You missed the sanctum of domination cinematics and still have the end of the sepulcher of the first ones raid to watch. There are also a few epilogue cinematics for the expansion.
Best way to get Sylvanas lore is getting the audiobook Sylvanas. It is narrated by the VA. Gives us her backstory and is intertwined with her telling her life's story to Anduin while she had him chained up during a lot of the Shadowland cinematics
For the scene with the Winter Queen and Tyrende; the background is that you saw Sylvannas set fire to the Night Elf home in the tree. After that Tyrende did a ritual to become a warrior of Elune; the Goddess of the moon the Night Elves worship. When the jailer set in motion his plan it cut off the souls going to the afterlives and directed them all to the maw. This drought of souls was killing the different afterlives. The Winter Queen called out to her sister Elune for help; and thought Elune ignored her pleas. Instead Elune didn't intervene when the Night Elves homes were destroyed; believing that all the souls that died there would go to her sister, the Winter Queen's realm of Ardenweld. Instead; unknown to either at the time, all the souls were damned to the Maw. So the Winter Queen went on believing her sister ignored and betrayed her when she needed her; and Elune thought she let her children die believing they would help her sister and eventually get reborn again. This scene was them realizing what actually happened with Elune talking through Tyrende and the sisters reconciling. They say that Tyrende who has been consumed by anger and vengence has to decide if shes ready to release that and working towards renewal. We see that she is by becoming herself again with all the markings off of her. The gem you see floating is the Sister's Tear, similar to the Tear of Elune which you've seen before in the scene with the Satyr who threw it at Ysera to corrupt her; then the scene when she dies and the gem is left where her body is. Its a magical artifact that serves as a vessel of renewal and will be explained later.
Also Arthas Menethil was a prince of Lorderon (the former Human capital city and home of the Forsaken (undead horde faction) It's the city at the beginning of the expansion that Sylvannas let off all the green gas in. He was a Paladin trained by Uther (the winged angel guy with the wound). He was a love interest of Jaina as well. When his home was threatened by a plague caused by the burning legion he basically went insane trying to protect his people and committed some atrocities (killed everyone in a city once he saw some were infected) which caused Jaina and Uther to walk away from him. He later claimed Frostmourne, and killed his father, Uther and Sylvannas (raising her to be a banshee to serve him and she broke free) We see in the 2D animation you mentioned Uther's soul was split with part of his soul going to Bastion; and the other part being trapped in Frostmourne. The same happened to Sylvannas where part of her became the Banshee queen, but part of her soul was trapped in the sword and later taken by the Jailer. Arthas later became the first Lich King.

so, afaik, azeroth has had 3 lich kings. the first was an orc shaman with some REALLY cool lore, that no one really cares about as a lich king because all of his stuff basically happens off screen until WC3.
Then arthas takes over at the very end of WC3.
after arthas is defeated, dead pallydude from an in game cinematic in wrath (also a pretty cool character with some cool wow backstory), becomes the burned dude lich king with a hammer instead of cursed sword.
the jailer is basically big-daddy-lich king, and tried to use arthas' soul to turn anduin into a new shinier death knight, kinda worked too.
Arthas was the Lich King back in the day from Warcraft 3. We killed him at the end of Wrath of the Lich King. After that Bolvar Fordragon took up the mantle as a neutral lich King, as "There must always be a Lich King." Arthas Menethil WAS a Paladin, his mentor and teacher Uther Lightbringer is who you saw helping Sylvannas. Both of them were killed as Arthas tore across the Lorderan, Dalaran, and Silvermoon areas and cities with a massive and growing tide of the dead.

Sylvanas has been dead for an undetermined time. If you go by the previously established story, it's been 20-25 years, but they play fast and loose.
Crazy how shadowlands content always have good audience but everytime people talk about it, they are disgusted by the name of the expansion. It was my first one really playing the end game, so I'll always remember fondly, doesn't matter what people say
it just retcond and kinda messed with some lore and then alot of the systems in it were anoyying, story was still kinda fun tho. except the arthus disenchant part...
Blizzard got that infamous crybaby crowed around it, who live for whining about and hating on everything, no matter what, they even constantly make up BS for that.

Artha's ending was perfect. His whole story was a tragedy of downfall, endless violence, which condemned him at the end with his own deeds haunting him even after his death.
It would be utterly absurd to have any other ending than that.
That little light is simply a mere fragment of what is left of him. If you don't like it, imagine a distorted corpse at its place, if that's what you need.
That small fragment of Sylvanas was frozen in time at the moment was it was ripped out of her by Frostmourne when Arthas killed her and distorted her into a Banshee. It's likelys also the most emotional and empathetic part of her, since Arthas ripped that part out to make her that monstrous Banshee to genocide her own people for him.
This fragment got no clue what happened, it was just pushed back into Sylvanas and only saw these horrible things without any context at all, while the much bigger soul of Banshee Sylvanas is mainly annoyed how this little fragment just don't want to understand how this was a needed sacrifice to be made to free mortals from the eternal tyranny of the shadowlands.
The fragment of course does not even want to listen, only seeing this absurd, distorted mockery of itself, randomly slaughtering people without sense or meaning and simply thinks it is trapped in a nightmare, haunted by an evil spirit that tortures her with her own face.
That's why Uther had to explain to her, that this is no mockery, no evil spirit, but her and yes, in all those years many bad things happened and when it accepts to become part of the full soul again, it will have to bear the consequences and also live with all these deeds as part of herself.
But he knows very well, that the ranger general this fragment still sees itself as, would never put her own life over that of others - just like Banshee Sylvanas didn't, when she went against Zovaal what brought her into this situation in the first place. Sylvanas could have just went along with that change of plan and only care for herself, instead she gave up everything and stayed true to her goal: freeing mortals from tyranny.
I know it is not that often that you find a bunch of lore as deep and extensive as the lore of Warcraft. But if you do, and you're trying to understand it all, I suggest you do not multi task and occupy yourself with other materials at the same time, because that just contributes confusion. There would be no point in watching the Lord of the Rings movies, for example, one at a time, and do other things for a few weeks before you come back to the next movie. But you have tried to take on a task that most reactors just look at and turn away, so congratulations on the ambition! I will continue to look through your Wow reactions and hope to see what you think of Dragonflight (which is rather tepid in its own way) and War Within (which is great so far!)
@@dangerbook4807 I should mention that I have only experienced dragon flight through playing the expansion myself (the gameplay videos on the channel), I still haven’t finished the end part of it but if it’s something people are interested in me continuing I would love to

This cinematics are one of the last ones in Shadowlands.
