️
This is so funny thank you 😂
I have 3b hair but it’s fine like yours. Your advice has made a difference for my hair. Washing my hair every other day is a must.
Every time I see you, you LITERALLY look like a beautiful doll or Disney princess, God bless✨️💖
I wish I could emulate that kind of beauty 😭🙏🏼
Yes!!
❤❤❤
Yes it makes my heart feel sad for that former girl. Sometimes trauma can really make itself known on our bodies 😢😢😢
Thank you!!
What does the acne wash do for the scalp or hair? Ty
Yes, me too ❤
Agreed! I have a lot of curls! But they are fine and frail
@@Makai-mq2uv yes, I think mine are pretty fine too. My hair is thick, so I never thought of it as fine. But a true curly hair routine weighs it down too much, and it seems to break more!
Wow I love this insight thank you!!! That makes a lot of sense actually. You can weigh down the hair a bit more ❤
Me with 4a/b hair watching Mrs. Midwest. We do share a similarity though: we both have fine stranded hair.
I use it when I clarify
For my regular conditioner, I haven’t found my perfect fit but right now I am using carols daughter black vanilla.
Eeee happy to have things in common. Fine hair is a such a beast of its own. We need a support club 😂❤
Same I have thick coarse wavy curly hair. I can't find any advice to help my hair so I am going to try this!
My hair is the healthiest it’s ever been and it’s growing so long 🥹
Hi just curious, if you don’t put oil, do you just wash and put nothing afterwards?
Now I know that my hair is fine, and a lot of the products I was using were
heavy so heavy that I decided
to buy baby products, my hair is 3C and very kind cotton candyish
I'm a hairdresser and I went into this video skeptical but this is actually good advice. The one thing I'd change is that professional products and color / lightening services by an experienced stylist are huge. Because let's be real not everyone is blessed with beautiful, manageable, natural blonde hair! I have dark hair and I go very blonde, but I still have long healthy hair.
As a hairdresser surely you can see this person dye's her hair, it's so obvious.
A video on your skincare next please !!! Your skin is glowing and fine line free ❤
Wow thank you!!! I’ll keep it in mind ❤🎉
Based on your advice I switched to sleeping on a silk pillowcase about two years ago and it has truly made such a difference. My hair is not down to my hips yet, but we're almost there. :) Thank you for expanding on that topic.
I like how you are doing your eyebrows and makeup in general; looks more natural and gorgeous
Yeah the clownslook is finally gone
we live way under poverty line and in student loan debt... I've decided to cut my own hair and get cheap products for my hair and it's doing great! as Caitlin said, if you have what you need for your hair, it'll thrive!
I used to use redken and olaplex. Pantene and herbal essence have yet to do me wrong now
@@humblejoy3564 Pantene has worked better for my fine wavy hair than ANY expensive salon products that I’ve wasted money on in the past.
Thank you sooo much. I could not for the life of me understand why not washing my hair made my hair fall out and made it feel SO unhealthy. Your videos are so helpful and realistic! ❤
No matter the hair type, regular shampooing is so vital, your scalp is the soil and your hair is the plant❤ great tips
This is me !!! Very fine brown hair!! I did the blunt cut and protein! Thanks for this!!! I have my hair past my shoulders and its healthy
I am always mesmerized by Caitlin's hair in all her videos
Also I don't brush my hair wet, only gently detangle when moist
- Humidity can cause frizz and frizz is not damage! And look up gel, it helps with frizz really well
- I blow dry my hair or air dry it with gel, depending on my plans, the weather and mood! Gel gives me such nice waves. I make my own gel with linen seeds
- I love stick buns, usually I do a nautilus bun.
I love an updated glow up video! Especially after becoming a mom ☺️
I would love to see you do a skincare video! I look forward to every video Caitlin and look up to you so much!
I went animal based for the majority of my diet and my hair is now phenomenal!!
You have the most gorgeous hair color. It and the length suit you so well!
Hi! ✨ I have a different hair texture than yours and every single one of these tips I also use and have helped my hair thrive and grow out close to my waist 🎉
I love how you pointed out the fact that blow drying your hair has actually helped it grow. I’ve noticed the same with my hair texture. Even tho it is different than yours, it is also a fine hair texture and very delicate. Keeping it blow dried has maintained it in a stronger state and I see way less breakage! ❤
❤
Yay! I literally just got done rewatching one ofyour old vlogs. I can't believe you uploaded
So true that you can lose hair from stress! I've lost huge amounts of hair 3 different times in my life just from stress
It would be great to see an updated makeup routine! Product recommendations, techniques, and also how to do makeup for your unique features.
Love this!! ❤ thank you!! My hair is the complete opposite of yours but I still feel that there were some helpful tips in there! Thank you for sharing!! Your hair looks so good and each video I am blown away by it! 😊
Can you do a video about your fitness & diet journey since you’ve had children? You look amazing! Beautiful hair! ❤❤❤❤
Yessss! Love this! As a fellow long haired girly with fragile hair I love allllll the tips!
What is the supplement that helped your sleep and stress?
Had my AirPods on listening to your video while washing dishes late at night. Baby and hubby are asleep. I thought I was hearing their voices and even took my airpods out to listen a few times until I realized it’s your husband in the video with your kiddos 😂. Thought I was going crazy for a second there
Haha me too!!
I can't wait to help fix it postpartum and will use all of these tips 🙏🏻 thank you
I had hyperemesis with all three of my babies, so I feel for you!
These hair growing videos of yours are so helpful - thank you!
I can testify that my hair grew very long not washing it as often. I can pull it off because it doesn't get oily until after about 1,5 weeks. I use only very mild stuff on my hair. My scalp is very content this way.
Great video, as always!
I know in previous videos you’ve mentioned that you lift weights. Would love it if you shared your routine! ❤
Can you do a what you eat in a day? You’re so gorgeous!
Things I do the same as you:
Clarifying shampoo every wash, washing every 2 days.
Gentle hair brush
Heat protectant on the ends
Leave in conditioner sometimes, oil sometimes
Focused on nutrition and protein
Hair scrubber in the shower when I wash!
Protective sleep styles (loose bun on top of my head with a spiral hair tie)
I also blow dry my hair dry after each wash and use some form of heat (usually a curling iron) every second day.
Such a good example for our young ladies. Thank you. And yes, long hair for the win. 🏆
i shaved my head the other day so i could start over completely. my hair was fried from dyeing it black and bleaching it to go red multiple times. i’m excited to have healthy hair and my natural color back!
would love to see a week in your life hair tutorial/blow dry routine!
I gasp at how beautiful you are every time I watch a video of yours 🩷
I do not have hair like yours at all but I loooove your energy and had fun watching this ❤️❤️
Oh my goodness when your darling boys walked in ❤🥹 they are just adorable
Oh and also couldn’t agree more on the more frequent washing! I have the same fine hair type as you and my hair looked at its worst when I would be “training” it by only washing 2x a week. That’s the quickest way to ruin your hair. Now I also wash it every other day and sometimes everyday if I break a good sweat but it’s so much healthier with more frequent washing. ☺️
The grandma is wanting to know spill the tea bb girl ❤🫖❤🫖❤🫖
Your hair is lovely! It looks super healthy!
Do you blow it out every time you wash it?
@@Makai-mq2uv Thank you! ☺️
@@magdalenasamandova Nope I wear it in my natural state.
Use ayurvedic products and massage your scalp.
Thank you for this very informative video! I also have thin/easily breakable hair and it’s hard to find hair content creators that weren’t naturally blessed with thick long hair.
Caitlin, I appreciate this video so much.
My hair type is similar , though my routine is very different. 😉
Washing once a week with rhassoul clay, never using heat ( I really just don't have the patience for any kind of hair curling 😂) and using a boar bristle brush to clean /bring the oils down the shaft inbetween washes. You brought up a great point about blow-drying that I hadn't considered before. 🎉 You are a ray of sunshine and God bless you and your guys. ❤
I would love to see a video of how you style your hair with your current cut. It looks so beautiful here! 😍
Yes can you please do more updated beauty related content!!
I have the same hair and I was JUST thinking I should wash my hair more often. THANK YOU ❤
Wow thank you! I have fine hair with a wave at the ends as well and didn’t know it was so delicate.
I can definitely recommend Abbey Yung for hair advice, she sometimes also includes scientific advice
Abbey Yung has changed my hair for the better 🙏🏼
Lol 😭
You look absolutely beautiful!!💎I hope this will help me grow out my hair long and healthy. Manifesting it!!✨
I love this advice.
